193609 tn?1292180293 So when people cut back or out on these types of foods, they tend to load up on foods that are lower in calories (most of the time) so they do actually end up eating restricted calories to some degree even if they arent adamently tracking their calorie intake. The quality of your calories and carbs do make a difference though so I cut back on most processed packaged foods and eat as many whole or real foods as possible.

Eat olive oil, ghee, butter, coconut oil, cheese, avocado, nuts and seeds, cream, whole milk... stay away from low carb low calorie foods, processed foods, breads, rice, oats.. starchy foods. If you take 250 mg at each meal that is 750 mg a day, the limit is 2400mg a day so you have room to go up on the Met. It can take 6 to 8 weeks for met to become fully effective.
Avatar n tn Here's the tricky thing with ultra high protein meals...protein is insulinogenic. When your body receives lots of protein, it promotes the secretion of insulin. It's odd how this has not become common knowledge. Everybody points the finger to sugar and carbs as insulinogenic foods, but protein flies under the radar. If you google "rank list of insulinogenic foods" you will see that protein rich foods are high on the list, next to the carbo and sugary stuff.

I do not think the food I eat now is that bad and I don't eat much at all really and usually only 2 times a day. I will eat anything but fish. Avatar n tn ve been controlling it now with out any medication for over a year at first the only thing that help me lower it was basically cut all foods with lots of sodium I would mimize it slowy till I stop using salt and other products with a lot of salt and trust me it's really hard specially Cus I love salty foods but I got so use to it and working out helped out even more that I don't miss it much once in a while ill eat things with salt and that's becuase as much as u try to prevent them
Avatar f tn Went through the same thing. Diabetes made me really thirsty. As a result, I drank a lot of water, diet soda and juice. This caused me to flush out all of the vitamins and minerals of my body. I am reallllly low on just about everything. Just started suplements and a big daily dose of magnesium as suggested by my nutritionist. Since I've eaten very low carbs and kept my sugar lower in addition to the supplements, the cramps are gone.

And use MEAT as the primary ingredient NOT a meat by-product. the listed foods are also void of any questionable preservatives such as BHA, BHT and ethoxyquin. they also do not contain soy, wheat or corn. the list is not comprehensive. these are a few examples of higher quality products.

Avatar m tn I can't add too much to the good advice you've already received but just a couple comments: Binge eating is often a combination of emotional (using food to deal with feelings) and physical. Carbs and sugar most of all are truly addictive. When you eliminate the sugar and reduce your intake of carbs you may find you have a significant reduction in cravings. Then you just need to deal with the psychological aspects.
790165 tn?1268836968 Grapes instead of bananas are a better choice as bananas are higher in carbs. Now, I do not mean to go on a strict low carb diet....as that would be very hard for most of us. But all I say is watch the amount you take in. When I was really following my diet (and not having personal problems) I lost 62.5lbs down to 270 at my all time lowest weight. Sad to say I have gained about 18lbs of that back, but still maintaining with not eating so many carbs.

I don't really overeat, and the things that I do eat, I think out and try to make healthy meals, but I still ended up with gestational diabetes. Unfortunately, it's just something that happens because of all of the weird things that happen in pregnancy. I've learned to just go with it... That being said, I was advised to count how many grams of carbs that I take in and what foods contain them.
