I am a cheerleader for my high school and while stunting I stubbed/jammed my thumb and ever sense then it has been hurting. I have a high pain tolerance so i really cant tell how bad it is. Its been 3 weeks almost 4 and it isnt swollen but every time its hit it hurts. The pain is located from my bottom thumb knuckle almost or to my wrist. What is wrong with it? should i see a doctor?
Its really swollen and hurts around the knuckle. Should I just tape it to the ring finger and let it heal? It feels a little better that way. I just don't feel like going to the doctor?
He then said to me well it isn't broken I think you jammed your finger. I told him I didn't jam my pinky finger because I would remember if I did. He then said I jammed it and just don't remember doing it. At that point I had nothing to say. ((VERY FRUSTRATED ) I had to pay for this office visit because I have pretty bad insurance. he gave me some Daypro (anti inflammatory) and sent me to physical therapy. I went twice and stopped going because IT WASN'T DOING ANYTHING FOR MY PINKY.
I had neurosurgery on October 6, 2008 and apparently a needlestick (not sure what it was for...maybe an IV) on my left wrist, about one inch above my hand (on the thumb side) caused similar problems to the ones described on this board. You can still see where the needle went in...there's a round swollen spot, about the size of a dime. I had a large 3 inch bruise next to it, traveling up my forearm.
Rashes or fungal infections Swollen lymph nodes sore throat Has a doctor said you have a low grade infection, but no antibiotic has fixed it? Every time I go to the doctor they say I have an infection and prescribe antibiotics or tell me to take like 9 vitamins a day.
