The thing is, i have been put on almost all of known anit seizure medications, none seem tobe as effective as it should be, i beleive at one time i was close to depression while on depakot, then i met a specialist who then put me on Zonegran, it worked for a couple years or so, then i moved to Las Vegas back in 03, it started again inspite the drugs, perhaps a combonation of stress, and lack of sleep could be the cause of it all?

s like a nerve in a tooth is crushed and I sit and deal with the dizziness and pretend everything is all right. It does not happen all the time, and I think that it happens a day after a big night out (lots of wine etc.) when I am feeling vulnerable - last night it actually happened throughout the dinner - just tried to act "normal" and hope that dinner guests did not notice what was going on. Very weird.
Note there is a difference between the cause of a seizure and a trigger. Seizures can be caused by head injury (at any time in your life), diabetes side effects, a high fever as a child or a virus/bacterium like meningitis.
Triggers are things like alcohol drinks, flashing lights (like driving a car through shade/shadow or watching window blinds flickering the light from a breeze, or for some people anything raising the adrenaline level. In women, PMS is usually a trigger.
There are different types of epilepsy with different characteristics like grand mal epilepsy you have tonic clonic generalized muscle contractions, frothing, unconsciousness, twitches, metal confusion, some may lose bladder and bowel control, usually preceded by an aura of impending seizure. aura is a strange feeling of muscle stiffening, hearing weird sounds, smelling strange smells etc. absence seizure manifest as brief staring spells where the person is cut off from the surroundings.
i was coughing hard the other day, why'll i was playing a board game. all of a sudden i passed out. my friends said my eye look blank and that the white's of my eyes had a slight gray look to them. i was out for about 10 sec., and when i came to i had a loss of time, it felt like i was out longer, then i was. i was a little confused when i woke up and i got really sleepy. i tried talking but i had a hard time keeping my thought starght. i'm worried that i my have had a seizure.
Another thing we learn from our inventories is that the past does not have to continue into the future, and that forgiveness of the human condition is also another important point to think about. With our inventories we also see how we hold near and dear some of the negative qualities we may say we don't like, but continue to use over and over again.
Thanks becky. I am hopeful that the medication will keep him seizure free. What happened when I was with him were two seizures within a couple of hours of one another. The biggest problem was he was so out of it in between. He was wandering around and I couldn't handle him. He kept pushing me away and was looking for the bathroom but he thought the kitchen and other rooms were the bathroom and kept trying to sit down thinking it was the toilet but he wasn't even near a chair.
was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. However, this UTI is hurting so badly!!! If It is too risky then I can`t take it!!!! Please help me.

I do not think that this is a Parkinson's symptom. Could it be due to some medication that you are on? It is not a seizure of any sort.
Recently (after a week of heavy enough drinking/partying) I collapsed and had some sort of seizure, I was conscious threwout, but couldnt control any part of my body and was unable to speak (I developed some sort of severe stutter/stammer and couldnt get any words out). I couldnt walk for two days after the seizure as I had no control over my legs. I was kept in hospital for a week, I had a CAT scan which came back clear and I believe they ran some blood tests.
I'm new to all about epilepsy. I had an EEG today to rule it out, and I'll have the answer within 2 weeks.
I'm turning 22 in october, female. No family history of epilepsy.
But I'm so scared, and I've developed an anxiety of dying.
My symptoms started 3 months ago. I began to experience what my neurologist calls "myoclonic jerks". I get them all day long. When I wake up in the morning, it can take 1/2-1 hour before they start/I notice them.
I am 4 months post surgery, and my experiance is a 27 year old with uncontrolled right temporal lobe epilepsy for 14 years having been on every combination of meds out there, I still continued on my days with complex partial seizures even on 4500mg of meds per day, so that is why I was put through complex testing to localize where the epilepsy was coming from, they focalized it and resected it out, and Ive been now 4mnths with 1 seizure and many auras, all of which have gone!
Are you going to wait until you have an episode and a mother and four of her small children are dead and her husband a paraplegic because you hit them head on?
A blood test is not sufficient to determine if you are safe to drive nor to identify the cause of the seizure.
That being said, a single episode of a seizure does not mean your driving priviliges will be gone forever. Sometimes seizures do not re-occur. Count on at least six to twelve months of not driving.
i have 34x5mg sad part is if i need more for the taper plan i can get over 100 of em tomrw and more the next day and so on..... I'm a little confused tho because the WD symptoms are from not taking trams right? i've been thru vicodin withdrawal's (i was shot in the buttocks) and these are similar but not the same. These are way worse. The depression and anxiety are unbearable. okay ive taken 4x5mg vics at 6a.m.
