Does anyone else get an itchy rash on their upper neck and lower jaw area? I started getting this within the last year and have been on Levo for several years. It comes and goes, I will go for several weeks and not have it and then all of a sudden it shows up again. It seems to be mostly on the left side and kind of looks like acne but it doesn't act like it and it's really itchy. Just wondering if this is related to the hypothyroidism or something else altogether.
I've started suffering with very itching skin on the palms of my hands, its started with a rash, similar to a nettle rash, kind of little tiny lumps all over the palms of my hands, in-between my fingers and just over the tops of my fingers on the outer side, it itches like mad and if i scratch it, it goes red, sore and dry like eczema.
about a week ago i noticed my jaw line and neck became very itchy and also had a burning sensation. It's since gotten worse.I can feel tiny bumps on my skin but can't see any of them or see any redness. Please help me?
Hello, Such an itchy rash can be due to viral rashes or hives. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours. Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications.
They are terribly itchy, and are beginning to spread to my arm pits, stomach, breasts(cleavage), and my kneck and jaw. I thought at first maybe it was just dry itchy skin. I tried regular unscented dry skin remedy lotions like eucerine and aveeno. It is not getting any better, and continues to spread. I havent been using any new products or clothing fabrics and cannot think of anything new I may have been exposed to.
I have a gluten/wheat allergy and notice i still have rash even when i'm completely gluten-free. The last week the rash has traveled up my neck and is now on my jaw line, moving up my hairline. I do yoga and walk and don't feel I sweat enough to cause clogged oil glands or pores. I've been using Proactive for many years now and have found great relief with their oil free moisturizer and green tea lotion on my face. Proactive doesn't seem to have any effect on the rash.
About 1 month ago I began experiencing occasional itchiness underneath each side of my jaw bone. Sometimes red spots appear then they disappear. I am using a topical triple antibiotic ointment and that seems to calm itchiness. Two weeks ago I received vaccinations Hepatitus A, Yellow Fever and Typhoid for an upcoming trip to Africa. Itchiness is sporadic and not continual. Help.
Hi I am a healthy 26 year old woman. About three months ago, I had an itchy rash on my chest area, shoulders and back. My doctor diagnosed it as pityariasis. I had a biopsy of the rash and it showed that it could be a type of dermatitis or something viral. I took a medrol dose pack to get ride of the rash along with some ointment. About a week or two later, I developed hives on my back. They were flat and slightly raised.
Had for a while a very itchy ear which drive me insane at times. I got hold of some fatty ointment which seems to work, but I like to know what it is without having to race all over the place .
It can be red, swollen, and itchy. In contrast to an allergic contact dermatitis wherein the rash is due to an allergen. An allergen is something you are allergic to, such as rubber, hair dye, or nickel, a metal found in some jewelry. Some rashes form right away and others can take several days to occur. Try to keep the area clean and dry. Emmolients and antihistaminemay help. Do not manipulate the lesions to prevent secondary infection. Are there other signs or symptoms present?
It looks SIMILAR to the rash of measels, or like an intense raised, rough heat rash. The rash on my face hurts when I wash it, and the rash on my ears is itchy. If anyone has annnnny knowledge as to what this may be- it is greatly appreciated!!!
I have a recurring rash on my eyelid and occasionally beside my nose, always in the same area and on the same side. Neither of these itches, they just become red and rough, eventually flaking off. I also have chronic migraines and a great deal of knife-like facial pains, mostly in the lower jaw, but occasionally in the eye area. First of all, how do I treat this rash, and can these conditions possibly be related?
Another cause for the pain you are experiencing could be temporomandibular (TMJ) joint arthritis. This is the jaw joint and inflammation of this joint can cause pain on opening the mouth and tenderness on palpating behind the ear. Check with your doctor to rule out this condition. Lymph nodes which are enlarged greater than one cm are significant. However, you can follow up to see how they are progressing. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
I tried domperidone for a few days and was doing okay until day 4 when I became itchy all over especially on my lower jaw area with my skin becoming rough like sandpaper around the jaw line. This happened to me when I took Lipitor but on Day 7 and had to stop. I did not have any rash or hives like I did when I took Zoloft so I am wondering if this is a side effect or allergic reaction.
