low estradiol levels

hello ladies, i just had my day 3 labs done ,and come to find out that my estrogen levels are extremly low, lt was 16. my obgyn told me not to worry about this and we would try clomid. ( which i know i dont have problems ovulating. i have been reading and i believe that estrogen plays a very important role in conceiving! am i wrong? do levels get higher throughout your cycle? has anyone had troubles conceiving with low levels? . can someone take estrogen supplements?

I hope I font sound foolish, but what is ESTRADIOL and what does it mean if your levels are low/high???

I recently took some blood tests which show normal levels of IGF-1, Prolactin, Testosterone, Estradiol, but low levels of Luteinizing Hormone and low levels of Follicule Stimulating Hormone. Does this indicate anything?

s office right before they trigger me.. this time they said it was a little low, but thats to be expected with the femara (since it blocks estrogen production) Anyone know what that can do if its low? THANKS SO MUCH!

On my first cycle they started me off on 75 IUI follistim and I ended up with so many follicles they had to cancel me, but still had a low estradiol level.They then had me do 25 IU fiollistim with an LH Luveris which worked and my estradiol levels were consistent with my follicle production.

I know people who had higher estradiol levels when their ovaries were resting. 19 seems SO low! I just hope that I am a slow responder and that with the up'd meds, my levels will increase. I'm only 29, so I can't imagine not responding to stims. Who knows though. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

It is hard to predict. The higher levels of estrogen may promote the midcycle LH surge, which is what urine OPKs look for. If this happens, the surge might come a couple of days earlier. This is called positive feedback. On the other hand, the higher estrogen levels my inhibit LH (this is called negative feedback) delaying the surge. You will need to test for ovulation to find out.

My reproductive endo says I am low in estrogen (I am 32) so I am contemplating some sort of hormone replacement therapy (Vivelle-dot and prometrium).

Hello, I am writing because I have lots of symptoms of PCOS and 5 years ago I went through fertiltiy and found that I have PCOS, but now 5 years later I had my hormone levels taken just by family doctor and they say they are normal but what is normal. I really do not agree with this because it seems as though being in the 200 levels is low for 30 or even 40. Your levels will drop the older you get but these levels should only be found in like a 70 to 90 year old. Now I am not a doctor, but this seems like common since to me that if your this young with this low of testerone, they would do something. It is considered a controlled narcotic so maybe thats why.

I just had it tested and my Estradiol level is 67. The lab report says the level should be <56 pg/mL. I'll talk to my Endo, but any ideas on what causes high Estradiol levels in a 41 year old male? 6 (reference range 2 - 18 ng/mL) ESTRADIOL - 30 (reference range 13 - 54 pg/mL) SHBG - 32 (reference range 7 - 49 nmol/L) I was thinking I need to lower my SHBG and ESTRADIOL levels since my % Free Testosterone is off the charts low. Maybe I need more free testosterone. I really don't know much about this, please let me know what you think. Thanks !

My ultrasound was positive for follies, but once again, my levels were low. Not as low as the first time, but lower than what they would have hoped. Has anyone had this issue with IVF? If so, did your levels turn around? I'm sooo frustrated...I just don't know what to do!!!

Hello. I am a 34yo with a past history of hodgkins lymphoma(almost 10 years ago) and currently hypothyroidism for which i take 75mcg of Levothyroxine daily. I was told by my oncologist that fertility would not be an issue. My husband and I stopped contraception (condoms) over a year ago and I have never used anyother type of contraception my whole life. We have been activey trying for about 5 months to no avail.

ve been feeling the symptoms of menopause so had my levels checked. Total estrogen came back as 892 pg/ml. The doctor is telling me this is within normal limits of the lab that tested my blood. Well, the IUI worked (yay!) and the nurse I talked to said that I was supposed to stay on the estradiol and prometrium until I was 8 weeks. I mentioned that estradiol says it can cause birth defects and to not take it if you become pregnant. She said I was ok because my levels were low to begin with.

I am almost 37 years old and doing a hormonal profile this month (b/w every other day, basically!!) I had Estradiol draws pre-o, and now Estradiol and Progesterone draws post-o! On Peak +3, my Estradiol was 70 (went from 104 to 323 to 70) and my progesterone was 5.8. It is only 3DPO, but I am trying to get an idea of whether it's a 'good' number or not - Any help will be appreciated!!!!

We did IUI last month but it was unsucessful. All levels are normal except estradiol which was above 80. Up untill two months ago she had LH surge every cycle. Now all of the sudden nothing. Last month no surge on opk but on ultrasound she had a good follicle so we did the IUI. Has anyone had success with preg when estradiol is high? If so we would love some advice.

m in the early stages of premature ovarian failure, or are there other causes of low estradiol? I have an appointment with an endocrinologist in February, but I'm really scared, and could use some information now. Thank you for your time.
