I know my doctor wouldnt give me anything harmful to the baby, but it still just scares me. Any tips would help! Thank you & i hope you guys are doing great!!

Avatar f tn I had to take it last week for 5 days. Everything is great with baby. It does say that there is no harm to take it however I understand your concern. I'm 27w 5d I'm sure I would've been me hesitant at 6 weeks.
Avatar f tn I just finished a week on it. Same here, bacterial vaginosis. I had it 3 times with my second pregnancy. It was miserable. Hoping I don't have to take that stuff ever again!
Avatar n tn For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily). I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm. My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night? I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
Avatar n tn Has anyone ever used Demerol instead of a epidural? I had a horrible horrible experience with my first baby with the epidural so I'm trying to find different ways to help with the pain. Suggestions?????
Avatar f tn Well, this medication is the gold standard for bacterial vaginosis. Is this what you are taking it for? BV can be passed sexually. You can give your partner BV that they then pass back to you or be reinfected through unprotected sex. BV is hard to get rid of in general let alone if you are exposing yourself to it over and over. Often, when an infection won't clear, the sex partner of someone with it is also treated with flagyl. So, using a condom would be smart in this instance.
Avatar m tn I say cut down because I have a severe back problem do to a motorcycle accident so the pain some times even with. 180mg can be unbearable. Please help any sugestions will help even different meds that are not so harsh.
Avatar f tn I took metronidazole gel at about 20 weeks for bv and baby is fine now at about 28 weeks
Avatar f tn Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet. Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
1472764 tn?1287588186 Has anyone ever used oral metronidazole for a vaginal bacterial infection? I'm on my 5th of 7th day and have developed a very thick clear to cloudy mucousy discharge. Is this normal. I know the gel form will pull everything out in a thick white chunky discharge but does the oral pill.
Avatar m tn My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.

Avatar n tn I agree with you 3doors hydrate, eat right and exercise. I always though everyone was crazy when they said exercise. But I relunctatly tried it and what do you know it really helped with the restless legs. That was always the worst for me, that and sweating like crazy. I never could go cold turkey either. I did finally tell my husband and he is such a great support for me.Hes amazing. This is it for me. No more going back now. Some time in the beginning of the week I'm off my taper.
Avatar f tn 1. Healthy diet: make sure you are getting enough fiber and that you cut down or out your dairy intake. Fiber helps cleanse your body of that extra estrogen that can make cramps more painful. Cut out greasy foods. 2. Exercise throughout the month. It will decrease cramps due to blood flow. 3. Heating pad. 4. Try supplements : Vitamin E, thiamine and Omega-3 5. Eat fish, the oils help 6. Reduce your stress levels, deep breathing "me" time 7.

Avatar f tn About 4 months ago i was discharged from hospital with a pescription for codeine phosphate 30mg. After i finneshed the corse i went back to my gp for a check up, when he put me on solpadol (codeine and paracetamol). Now i find my self having really bad withdrawl symptoms like insomnia and joint pain when i dont take codeine, im still taking between 90mg and 180mg a day. What should i do?
Avatar m tn Your current meds are Lipitor for cholesterol control, Coversyl (Often problematic with a rough sounding cough as a side effect) Minax which is a beta blocker Asprin and Eliquis most likely for anti clotting purposes. Amlodipine for BP or your heart condition. The above are a fairly standard level of treatment for Heart conditions. Its no joke and these are serious medications. So be careful, you need to fully brief your cardiologist first, on this to be sure its ok.
Avatar f tn Perhaps you might think about having a physical with a full blood work up. My Dr does that every year as I was on Perks for pain and the Doc wanted to make sure the liver was ok. If not, perhaps a new Dr might be in order. Do you think possibly the use of the meds might be for emotional pain too? Once I crossed the line of pain and more pills to cover up the emotional/stress I knew I was in trouble and hooked big time. Good luck and welcome to the forum. You will find lots of support here.
Avatar m tn Male, 38. For the past decade or so I have a recurring bad breath issue and doctors and dentists have failed to trace the cause. My dental/mouth hygiene is good, I don't have current digestive problems (did have an ulcer in the past but that seems unrelated) and I tested negative for H. Pylori. I don't have tonsil stones either. Despite testing negative for H.
Avatar m tn Did you stop painkillers suddenly? Are you having withdrawal symptoms? Other than that, no way to tell why you're feeling like that. If you're having withdrawal we'll support you on here. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I tested positive for C Difficile Culture and negative for Cytotoxin B Production. I was prescribed Cipro 500mg 2x for 3 days. I was also instructed to finish Metronidazole 500mg 3x a day that was previously prescribed for suspected parasite. I tested negative for a parasite. I took z pack and Cipro one month ago. I believe one or both of these antibiotics could be a contributing factor in getting c diff.
