lyrica

Avatar m tn ve been a diabetic for almost 10 yrs now and have neuropathy as well as chronic back/ neck pain. I also have some pretty severe nerve damage in my legs from my back injury and had back surgery in 2007. Any way, I take lyrica twice a day 150 mg in am & 150 mg at night, and it has really helped alot with the pain. Im also on norco for my back / neck pain, but the lyrica has been a great help to me. However it is expensive if you don't have insurance.
Avatar n tn I have not had decompression surgery yet, but plan to schedule it this summer. My main symptom is upper back and neck pain. I agree with Shane99. I've been on Lyrica for a year and a half. I'm not crazy about the idea of being on too many medications for long periods of time. But, I start hurting more when I forget to take a dose. Or if I try to come off of it slowly, I notice that I'm in more pain. I have found that my pain isn't nearly as bad when I am exercising...
Avatar f tn They keep the brain from being overwhelmed. But in the case of nerve damage or a nerve system malformation (Like Chiari or Fibromyelgia) they can help tremendously with chronic pain. I only know of Paroxetine and Cymbalta from what I've read, but to be honest, I think the risks of side-effects are pretty dangerous, I'd suggest you ask your doctor about Lyrica instead. Lyrica also can have side effects, but so can any drug.
Avatar f tn Neurontin, Lyrica for the nerve pain, and Baclophen or Flexeril for the muscle spasms. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I have a lingual nerve damage for two years, I have no live, I'm seriously consider to put a end to my life, I can not live anymore like this. I have pain and a burning sensation in my tongue for 24 hours a day.
Avatar f tn After 2 more spinal fusions to correct the problem it was determined that the problems i am having cannot be corrected. I am left with permanent damage and neupathic nerve pain. To add to it my lower back has disc compression issues. I have been getting injections for this when its unbearable, but im apprehensive about surgical treatment. I have been on (6 yrs) Gabapentin, now at 1200mg 4 times a day along with Oxycontin and breakthu oxycodone.
Avatar f tn I donated blood five years ago and believe I got nerve damage in my arm from it. After donating, my arm hurt for many months and every now and then the pain would come back. For the past week, I have had dull pain in that same arm, starting from the middle and going down towards my hand. I work on my computer frequently so it is possible it is related to that, but I do not have any pain in my left arm.
Avatar m tn I know it's different for everyone but I have tried lyrica and it didn't help at all my doc wanted me to try it before I got surgery for two cracks on my l5 vertabrae that eventually got fused and screws but it just didn't work my father also tried it for pain and it didn't work either neither one of us noticed any side effects tho it will prob help for the pain from nerve damage u talked about because I believe it's actually for nerve pain but I don't think it will help
Avatar m tn The only medication that helps with nerve pain is nerve meds like Xanax Valium, Gabitril, ect I have permanent nerve damage and took Gabitril for a while then when my symptoms lessened started taking the Valium as needed. The Valium also helps with leg spasms. Complex B vitamins help to heal the nerves. I was on a medication called Mentanx which is just a complex b vitamin mix and it was working. Unfortunately I have herniated disc and had to stop due to the pain.
669241 tn?1236264344 ve been told that it is not addictive. They use Lyrica for Fibromyalgia. For me, it did not work. I used it for about 3 months and had too many side effects and could not function at work with it and had to stop. But, it did work for my pain. Good luck!!!
232778 tn?1217447111 After trying anti-fungal creams, and steroids, the thought is that it is nerve damage. Likely in my neck or spine (as both hands, would be too large an area of brain to cover both hands). Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts on whether it is a SOC side effect, or not (given that I stopped SOC 3 months ago)? Chemotherapy is listed as a cause of peripheral nerve damage, this problem is also common with HIV patients, and diabetics.
Avatar n tn If nerve damage is the cause for your tinnitus, its unlikely that niacin will help. For nerve damage medications like amitriptyline or lyrica may help. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
20805181 tn?1515210979 Dr prescribed me Lyrica for nerve damage in my neck. I was taking 300mg twice daily but it seemed to wear off too soon, So I bumped it up to 3 times daily and it's perfect. Is it safe?
