I have had sleep apnea for many years and recently I have been experiencing short periods of memory loss . I will be doing something then I will forget what I was doing or where I am . It only lasts for 5 to 15 seconds then I am back to normal and I remember what I was doing and where I am. I am able to function during these episodes . It seems to happen when I am relaxed as apposed to when I am concentrating on something. Any idea as to what is happening ?

About an hour later he suffered a brief episode (1-2 min) of short term memory loss. He could not remember the weekend holiday or do sums. Other than feeling cold he did not exhibit any physical symptoms. He had another episode about three weeks later. A neurologist examined him and found nothing but set up an EEG. He has had no other episodes. Any suggestions as to what to ask during/after the EEG or what the potential cause might be? Thank you.
In 2007 he had a hip replacement done and ended up having 3 operations within one week because of complications. My question is could the buildup of medications etc cause him to now have memory loss, language skills loss and tremors in his right hand. He walked in to the hospital on crutches and now is dependent on a wheelchair.

My question really is about memory loss. I am only 24 years and I feel like I am too young to be experiencing this kind of memory loss; I don't know what you want to call it but I just think maybe it's getting worse?
I always had a little hard time remembering things but recently I think it has reached a level now where it is impacting me and my surrondings. Less than a week ago, I lost my iphone, (or so I thought) when going at the post office.
After she stopped taking the pain medication (oxicodine) she has memory loss. At first it was little things, but now she does not know what year it is, how old she is, or that she just had surgery. She does have some memory, like she knows who me and my sister are and what she does for work. Another symptom is that she says her body is soar, like she lifted a bunch of weights.
We are looking for any type of input/advise. Her doctors have been doing every test and scan.
I had some memory issues certainly during treatment. For months afterwards I could sense an idea, concept or name on the tip of my tongue...I knew I knew it, often I could visualize it perfectly, but I just couldn't formulate the word(s) and say it. It was very frustrating. But now I'm one year post tx and things seem much better, still the occassional hiccup, but much better overall.
ve been noticing some severe short term memory loss problems. Im extremely worried and concerened about my well being, Im not sure what to do. Is this normal? Is it permanent? Should I switch medications? Also an alternate question regarding Celexa; Is it completely out of the question to take Celexa during your pregnancy?
There was somewhat more memory loss than the normal memory loss of depression. Bonce reminded, I usually got it back.
The procedure is not scary unless you dislike short-term anesthesia, and, of course, you're not conscious for about 5 or 10 minutes. Where I went I was doing this outpatient. The saff and medical personnel were pleasant and respectful.
Memory loss soon after surgery can be attributed to anesthesia. Sometimes a stroke which can occur during surgery can cause memory loss. But memory loss after so many years after surgery may not be related to gallbladder removal. And no studies have been done to associate gallbladder removal with memory loss.

re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking. It can be associated with many other things, too - from different medications, mental or cognitive health conditions, and even sometimes stress. I think it is very important that you speak to a doctor who can survey your health & lifestyle profile to work with what is known - and other factors that may not be known.
