Avatar f tn I went to a rheumatologist because I had swelling in my left elbow and right knee and thought it could be arthritis. They took a blood test and the only thing that was positive was my ANA. The Doctor performing the ultra sound said I had a mild inflammatory arthritis and an autoimmune disease. I really want to know what I might have because it will be June before I can get back in to see the doctor. If anybody has an idea, please help. Also, will this affect my fertility in any way?
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
Avatar f tn I have taken two days worth of meloxecam or mobic. The swelling is down some but it is still tender to the touch. Could this be the beginning of rejection?
Avatar m tn Apply ice, and take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Aleve or Mobic. You will need X-rays of the lower spine, pelvis and hip to see if you have a bony injury. The swelling could be a contusion (which will respond to the above treatment) or it could be a hematoma (localized collection of blood which may get re-absorbed or may need drainage). Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar f tn And was told to ice and take Mobic. My entire abdomen is still swollen. How long will this swelling last? I am asking because I am supposed to be going on a cruise in 4 days. The pain is much better now.
Avatar f tn Meanwhile apply ice packs for 10-15 minutes two to three times a day. Raise your leg, do not bear weight, take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Aleve or Mobic and consult a doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar f tn One is that the hardware used has got infected and this causes flare of symptoms on and off. The other possibility is an allergic reaction to the hardware. Since, it has been three years, you can ask your ortho regarding bone union and strength. If it is good, the hardware can be removed. Please discuss with your doctor when the insurance comes through. Meanwhile apply ice during flare-ups and take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Tylenol, Aleve or Mobic. Take care!

Avatar n tn I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time. Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?

Avatar n tn I noticed this years ago when I would masterbate too much. Before I would just stop for a while and the swelling would go down. This time since the swelling was minimal I ignored it and kept masturbating for a week or so. All of a sudden one morning the swelling was huge! During erections my penis was extremely hard I even got stretch marks on the right side of the shaft.

Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
Avatar m tn m already a member of the Anxiety and Depression forums. After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent.
Avatar f tn I take lisinopril myself for HBP and have done so for decades. I've never used naproxen except maybe once or twice. One Rx that might possibly be of benefit for arthritis instead of naproxen is meloxicam, also known as Mobic. I use it occasionally with no ill effects to report.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. The inactive ingredients in Meloxicam (MOBIC) tablets include colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, and sodium citrate dihydrate. So, the sodium content should be in very minute quantities. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I've taken Mobic and Hydrosil as prescribed by my doctor because of my right knee discomfort last month. I immediately stop taken it after my right foot started to numb and tingling the next day. The problem still exist and it has been one month already. Why is it like this? Also, I've been taking Vitamin B complex supplement from that day onwards and it seems not working until today.
176838 tn?1211460374 Wow, your history is almost exactly like mine. I was first dx'd with fibro and then it was taken away when the swelling of the joints started and the daily fevers. I have Still's disease and it is a rare arthritis, it just took forever to get dx'd with it. Do you have fevers or rashes of any kind? I have on my profile all the info about Still's, your welcome to check it out. Hopefully your labs will pinpoint the direction of a dx.
1044813 tn?1370494406 Sure, we can add Mobic/Meloxicam to the Pain Tracker for you. In the meantime, please use NSAIDs, since meloxicam is a type of NSAID and this is already available on the tracker.
