over the past two days i have developed itchy red sking on the inside of my lower legs, around the ankle area. what is this?
I have been dealing with itchy legs for over 15 years... and I am only 27! It is usually just my lower legs. I am so relieved to see that other people have my problem. My fiance thinks I am crazy I swear! And all my mom and doctor ever said was "put more lotion on". They just don't get it. It certainly can't be an allergic reaction... why would only my lower legs be allergic to something?
My husband has the same problem and a Type 2 diabetic. The skin on his legs and feet turn bright red and itch like crazy. None of the doctors seem to know what causes it and typical topical ointments; i.e., cortisone, calamine, Benadryl do nothing except make the areas burn more. Currently, when this happens, he is given an injection of Prednazone then a prescription capsule(s) for several days. We'd also like to find out why this is happening.

I am a type 2 and when my sugar levels get high I get exteremely itchy legs. I sometimes scratch them until they bleed. I also get twitchy legs. These conditions subside when my sugar levels drop - medication Metformin. Red wine is helpful as the alcohol lowers the sugar level.
it started two yrs ago after a car crash since then head aches, vision problems, and itchy legs... hip down both legs it just itches, shaving, and water does not bother it. i have gone to the doc and he gave me cream but made it worse. the only thing that helps is a very very hot shower talking about boiling water. then i will be fine for a couple of hrs then it comes right back.
My largest concerns are with itchy, burny pain at back of legs, esp. right leg; change in blood pressure, pulse; urinary problems. Is it the stenosis and/or back problems or what causing these problems, expecially the strange burny itchy pain in back of legs and urinary problems. SLE in remission so CKD moved from Stage 3 to 2 or 1. Thanks for your help.
When I was younger I would wake up in the middle of the night with such a strong urge to itch that I would sometime use a blade from a pair of scissors to relieve the itching, which often made my legs bleed. Even now, sometimes during the day if I'm out my legs can get so itchy I have to find a bathroom to itch my legs as the feeling is so insatiable. I don't use anything other than my fingernails to itch my legs anymore, but my legs are more itchy than ever.
For 4 months, I have suffered from a numb, itchy, and cold/burning right upper leg. It is also sensitive to the touch and I sometimes get stabbing pains in the same area. In June it started as a quarter size area...now it has increased to my whole front leg. I do have an appt. for an MRI next week, but am very curious about this until I get a final diagnosis. The doctor I chose to go to did not offer much info...he thinks I may have a damaged nerve in my back.

I have Type II diabetis. This had ledf to neuropathy in my legs and feet. I have lost a lot of strength and have big problem in getting out of a chair or any prone position. However, the bbiggest problem is in itching on the arms and legs. One dermotologist took skin samples and said did have a mild skin infection. He gave me a prescription for some skin cream. A second dermatologist siad "it's caused by diabetis". He said to use Sarna Original and to stop scratching.
I'm worried I might have diabetes... I have these symptoms: * Sores or bruises that heal very slowly * Dry, itchy skin * Blurry vision that changes from day to day * Unusual tiredness or drowsiness * Tingling and numbness in the feet and hands I am 19 with only my great grandma having diabetes (not sure what type…) I had my fasting blood glucose levels tested over 6 months ago and got 4 which is normal but these symptoms have only started within the last 4 months.
What are the usual effects of my itchiness at night especially on my arms and legs? My beddings are always been changed and also I wear a clean clothes at night. There are no rashes or sore on my arms and legs but its so itchy especially night time when I'm on bed already, this cause me not to sleep the whole night but itching the whole night. Am I have something to bothered about it? We are a family of diabetics and thyroid problems. Is this maybe the problem?

I recently develop very serious generalized itching mostly on my back arms, legs and back, which cool down when I take Benadryl, also when I scratched hard the area becomes instantly raised in weird snake-like fashion and turns a little red. I also started seeing this strain of Buttons under my chin, ant. and post. neck and lower back. At first I thought it was just acne, but they never turn yellow, just flesh colored or a little red.
Lately my skin has been itching me, occasionally in my back, arms and legs but most importantly on both my breasts around the nipple area where it is incessant. Can you help?
I have very itchy skin on my legs and under my arms. I was given an allergy test when I was young and said that I had an allergy to the cold. I moved from a town with filtered well water to a town with city water that contains chemicals. Reguardless I cant stop itching. I do not have raised bumps or a rash and no indication of an infection what so ever. It gets so bad that I have to itch it wil a hard hair brush. Any suggestions?
Ive had on and off mild itchy skin for a while now. At first my doctor thought it might be lymphoma itch. However, my CT scan test results said "no significant hilar, axillary and mediastinal lymphadenopathy". So my doctors ruled lymphoma out. My GI doc says I might have IBS or a mild IBD but my diarrhea symptoms are controlled with immodium. The itch itself is mild, its mostly on legs and back. If theres an itch on my back so I scratch it then it will return somewhere else on my body.
and some on my leg but they are not in like clusters? Anyone know what it is? Allergic reaction? Why would it be in small amounts in weird places.. and not clumping together when I scratch them? so weird.. I tried looking it up and I found another woman posted in another forum from another website and sooo many other women posted that they had the same thing happen exactly as mine, but none had an answer...
