Ambien CR has not at all helped her to sleep. A neurologist we only saw twice wants to put her on Lexapro for anxiety and wondered if there is something better?

My story is almost unbelieveable its so messed up. Ive had back problems & chronic back pain since I was 10 years old. I found out very young I had a pretty bad type of scoliosis but not bad enuf for me to have to have metal rods or metal leg braces. My teen years were very painful for me during growing. I went to a chiropractor every two weeks alot of my teen years. I was of course too young for pain meds..in fact until my 30s I knew nothing about opiates at all.
but i am getting there. i have gave up on disability for now. i cant keep wishing for something, that just is not in the cards right now. maybe in a few years, then try disability again. maybe by then, i will have further medical and mental evidence. maybe in a way, losing disability right now is a hidden blessing. i always HAVE to find the good among the bad. what keeps me going and gives me hope. maybe i need to continue making my own income for now. eventhough it may not be a lot of money.
I added Boost High Protein for nutrition. Many foods I can eat one day I find unpalatable the next. Sometimes water upsets my system. Tests done December and January include abdominal CT, chest x-ray, barium swallow upper x-ray, barium swallow intestinal x-ray, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, pill-cam intestinal, and various stool samples. All appeared normal or were negative. Liver, AC1 and thyroid blood tests done at my family practitioner in November were normal.
Lott, he is new in town and has practiced in Illinois and Vegas. He wants to put me on lexapro, because I stopped taking my luvox.... but the side effects are the same with the lexapro as with the luvox... so why start a new medication???? Right??? Well, I was themost worried about the ativan because it can "slow everything down" Like I said in the previous posts, I was on 3 mg a day and now I am down to 1. I just dont feel that I should take such a high dose...
Yes I was on klonopin for at least 5 yes until last Dec. and then I tapered off. I've been on Lexapro and Wellbutrin for a long time. Either they are wearing off or I need something else. They are not helping me and I hate to go up on a dose.
Herbs, however, contain components that can trigger side effects and interact with other herbs, supplements, or medications. For these reasons, herbs should be taken with care, under the supervision of a health care provider qualified in the field of botanical medicine. If you are taking a medication for anxiety, do not change your dosage without consulting your physician! Many different types of medications are used in the treatment of anxiety disorders, including traditional anti-anxiety drugs such as benzodiazepines, and newer options like antidepressants and beta-blockers. These medications can be very effective, but they shouldn’t be thought of as a cure.
It's important that patients on these medicines don't stop taking their medicines because serious side effects can occur, such as worsening of the depressive symptoms that they initially took them for, including thoughts of suicide for some patients. This is just one study that will be further examined. The great thing is that it's been published in the Public Library of Science online journal.
I have been in and out of therapy for years and my last psychiatrist prescribed Adderall for me because I have absolutely NO energy and I drink about 10 cups of coffee a day just to keep me going. I also take Citalopram for major depression. I have always been very tired all of the time, I sleep when I'm depressed or to just escape from the world. I have no life, but my kids, whom I adore, they just drain me of everything.
I have such respect for anyone who has come off Tramadol and .... I don't know ... maintained a life? Mud mud mud everywhere. Walking thru mud. I just took vitamins and a big cup of Lecithin granules which are supposed to decrease anxiety. I feel frightened and alone. These are DRUG THOUGHTS. But they get scary. It's like randomly losing your mind, and then suddenly; "POP" you are back to "normal.
called my doctor again today and he said if i cannot tolerate it then it isn't the medication for me. he prescribed me Xanax to try out for a month, but he doesn't want me to rely on Xanax just to get me through the first weeks use of Sertraline, because of the risk of addiction and overuse. i discontinued my Sertraline tonight. there is no way i can live a "a few weeks" (a dreadful eternity) with a severe tremor until the medication "kicks in".
I had that happen, it was time for my dose and I was actually busy and missed it and that actually got me down .5 mg more for the day, and I've stuck to that dosage now as its tolerable. I would've never known that I would be ok with a bit smaller dose had I just taken it to " take it.
I am on 100 mg for migraines and am beginning to get blotchy tans on my face. I am also on Lamictal for seizures and Lexapro (10mg) for some current depression. Thanks!

I think this place attracts some of the most intelligent and caring people in the world. So gratifying. I haven't posted for a very long time ... but I will always keep this thread going. I remember so well the desperation I had to hear from anyone ... anyone about how they got off. Now there's years worth of posts from people round the world who kicked Tram.
I stick with it because I remember how the T-train caused INCREASED pain all over my body, in places I never imagined I could have pain. I stick with it because I can remember what it was like to be in the FOG of TRAM, to walk into a room, and forget why I was there, I stick with it because I would rather not get killed on my motorcycle from being too fogged to care what I was doing.
I have never moved moutains as fast as today. I feel Debbie - what was offered medically with this doctor I talked with today will definately be a step in the right direction. Here is some keys points you and I discussed to get this doctor the information she needs to do the evaluation if you chose to see her next week. 1. gather up her recent labs she had done and get a hardcopy of the report. A. - look that over and see if the Free T3 and Free T4 along with TSH was done. 1a.
