Avatar m tn I suffered the general symptoms when i first started, nausea, vertigo, blurred vision, loss of appetite but that went away after 2 or so weeks and i have minor continuing symptoms of skin discoloration but i have noticed that over time my cognitive ability has decrease and my memory doesn't seem to retain even the simplest request. My mind feels fuzzy and impaired. Can minocycline be the cause to my mental decrease?
Avatar n tn He did a workup and sent me for an MRI and an ENG. My MRI was clear . My symptoms were extreme fatigue, confusion, memory loss, and vertigo. I now have developed numbness/tinglin in my left hand. I wanted to know is an ENG used to rule out MS or am I dealing with something else here. He said my vertigo was caused by my migraines and has put me on a beta blocker and it has helped a little but not alot. He also wants me to take prednisone for 9 days.
Avatar m tn But there are many, many things we can do to exercise our brains, which will help to regain some of what we may have lost. Also, there are lot of strategies to cope with memory loss. Personally, I use so many strategies to assist my memory that I have my boss fooled into thinking I have a better memory than he does! (My husband knows better). Welcome to our forum, Hoss63. It is a great group. You will probably have lots of questions, as everyone does when they are newly diagnosed.
Avatar n tn Thats good to know isnt it, I definatly believe that meds we have to take affect us and hace side effects so I guess you have to go with the shots then when they are done your memory will get better ,why do you take 2 cholesterol drugs? ask if you can take one.
215164 tn?1269466240 It is thought that severe pain (ie short-lived extreme pain) can negatively affect memory, in both long-term and short. I myself am currently experiencing memory loss. I am only 22, but I was diagnosed with CMT at 8, and have already undergone 4 foot surgeries (so I am near the extreme end of the spectrum). From my perspective, chronic pain can easily be equated to severe pain, as it becomes harder for the body to endure the longer it exists.
Avatar f tn I received all of these from sports and have since pulled myself from such dangerous situations but I fear I am still dealing with the after effects of my reckless youth. After my last concussion I had extremely bad vertigo, memory loss, and headaches. They got so bad I had to get a Cat Scan because they thought my brain might be bleeding, thank god it was negative. Well I recently got in a car accident and have no clue if I did hit my head or not.
Avatar f tn lethargic, nausea, lightheaded, headaches, memory loss, unable to eat certain food groups like meat or dairy without stomach issues, heart palpitations, possible vertigo, easy bruising, and balding. I’ve done tests and been examined. I am still waiting on my mole biopsy but everything else came back clear. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
383943 tn?1217722721 I have just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, so I don't know that much about it. I reccomend that you make an appointment with a pain management specialist. They should be able to diagnose you, that is how I got diagnosed. After talking to the doctor, he knew that I had it, but after he examined me, he was positive about it. I wish you the best of luck.
Avatar f tn Hi Doctor Newey, Thank you for the response. That's the thing--it's not really dizziness; I just don't have another word for it. Feeling unbalanced and uncoordinated is possibly a better way to describe it. Likewise, my headaches aren't really headaches...it's more like a sharp pain on this one very specific spot on the back/side of my head. The pain is almost ALWAYS there, so it gets frustrating when people dismiss it as migraines.
Avatar f tn Hi, I would suggest a evaluation through an ENT specialist since she has vertigo. It might be benign positional vertigo. Besides memory loss may also occur due to Alzhiemer's disease (old age) or any other anxiety disorder. Please consult a ENT specialist and neurologist together to precisely reach at the diagnosis. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn ALthough he hasnt had any blatant memory issues, a few months ago when he was putting in a door (a hobby of his is remodling, building) he said it tooke him 30 minutes to remember how exactly to do it, even though he has done things like this for years. He hasnt had any memory loss as to person place or time, or any day to day living sort of memory loss...My father only goes to the doctor for a routine checkup about every 2 yrs or so. He is very healthy normally.
Avatar f tn I had tests with a neuro for Vertigo crystals and I was fine. My memory loss is frightening me. I have no recollection of going to certain places, seeing some movies etc.. my sister reminds me regularly of things we have done or spoken about and she looks at me stating "you have no idea what I am talking about do you?"... I have headaches (not frequent) on the right side of my head and a fullness in my right ear (had my ear checked and there isn't anything to be seen)...
Avatar f tn I guess my fiance says I have memory loss since I was pregnant. Our daughter is a month now and I guess he says I see and hear things differently then how they happen or do things I don't know I did. He said it has been since I was pregnant not before. Has this happened to anyone?
Avatar m tn I've had memory loss due to vitamin B12 malabsorption, hypothyroidism, and severe stress. Alzheimer's is also called Diabetes Type 3. A book you might want to read is called Brain Grain by David Perlmutter M.D.
Avatar n tn I am a year and half post tx and I am experiencing memory loss, processing information (use to have a wonderful sense of direction) and just not myself. I have a very hectic job and I feel there are times I cannot keep up--and yes my confidence has diminished...anyone out there feel the same way...???
Avatar m tn But doing this resulted in side effect like shrinking of brain leading to memory loss. He is in critical condition now. Is there any solution for this. If yes, please give that advice fast.
Avatar n tn After coratid artery surgery, experiencing memory loss which is not consistently short term or long term, is it possible for the brain to reconfigure areas damaged by particles that passed through the filter and regain the ability to remember? This discussion is related to short term memory loss.
562833 tn?1233756109 Does anyone or has anyone experienced memory loss over pain killers. I feel I am losing my mind half the time. I can't remember what I was about to do, or what I need to do. And where I put stuff, I am really starting to worry about this, along with all the other things, I am worried about. maybe this is just part of my OCD. I tend to worry about everything and keep stressing about it.
Avatar m tn re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking. It can be associated with many other things, too - from different medications, mental or cognitive health conditions, and even sometimes stress. I think it is very important that you speak to a doctor who can survey your health & lifestyle profile to work with what is known - and other factors that may not be known.
