Ibuprofen overdose possible

Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen overdose possible

ibuprofen

This was not an intentional overdose. I still feel weak and maybe shakey but it might be from being afraid. Will an untreated acetaminophen overdose always result in liver damage, and if that's the case, what can be done once the treatment window for acetaminophen toxicity is gone? Is a person with liver damage on a downward slope to end-stage liver disease or is it still possible no damage has occured?
Acetaminophen is metabolized by the liver. Doses of acetaminophen greater than the recommended doses are toxic to the liver and may result in severe liver damage. In other words, perhaps the 'hollow headedness' is due to liver reaction from large dose of acetaminophen. Best wishes!
Up until 5 years ago, I was on lithium for bipolar disorder (I was diagnosed in 2000), and had a very bad overdose experience in April 2008. I was immediately taken off of the drug and supplanted with another (Seroquel). This all may be purely coincidental.
Thanks for the replies everyone!!! All the info was helpful!!! I called my dr and he had me come in and changed me from Opana to something new called Nucynta. It still doesn't help as much as the percocet did so i'll be calling him again Monday. Or, maybe I just need to give this one some more time.
Both resulted in increased liver enzymes. I haven't had any ibuprofen in 4 days. Is it possible that my liver enzyme increase is a result of the "overdose" with the ibuprofen. My doctor has scheduled another blood work screening in two weeks. Will my liver enzymes decrease in this amount of time? Is there anything I can do to help decrease my liver enzymes?
I've started wearing a Tennis elbow brace, ice around elbow 2-3 times daily for 5-7 minutes, take Ibouprofen 200 each night (don't want to overdose myself) and take breaks in my work/try to use left arm as much as possible. Is there anything I should do differently?
Safe use of Robaxin has not been established with regard to possible adverse effects upon fetal development. There have been reports of fetal and congenital abnormalities following in utero exposure to methocarbamol. Therefore, Robaxin should not be used in women who are or may become pregnant and particularly during early pregnancy unless in the judgment of the physician the potential benefits outweigh the possible hazards.
Your doc may prescribe your meds but the HYDROCODONE / ACETAMINOPHEN is not good for your liver and depending how much you are taking may damage you liver just when you are trying to heal it. "If you do NOT have liver problems, the adult maximum dose of acetaminophen is 4 grams per day (4000 milligrams). If you take more than the maximum daily amount, it may cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease.
I do not want to increase the dose if at all possible. My sister died of a prescribed Morephine overdose. I am just wondering if there is another long term pain relief option. I hsve BC/BS insurance. I have a very simple question: I took 4200 mg of aspirin and 1000 ibuprofen... is it harmful enough to kill me?
It is important to take it as directed because overdose can cause acute liver failure. From the posted information, I derived that your pain is probably from kidney stones. Passing kidney stones can be extremely painful. It is important to hydrate as much as possible to help flush them out. Once the stones pass through, the pain will resolve and there are usually no permanent damages.
( Well I took her to the doctor today and he said to give her 1/2 tsp of ibuprofen and 1/2 tsp of children's benadryl every 4 hours. Now I'm not a fan of drugging babies and I dont really feel comfortable giving these to her but at the same time I want her to get better because she seems so miserable. Benadryl just seems a little intense to me to give to someone only 10 months. Anyone know if it really is ok?
But I've also been told I can expect to stay on the meds for about 6 months, as it is highly possible it will be done in 2 surgeries. What''s next?? It seems every time I actually follow thru, and do good, and am so proud of myself, somethin crazy happens and I'm back on!! I know the drugs make us do crazy things, and have crazy thoughts... Is it possible they're doin it to my Dr's too?? Sorry- I just wanted to vent cuz it's awfully frustrating to know I'll be visiting H*LL yet once again.
You should eat as health, meaning fresh and organic, as possible. Avoid tylenol, ibuprofen and iron. And see a specialist as soon as possible.
How can you wean yourself off of patches, I'm at 75mcg for lower back pain, and I know you can taper down, but I have read a lot of posts and no one seems to have gotten off of them for good. I have a job and kids so I need to do it as safe and fast as possible. I was wondering if anyone was successful doing it by tapering? Thank you for all your help.
I have been treated for RSD and fibromyalgia for over 12 years and I have tried everything, twice. I feel and tore my ACL and had surgery about a week ago and I am in HORRIBLE pain. I do have dilaudid 4mg tabs with directions that say 2 tabs every 4 hours (max 8 tabs) I also take Methadone 10mg twice a day ( which I was on HUGE doses, I have been able over the last 4 years to switch from 175 mcg of fentanyl to methadone. I also take Clonazepam 1 mg twice a day for anxiety.
Taking a higher dosage of Suboxone won't result in much intoxication, but it also won’t cause much risk of respiratory depression and possible overdose death. After the Suboxone ceiling of effect has been reached – taking more Suboxone has no effect – it won't make you higher, and it also won't keep slowing your breathing like heroin or other opiates would." but i am hearing more from junkie freinds about this drug , as it is starting to be on the black market more.

the alcohol acts as a solvent pumping the painkillers into your system much paster, causing recreaction effects but also causing many more heart and respiration/overdose episodes. tylenol alone for yur joint may help with no codiene, and it is mainly the kidneys that metabolize it, Yes it does sound like suicide for you liver at the very least. Dependancy on drug with alcohol is a vicious circle that can do much more damage in one tenth the time than consumming either one alone.
Tylenol, Aleve, Ibuprofen (up to 800 mgs), etc., and was even diagnosed with a case of rebound headache ultimately due to ergotamine toxicity (due to taking too much Migril). I was put on Pamelor and after a while things got better. I now get headaches a few times a week. Sometimes I get none, sometimes I get them 3-4 times a week at the most. I have been taking Fiorinal for my headaches for at least the last 5-6 years and find that it works best for me.

Anyways, for the past few years I have been really struggling with pain more so even though I have had pain since I was a kid, and started Ultram about a year and a half ago. I did 3 epidurals on my neck but no real help. 800 mgs of ibuprofen takes the edge barely off but not much.
I would be concerned for your liver and stomach if you continue on this path. Please find a Pain Specialist as soon as possible if your in so much pain. There is a great forum that can give you info on the safe amounts you can take here at Med Help. Go to "Ask a Pharmacist" they can give you safe advise. Another suggestion...Maybe it's possible to ask your old Doc if he can refer you to a new Physician in the area. Doctors are pretty good at that kind of thing.

Tylenol does little for me, so I take ibuprofen. Drs can't tell you because they don't know for sure either. Friscosue: people post addresses to other sites all the time, please feel free to give the website you mentioned in the other post, We are open to knowledge. I used to read and keep with me "Back to Eden" that proclaimed good results with herbs and such, anything is possible. I am game for reading.
I drink heavely and also take xanax and ambien for sleep. Im scared i'm going to overdose one of these days but I feel like I just can't stop. My dr just changed my dosage to reprain (?) 5/200, ibuprofen instead of apap. I have an appt Friday and I'm so scared to tell him of my problem cause I know he will take them away and I'm just not ready. I know I can talk him into giving me a heavier dosage and thats my plan. I just cant seem to fight it.
Took the 800 mg. ibuprofen and some Hyland's Restful Legs, which helped last night. Hoping the ibuprofen kicks in soon.
