Avatar f tn kimmit is right about the fruits - many of them have a lot of sugar in them, which can raise your blood sugar too high; they also tend to have more calories. In addition, when you do eat fruit, make sure you go for whole fruit rather than juice because while juices might have some vitamins/minerals, they also tend to have more calories, without the filling fiber. Likewise, smoothies can be good for you, but it depends totally, on what you put in them.

212161 tn?1599427282 thank you , i have been told am prediabetic so they gave me a machine to keep up with sugar readings in the mornings after 8 hours its any where between 110-139 after meals its anywhere between 139-169 so not sure if i am or not. if i dont eat a lot my sugar gets to 79 i dont eat bt two meals a day so it runs low when i dont eat. so sgould i have a AC1 would that tell me if i am or not. and if it says its low than with the high readings that means nothing?

I'm sorry, but it doesn't work that way! For a Type II diabetic the correct step for you and your doctor to take is to start you on some oral medications and help you to learn the right way to eat. I agree with the person who said not to think of it as a diet but as good nutrition. Please don't be afraid to eat!

There are theoretical studies and a lot of people selling diets with small studies, but it's not carbs that are a problem, it's the type of carbs for some people. It's the type of protein consumed and the quantity. Animal protein is associated with more weight gain than plant protein, other than fish.

My primary determined it was not my thyroid because we moved my doses every three months or so and nothing worked. I finally decreased it since my FT4 was too high as well as my reverse. Since along with the headaches I started to lose weight and get constipated among other things (and my hair loss got worse) I did some testing and my vitamin D is 14.

And remember stress can set off attacks, so relax. Dont raise your heart beat too often.

Avatar n tn I have type 1 and I am not as good as everyone else but I'm only in my teenage phase and I'm the only one in my family who has it so it can be a little more difficult to handle. But I don't understand is when I eat and I take medicine for it it never seems to be the right amount and I go to my doctor they change it but I'm usally high sometimes and when I take more it is like I drop really low like in 50s and I don't know what I should do. Help if you understand!
