How long should a severe kidney infection last? I have had it for 5 weeks now and still having a hard time recovering. Still sometimes have chills and fever, night sweats and very fatigued. I have taken omnicef and taken all of it.
He was put on amoxil and had an allergic reaction so he has been taking omnicef. The Dr told us this week that the omnicef has not done anything and that he was going to give him a round of antibiotic shots. So far my son has had 2 of the 3 shots. My first question is how quickly do these shots work? My other question is: Is there some underlying problem that is causing these ear infections, something more serious? He has not had any other type of infection i.e.
My child was 1 1/2 months old when she developed a "cold" that consisted of a stuffy nose for about 1 1/2 months. After 2 bouts with antibiotics(amoxicillin & omnicef) it seemed that we were in the clear. I took her to her pediatrician that same day where they did a strep test which came back negative, prescribed omnicef and sent us home. The next day her temperature just kept skyrocketing, getting up to 106. That night I took her to the ER at Children's in Dallas where they ran another strep test, mono, flu, and cbc. Her mono, strep, and flu all came back negative. Her white blood count was at 21. They gave her a shot of rocephin, told us to continue the omnicef, sent us home.
I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question,
wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
The allergist got a sinus x-ray and it showed a pretty yucky sinus infection. Once again, a round of Omnicef for 14 days made him better, but when I took him back for recheck and repeat x-ray, it showed he still had a mild sinus infection on the left side...So what is happening is the antibiotics have been getting him better, but not all the way, so it just comes right back, even if we keep him on antibiotics for 2-3 weeks at a time. He is set up to start allergy injections next week.
I am allergic to so many antibiotics. I now have a serious sinus infection and my doctor cannot find an antibiotic to treat the infection that does not cause either hives or diarrhea. I need help. Below are the antibiotics that I cannot take but can I take???

Hi, I need some advise regarding my teeth.
I had a root canal done on my tooth 19th maybe about 3 years ago.
2 years ago my gum swelled because of pus & infection therefore the dentist did another root canal to remove the infection. I found out last sep. that there's some infection underneath that same tooth again, but
because of some complication with insurance i didn't do anything about it till now. This time there's no swelling or pain or any sort of discomfort.
I have swollen eyelids that come and go, almost like hives, but rarely itch. Can be one or several. On omnicef for sinus infection, but doctor doesn't think this is causing it. Before omincef had a sulfer type med that caused swelling in joints, sick stomach, rash, fever. Have been on Omicef 5 days. Started having strange raised bumps for three days that come and go. Will say that two weeks ago had actual hives around eyes and think it was caused from eye cream.
Chronic sinus infection? I have gone for a dental implant about 2 months ago. The implant was done on the upper left side. Following the surgery I ended up with chronic sinus infection, for which I took a course of amoxicillin. That did not help and the oral specialist put me on augmentum. Upon completion of that, infection came back 3 days later. My dentist explained that inane a chronic sinus infection and would have to take implant out.
Hey everyone, I'm about 3 months into Lyme treatment. Most of my symptoms have disappeared or improved but I still have pretty bad pain in my fingers and tendons on my hands. My thumb, index, and middle finger hurt the most, along with the tendons down my thumb. Since starting antibiotics it has improved slightly but it only got so better. Currently I'm on doxy and omnicef along with many supplements (mainly for my immune system). Will different antibiotics help better?
Hi, I got a bride fitted on my top left side, it is 4 teeth and fits on the tooth next to the top left wisdom tooth, obviously that tooth was ground and made smaller for the bridge to fit on it, the tooth was absolutely healthy and fine, i have never had any problems with that tooth earlier, the day grinding took place that tooth became sore, very very sensitive and I had to get temp.
Sounds like a tooth abcess, I had one of this this spring. Got a bump on the gum above the tooth. It can make the tooth hurt, but it doesn't have to. You need to go see a dentist, not good to have infections in the teeth.
You need antibiotics and then a root canal with a crown. Very expensive, but the only chance to save the tooth.
I thought the endodontist did a very poor job). So now I'm on my 2nd day of 500 mg Penicillin QID, and I'm still having pain. I've been taking 600 mg Ibuprofen Q6HR alternating with 1000 mg Acetometophin Q6HR, which helps, but I was wondering: how long should I wait till I possibly suspect the antibiotic is not doing the job on the infection? Also, it was recommended that I have a redo of said root canal, which I agree with, but...is that going to be a very difficult procedure?