Avatar n tn lyrica is mostly for nerve pain..I just had fusion...lyrica is of little help..side effects are not great..dizziness, loss of concentration etc..
Avatar n tn I have b een taking Lyrica for by back for several months. Lyrica is also for nerve damage. I have been 3 days without it(300mg a day) and I must say it truley does help.
Avatar n tn I had some severe problems in my abdominal cavity that were undiagnosed. for a very long time and that caused the damage. Unfortunetly for me Lyrica helps my pain allot (hate the weight gain but oxycontin caused more gain then the Lyrica). Without it the Oxycontin is not enough. I wish the Neurontin worked because it is allot cheaper. Abdominal nerve damage is tricky to treat because most of the pain meds cause constipation so I can't take the 2nd Oxycontin everyday.
Avatar n tn However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.
Avatar f tn I have been perscribed Lyrica for motor and century nerve damage. I do not have pain but tingling and burning sensation, which is sporadic, the burning that is, the numbness is constant. This throws my balance off and I am not able to walk without cane, walker, or holding onto something. Should I see a Neurologist? Is Lyrica something that will help with the numbnes? I take blood pressure medicine, warfarin, anti- depressant and Nexium. Should I take Lyrica? Than you.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm trying to find out more information from others who are going through ilioinguinal/iliohypogastric nerve damage or neuralgia. I've been suffering from groin pain and numbness of my right leg after an ovarian egg retrieval. This was my third egg retrieval as an egg donor. Somehow during this last retrieval nerves were damaged most likely due to scar tissue being built up or the needle damaging the nerves.
Avatar n tn Hello Kay I reply regarding your question is there a treatment for nerve pain. Well at the moment i too am suffering nerve damage down my right hand side it starts in my buttock and spreads down my leg. I am currently under pain management and have been since this problem occurred. They prescribed me gabapentin 300mg 1, 3xa day, then increase the medication to 2 3x a day. I am now taking 3 3x a day they are not working for me.
Avatar m tn Then that eventually went away and the spacey-forgetfullness began. It helped with my nexk pain but did nothing for my leg pain and the nerve damage in them. My pain management dr prescribed it to me for FM and nerve damage pain. I hope u feel better.
1380526 tn?1292839385 t seem to be working either. Should I be seeing some results by now, or is it too soon? Anyone else had Lyrica for nerve pain like this? Or has something else helped? It is a horrible pain several times a day...Like bare nerve ends shooting through my face for several minutes at a time!!!!!!
Avatar f tn Does anyone know of something natural that helps relieve nerve pain? I have nerve damage from previous back injuries and cannot take the lyrica I was taking to control the pain. I've been managing as best as I can up until recently. My baby is sitting comfortable on a nerve which is not so comfortable for me and I can hardly move.
Avatar n tn I have had pernicious anemia for 4 years. I have neurological damage to my legs and feet. they sting, they burn. My neurologist gave me Lyrica but it only takes the edge off. The dr. said that the nerve damage is similar to diabetic neuropathy. I don't have any tremors, not have I heard of this. Now I take B-12 dots under my tongue every day. Twin Labs makes them and they can be bought in the health food store. My levels in my blood tests is high. Hope I helped.
Avatar m tn Have seen pcp, ,, rheumatologist, neurologists. The most I have received is telling me I have some peripheral nerve damage. All have quickly said it is alcohol related, but no one has an explanation of the joint and muscle pain. Now I have been sent to a pain specialist. I say I am willing to accept it if it is all alcohol related, but maybe I am not because I also think something is missing. I have read a lot about a lot on line because I don't do much else due to the discomfort.
3135221 tn?1342670604 m thinking its nerve problems or a nerve damage, I just need some advice on what else it could be, does pinch nerves happen after compression on the chest? I'm just worry about having to be on meds everyday for the rest of my life just to feel relief.
