Avatar f tn I was just in the hospital for gallstones and pancreatitis. My blood pressure was as low as 71/34! And it usually is low- but more like 110/65. Isn't low blood pressure just as concerning and dangerous as high blood pressure?? Should I be concerned? I am always freezing cold, even need a sweater on most summer days! I am overweight and have always thought that meant I shouldnt be cold!
Avatar f tn ve ever had is a (drum roll please)...................CRAMP????? Hahahahaha, dipshit! All my symptoms point to Pancreatitis. I am going to my regular GI Doc on Tues, excited to maybe get some answers. I also "googled" the results of my Transvaginal Ultrasound, ha! I seem to have a "Complex" cyst on my left ovary. Those are the kind that have to be evaluated right away and removed, they are not good!

Avatar n tn I have had chronic pancreatitis for 18 years so I feel like I have a handle on what the symptoms are! I had my first pancreatitis attack after an ERCP in 1990. The pain is in the epigastric region and is a pain like you have never felt before. Completely debilitating! A full blown attack hits you instantly with very sharp intense pain in the epigastric region that goes straight through to your back. With each of these attacks, I would start vomiting and would be vomiting bile.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have found this thread quite late and I hope you have found an answer and not suffered any further painful episodes. I just wanted to say that I too, presented at emergency with severe pain just over 3 years ago. It was discovered that my pancreas is severely calcified. I do not drink or smoke and did not present with gall-stones. I was referred to a brilliant endocrine surgeon and It was discovered my pancreatitis was caused by an overactive para-thyroid gland.

Avatar f tn For instance, severe inflammation of organs inside the body such as acute pancreatitis can cause low blood pressure. In acute pancreatitis, fluid leaves the blood vessels to enter the inflamed tissues around the pancreas as well as the abdominal cavity, depleting the volume of blood. There can be kidney problems, etc.

Avatar n tn My question is does this mean I have chronic pancreatitis or can you not tell on a MRCP? Does the duct dilatation set off an inflamation of the liver and pancreas and cause the pancreatitis pain? Also can the duct dilatation heal on its own in time? I have no desire to undergo an ERCP as I've heard such nightmare stories from people who have undergone but yet I'm so tired of not feeling good and having pain and just would like to feel good again. Thanks for your help.

Best of luck to you..
Avatar m tn Would cirrhosis be detected on an U/S? Is chronic pancreatitis likely with these symptoms? Wouldn’t that have shown on the pancreatic enzyme tests? Any other thoughts, or good questions to ask my doctor or GI? I am very frightened that my drinking has given me cirrhosis or chronic pancreatitis. Thanks, Doc.
Avatar f tn Is your blood pressure now low? Are your ankles swollen? Are you pretty much fatigued? Sometimes your B.M. (bowel movement) are ok one minute and the next you are running to the bathroom? Has this interfered with outside activities? Well, the reason I was asking all those questions? Is because, I too suffer from IBS. I finally was diagnosed: Chronic Pancreatitis. After a ten yr. search, I get a diagnosis. Chronic meaning, it never goes away. All the way...
Avatar f tn The Benazepril will lower blood pressure, so if your dog does not have high blood pressure - the medication could cause blood pressure to fall dangerously low. With cautious low-dosing and very regular blood pressure monitoring, it can be advantageous. However, if there isn't at least weekly checks on blood pressure, then it's a dangerous form of treatment for a dog that has normal blood pressure. All drugs, not just Benazepril, cause issues for the kidneys. Why?
Avatar m tn A herniated disc can cause pressure symptoms at levels below the herniation. It cannot cause symptoms higher up. The burning pain that you mention looks more like pain of herpes zoster. Usually the pain starts prior to the appearance of the rash. The other possibility is pancreatitis. Stomach ulcers and some kidney stones too can cause pain in the thoraco-lumbar area. You can discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining.
Avatar n tn Hello, Recently I got in ER with diagnosis pancreatatis. My lipase level was 907 (norm 70-110). I had several blood tests done, EUS, CT and Hida Scan - they all negative. However, it's been a month already and I still feel pressure under my left rib area. I feel bloated all the time... I assume that it is pancreas... However, I am very scared about some serious abnormalities in pancreas. Can anyone help me with the explanation of the tests I had - is it enough to rule out the bad things?
Avatar m tn Anna, these were my symptoms when i first was in the hospt. w/ my pancreatitis, i had high Amalyse and Lipase levels and dull aching pain in my mid to left abdomen(for a week).., and since then my stools have been abnormal, I also have lost about 15 pounds, and i indeed have had a stool test for fat and mine came back negative. Avatar f tn Hi, My name is Teresa and i have been having problems with pain and pressure in my right side. the pain never goes away it just gets worse if i sit or lay in certain positions. i went to the hospital a year ago and i was told by one doctor i had pancreatitis but a different doctor told me it wasn't. last week i go to the hospital again with pain and they did an altrasound. the doctor in the hospital said they found a mass on my pancreas.
Avatar m tn Chronic pancreatitis does not always have elevated liver levels. Most of the time they are normal even though some Drs will not agree. This could be the problem. I would visit the GI and see what they say . CT Scan does not always detect CP and sometimes an Endoscopic Ultrasound is needed to see minimal changes. You can get this scheduled with the GI Dr. Sometimes small changes are not even detected with this method but a more experienced DR can detect it.
