I was doing alot of research last night on the shortage and I have seen that alot of people are going to the compound pharmacy to get their 30 mg. They are compounding it with ginger in the Tampa area I know and some other areas too. It seems they are expensive though at 5 bucks a pill:( I called mallinckrodt last night also and they say that the shortage will soon end.

Report these pharmacies as they are breaking the law and taking advantage of the shortage. For people that are on a fixed income, this is a horrendous situation. An ISMP survey of more than 1,800 health care practitioners (68% of them pharmacists) from July to September revealed at least two deaths as a result of a morphine shortage when a substitute was misused. Respondents were most alarmed by the use of less desirable, unfamiliar and often more expensive alternative drugs. They were concerned of potential for errors, poor patient outcomes or preventable adverse drug events.

Hmmm, I heard a report that the drug shortage was on meds not making pharmaceutical companies enough profit, not that the drugs weren't working. Why are the people on the bottom being asked to sacrifice while the top is making record profits? In my opinion until our values alter, away from greed, nobody is going to want to 'sacrifice' anything.

I just went to see my endo today for a 6 month check up and was told that there is a shortage on Thyrogen in the US and that I'd have to off meds for 6 weeks this time instead of getting the thyrogen injections like I have since my second scan. I simply cannot fathom going off meds again for 6 weeks. It was a horrible experience for me the first time and I simply do not have three more years to get myself back on track again after it's over.

I would have to say anyone that could not see a food shortage coming as a result of all this and the rising prices as a result would have to have their head in a hole somewhere. Our water supply is at risk as well. So is it the result of our government trying to take us over? lol sorry. Nope, we are killing our planet and seems it is fighting for survival. In other words believe it or not, the bible is being fulfilled.

I cannot take Tylenol so switching me to Percocet was out of the question. He has switched me to 5mg Morphine....OH and I understand that the Morphine supply is getting low because of so many Doc's switching over. I guess they changed their formulation or something along thos lines and thats why there is a shortage. A lot of us have switched to other natural brands such as Westhroid and Naturethroid.

Have you noticed any differences in the consistency of the NP tablets since the "shortage"? I had yet another shortage here last month.

Whats the possible problems with using 2 different brands or a combo of compound plus a brand of natural thyroid short term to get over a shortage of a brand of thyroid being available???? any thoughts on this?

After two weeks they told us that they had the reagent and the sample, and we would have results in a week. After the third week they told us we didn't make it into the previous batch and it would take a further week.

I do not drop them or lose them and the only person that knows I take it is my husband. The drug is morphine sulphate. I take it as presribed and if I need something for break through I take advil because my diseases are inflamation related. I don't know what to do.

Trigger shot shortage as anyone heard of this? I just found out next month my doctor is going to do an IUI for the first time and I guess there is a shortage on the trigger shot. I have stage 4 epithelial ovarian resistant cancer. I had 20 cycles of taxo/carbo and my Ca125 was down to 20 from 4,000 before debulking and any chemo. After the debulking and 1 chemo, my CA125 went to 3,000. The scans at 20 didn't show anything. Then 3 weeks later the Ca125 went to 24. 2weeks later it went to 25 and then 2 weeks later 26. We knew it reared its head. After these scans it spread to inside my liver. I never had it inside an organ. Either it was on top or underneath.

However, recently I have been experiencing shortage of breath every time I wake up from sleeping and it is accompanied with dry cough ... Well, first of all i know what i would tell your husband. Who cares what he wants or doesn't like. Look at the mess you are in. Sounds like you need to go and speak with a doctor and explain that you want to get off the morphine. Don't forget to tell him about this husband also who is obviously causing you alot of anxiety.

I pretty much thought it had something to do with the morphine. Any advice? He needs it for his back. My view is morphine is probably better than any other of the narcotic analgesics because it is the most natural and has been around for centuries. My husband is addicted to Morphine. I have never done any type of drug and I really don't know what to do to help. Every time I think I know what is going on I find out something else he has lied about. At first it was just taking the pills, then it was crushing the pills. I am going to go cold turkey on tuesday from 100mg morphine, been on them about 6 to 8 weeks. feeling sick when I dont take them and not able to take off time for detox and types for detox?

After running the gamut of pain medications in an effort to find some relief from the constant, chronic pain I endure from spondylolisthesis, I've been prescribed morphine tablets at 10 mgs per tab. I'm still getting no relief from the pain. Should I ask my GP for a higher dosage?
