Avatar f tn m worried and cautious but trying to let excitement and positivity be the primary feeling. I read an article from the Mayo Clinic that made me feel better - only 5% have a second miscarriage right after the first. And only 1% have a third. So tell people if you want and let yourself be excited. I'm trying to just take each day at a time.
Avatar f tn Mayo Clinic says your smoking is the most likely cause. There is no reason for you to be searching for an HIV link since you don't even have HIV. Note this excerpt "For that reason, it's best to see your dentist if you have unusual, persistent changes in your mouth." http://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn its not the sanwiches but its what you put in them that I think you may be geting worried about, just make sure everything is fresh, if your mashing boiled egg and mixing it with mayo, make sure you dont use fresh egg mayo and the egg is well cooked, all chicken should be cooked properly and if your using deli meats ie ham make sure its fresh and has been stored properly
1097091 tn?1266793463 Here is an article from the Mayo Clinic on Peripheral Neuropathy. It is a good overview, including causes. The lesion at C3-C4 could well be the cause of the urinary problems. Yes, the urologist has a set of tests that they do, including Urodynamic tests that show how well the bladder fills and emptying and if all the muscles are working in good coordination.
Avatar f tn t think so just worried i commented back and they replied if you go deep it causes miscarriage and if you go fast to point your rocking fast and belly is shaking.
Avatar f tn I have POTS and am supposed to go to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota this winter. I'm curious who has been to Mayo before and how their experiences went. Did you use the POTS clinic part of it or something else? I am also curious because I am mainly going to see if any doctor can figure out the underlying cause of my POTS (my current doctors are not interested in testing for any possible causes of it). Should I go to the POTS clinic part of it or should I just see a general doctor there?
367100 tn?1330914725 Yes, there is an association between underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) and infertility in women. Low levels of thyroid hormone can interfere with ovulation, which impairs fertility. In addition, some of the underlying causes of hypothyroidism — such as certain autoimmune or pituitary disorders — also impair fertility. Treating hypothyroidism is an important part of any effort to correct infertility.
Avatar f tn The cause of miscarriage is usually unknown however it is usually due to a severe defect or problem with the fetus. It is your bodys way of expelling a pregnancy which isn't viable and most likely wouldn't make it to being full term. The older you are, the higher the risk of birth defects which is why miscarriage is also a much higher risk.
Avatar f tn Every woman gets that cyst on their ovary in the first few weeks of pregnancy. It's called a corpus lutean cyst and that is what gives off the hormones to tell the rest of your body you are pregnant until the placenta forms. Most woman either don't have an ultrasound that early in pregnancy or the dr/ultrasound tech simply don't mention it because it's completely normal. It sometimes causes a little bit of cramping. It is very very rare for that cyst to cause any real problems.
Avatar m tn The lower esophageal sphincter, or LES, is responsible for preventing the backflow of stomach contents and for allowing food to easily pass through the esophagus while swallowing. According to The Mayo Clinic, the lower esophageal sphincter can occasionally become weak due to a chronic digestive disease called gastroesophageal reflux disease. Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, can be a major burden that causes heartburn, dysphagia, sore throat and acid reflux.
Avatar f tn I think that my digestive system got tight and has problems from the SIBO I had last year that was diagnosed by the mayo clinic. The Mayo Clinic says the SIBO is gone, but has most likely left me with these other problems that I am seeking treatment from the Mayo Clinic right now. Hope these new treatments work for me and hope this information might help you.
Avatar n tn My mother has had headaches her whole life, but the past couple of years have been the worst. She has seen doctor after doctor and even visited the Mayo Clinc for the burning in her head, which she said it feels as if her head is on fire. Neurolgists have ran MRIs with and without contrast only to find nothing. She has had a occipital nerve block but the burning remains. The Mayo Clinic said she is suffering from anxiety and depression. Is anxiety causing her head to feel on fire?
Avatar f tn Hey - If you go to Mayo, try the one in Jacksonville even though it is smaller. Because I was visiting family in that area, I just went in and spoke with them there but, unfortunately, I decided to be seen at the Mayo in Minnesota - a place which I cannot recommend. I was essentially blown off there, becoming merely learning experience for one of their student MDs. The people at the Jacksonville Mayo seemed way more concerned and would have been more thorough investigating me for ALS.
5889951 tn?1380316047 There are many other possible causes of protein in urine. Emotional stress, being exposed to cold or heat, fever, and strenuous exercise are some of the temporary conditions that can cause this problem, according to the Mayo Clinic.
688845 tn?1325182236 I was wondering if anyone had any idea what would cause a cycle to be irregular randomly? Here is some background: I had a M/C in March. After I was done bleeding (about 3 weeks) I had my normal period the following week. After my first normal cycle, I went on birth control pills to help regulate and to make sure I waited the recommended 3 months for my body to heal properly. I stopped the birth control in August and had normal 29-30 day cycles since then.
Avatar f tn In addition, I am going for a second opinion to the Mayo Clinic and would like a heads up before I go. Can you help me with this? Thank you! I have been going through this pain for 5+ years now.
Avatar f tn However that does not preclude therapeutic trials as have been recommended to you at the Mayo Clinic. You might also want to ask your Mayo Allergist if there are yet other drug therapy possibilities that might be worth a trial.
Avatar m tn Possible causes are: dumping syndrome, hyperthyroidism, incompetent pylorus (muscle at the exit of stomach), , diabetes, stress, sugary diet...Try to search about dumping syndrome. One test can be glucose level after the meal. If you feel bloated, breath tests for H. pylori and for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth may be done.
Avatar n tn Several things can cause miscarriage. Chromosomal abnormalities is a common cause. Also many women have issues with the immune system causing recurrent pregnancy losses. Hormonal issues can be the culprit (i.e. low progesterone). These are just a few of the causes. If you Google "miscarriage causes" you should be able to get some good information. The causes can vary depending on which trimester you are in.