Hi I get this rash on my hands and on my back, the best way I can describe it is it looks like sun burn on the palms of my hands and across my shoulders and down the center of my back. It is painless but there is numbness in the area where the rash is....It is going on for months now and comes and goes. Anyone experience this?
I am also experiencing pain in my neck under my jaw bone. I don't feel any swollen lymph nodes, but my neck will feel like it is pulsating in that area. I have also been tested for HIV at 7 1/2 months past possible exposure...so I don't think I should be worried about that. I went to the emergency room last week because it got so bad . I have made an appt with a dermatologist, but took 3 weeks to get an appt. The emergency room doctor told me it was probably winter itch or stress.
Hello, From the symptoms you have described, it sounds like the itchy rash can be due to hives. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They are usually idiopathic but can be caused by viral infections or allergies also. Take antihistamines like Claritin or Zyrtec to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamine such as Benadryl is used usually at night to get urticaria control.
I sense relief then the symptoms return. Most days I can hear but am constantly aware that my ears are itchy. The challenge is to not itch. If I itch, I usually get flaky stuff that I literally can lift off my inner ear.If I itch too much it becomes wet and begins draining a wet clear fluid. Then at night, whatever side I lay on clogs shut. In the morning there is thick crusty crud that again I try not to pick at. Im obviously in continual circle of symptoms here.
all itchy arm sufferers....please look into brachioradial pruritus. My arms, and only my arms, have itched for 10 years. no rashes, no psiorias, excema etc. The creams, allergery pills..my list is extensive as to what I have tried but nothing worked. ---------------The only thing that helps are ice packs.
A few months back ( I don't remember exactly) I developed this itchy rash on my face (more specifically my cheek close to my jaw about an inch and a half from my mouth) at first it was just a few bumps. The bumps are almost like pimples but they are a light red. If I scratch it enough it will 'bleed' but not so much that I notice it until later. It's pretty dry except for when I scratch it, then puss comes out, it spreads to about the size of a silver dollar.
I have always had very good skin although somewhat dry and sensitive but never anything long lasting and my beauty regime is fairly regular. About 3 months ago I got a rash along the jaw line of my face that starts as little red spots (which are still there although not bumpy and they never came to a head. I used my normal tea tree oil to try and get rid of them and at certain times they were slightly itchy.

I do understand that stinging sensation will be noted, but after 2-3rd attempt of the treatment this bumps starts and on one specific part of my face (Right lower side of mouth/jaw/cheek area). Is this a rash? adult acne? rosacea? parasite? But how come it's just on one spot?
The final diagnoses was they thought the antibiotics caused lower gi bleeding and a yiest rash on my face. They prescribed me a cream to put on my rash. After two weeks on the cream the rash started going down and one totally has gone away but the other is still slightly there. I stopped having bleeding although my anus is still irritated. As well as my swollen node has gone down a lot it's still there but it was huge before its a lot smaller. I also have circular rashes under my chin.
I have suffered with an extremely itchy neck (mainly around the jaw line and directly under my chin.) for the past few months. There is no sign of skin irritation and my skin is not dry. I have had a small pea sized swelling in the side of my jaw for several years that has grown over time. over the past few months I have more of these swellings turn up in other areas of my body, including my cheek. I have visited various dfferent doctors and denstists who have all had mixed opinons.
I'm getting this rash all over my chest which looks like a maculopapular rash. It looks reddish and flat and small in size. I'm also getting a little bit of it on my back. Can this be associated with EBV? Is this common with EBV infection. It's already been 6 months and this rashes just started showing up recently. Although it shows up in one or 2 at a time per week only. Did you guys experience any rashes also? And if so, how does it look like and how long did it last?
