Avatar n tn have daily short/long term memory loss for past 8 months that aware of... with this memory loss go away....?
Avatar f tn About a month before or around the same time my memory problems started, there was a period of 2 months where my epilepsy got extremely bad. I was having grand mal seizures twice a week and was always exhausted, but after 2 months I decided to raise my medication dosage on my own because I couldn't function normally and no one would help me with my medication.
Avatar m tn t rule out the epilepsy/seizures just yet. I had absence seizures and a few grand mals for about twenty years. I tried various medications and had doctor after doctor tell me that I just needed to stay on an anticonvulsant all my life. Every one I tried seemed to turn me into a zombie and I would still have seizures. Sometimes I had fewer, but I still had them. It wasn't until discovered that there was a surgery that might help me and pushed to get that done that I got some relief.
Avatar n tn Plus you wont have to worry about forgetting something. Everytime I go to the drs. I forget something if I dont write it down (must be those memory problems). Good Luck! I hope everything goes well!
Avatar m tn t always a reason people have seizures - does this mean it could be epilepsy? I now have short term memory loss and am in my final 30-day PIP plan for poor performance at my job due to my memory loss. I fear I'll lose any job I obtain because of my medical condition. Does the short term memory loss return after being on medication?
Avatar f tn Are your brother in law's seizures refractory? If they are, chances are his worsening memory issues are a result of his refractory epilepsy, although certain medications can make things worse. Epileptic acticity causes scarring of tissue; the hippocampus is unfotuantely very prone to scar as a result of seizures, and is often an onset sight for refractory complex partial seizures, if that is what your brother in law has.
Avatar n tn I have developed neurological problems over the past few monthes. Including part. seizures. Things seem to be progressing. Does anybody know first hand if the treatments and the problems 6 years later are conected?
Avatar m tn If all brain related causes (transient ischemic attack, disorders of hypothalamus, dementia and multiple sclerosis, head injury etc) are ruled out then Vit B12 deficiency, chronic fatigue syndrome, sleep disorders (by sleep studies), depression, use of certain drugs, and certain types of seizures (where memory loss is the predominant symptom) should be investigated for as the cause of memory loss.
Avatar f tn Sorry....I meant the side effects of TAKING meds are better than the side effects of STOPPING the meds.
Avatar m tn I would not want to stress memory problems to a boss. Instead, think of ways to avoid emergencies. Keep a few extra pills in your desk, preferably locked up, and a reminder note in your phone about picking up your prescription. It is a management problem.
Avatar n tn I have had periods of migraine headaches followed by black outs, memory loss, and was hospitalized for seizures. I was placed on a seizure med which I had a terrible reaction to. My driver license has been revoked due to an accident - I drove off a bridge. My headaches have become unbearable and I am having problems finding information that links the TGA, seizures, and migraines.

Avatar f tn Since taking this medication she seems to have memory loss under stressful situations, mainly exams and her grades have dropped by 30 percent. She was always a good student and studies a lot. Nothing else explains the change and her understanding during lesson time is great according to her teachers. Is there an alternative to tegratol which does not have these side effects, or do all anti epileptic drugs cause these problems?
699912 tn?1235667950 I have emotional problems which from research can come from problems with the partial lobe. I want my seizures to be controlled as well. I am really scared. They want me to be a candidate for brain surgery. Can anyone tell me their stories on how it has been for them? Help!
577118 tn?1233250750 I don't know if it's Paxil or the seizures. I didn't start having seizures until I was on Paxil for a little while, and I didn't have short term memory loss until after I started taking Paxil. It all correlates to the same time. I'm concerned because I have read other people having the same complaint about it. I am seeing a doctor this coming Monday, though, to find out for sure. I shouldn't have to be 22 years old with a worse memory than my grandmother.
Avatar f tn Seizures are also a consideration, especially if your symptoms appear to be occurring episodically. Seizures can present as confusion or memory loss, and do not necessarily need to have motor involvement. A normal EEG may not necessarily rule out this possibility, especially if you did not experience any symptoms during monitoring. Another group of problems that can cause thinking problems and fatigue are psychiatric.
7486852 tn?1410352184 I am curious if anyone else has problems like nerve damage, headaches/migranes, pressure feeling in the back of head, pain in temples, vision and concentration/memory problems, chronic pain/fatigue/weakness, muscles spasms all over randomly, neck pain and stiffness, and burning or shocking sensation going down the back of neck to spine, pressure feelings sometimes shocking sharp pains in chest and in lower ribcages.
Avatar m tn A good friend of mine was in a bad car accident and was taken to the hospital about a year and a half ago. He had many broken bones, a collapsed lung, and a traumatic brain injury. Previous to the accident he was a daily pot smoker. He's doing really good now and has had no problems with breathing, although he does have some trouble with his short term memory from time to time. This may be due to the past weed smoking, but he is leaning toward smoking weed again.
446356 tn?1205202631 my friend has been playing with the pills and has got some memory loss larissa said that playing with pills you can get seizures total memorie loss and other problems I don't understand why pills are such a big deal to take
410208 tn?1253658950 I have no memory of the seizures or for awhile after and only my husband has really seen me have one so I can't be of much help with the personal experience. I have intense ringing in my ears before hand and can usually tell someone at least 5 minutes before that something is happening.
Avatar f tn Now, if she IS on medicine for seizures, next to the list of problems she has, you could put out beside seizures....treatment dilaudid, or whatever her medicine is. If you have any notion as to what you think it is, at the very top put what you think with a question mark, like ...tumor? I hope that helps to organize your thoughts. Just put down a list, a title with question mark, and any meds she takes for her various problems, if any.
Avatar n tn lately I have noticed alot of problems in strength/mobility in arms. Especially the right arm. Headaches, memory problems, light headness, vission problems and even twitches. I am tired alot I am sick of this. There has to be a cause.
Avatar f tn When I was around 7 or 8 I started having funny feelings in my head, and would have them multiple times a day. Then I would get a really strong feeling in my head and see random images as if I was watching tv. After I would throw up and have confusion, like I didn't know who I was or where I was. I thought it might have been petit mal seizures and went to the doctors, they said I was fine and they would go away.
Avatar n tn t recall If I had any memory problems before this happened but I always did well in school until recently my memory seems to have gotten a lot worse. I haven't had a diabetic seizure in about 2-3 years, but lately I will talk to friends and repeated tell them the same thing each time I see them because I don't remember ever telling them. I always recheck everything I do because I never remember doing it, like locking a door or turning lights off.
Avatar n tn The doctor said it was either migraine (she has never had these before in her life and her weakness and memory do not improve afterward) or seizures. I have also heard from nurses that it could be autoimmune such as Lupus. Any ideas? I appreciate any feedback from anyone who has dealt with these types of symptoms before. Thanks.
