Lumbar spinal stenosis may cause numbness, weakness or cramping in thighs, legs
and feet, shooting pain,
and paralysis of legs in severe cases. Muscle
loss or wasting results from sedentary way of living, secondary to disuse due to rheumatoid arthritis, or osteoarthritis if you are suffering. Other causes of atrophied muscles include neuromuscular disorders like guilain barre syndrome, secondary to diabetic neuropathy, malnutrition or stroke.
