His theory is that having taken antibotics kills off not only the bad intestional things but also the good ones. I'm now changing how much liquid I drink with my meals and working on his other suggestions. Fatigue is less severe that it was (I'm up and functioning) but not where it should be. Brain fog still lives. I did seem my GP and she prescribed Zyrtec and Flonase. I've noticed that the post nasal drip has gone but I'm still cloudy headed.
While firmly pressing on your cheeks, lift the cheek skin upwards and sideways, pointing towards the outer corners of your eyes. Take a deep breath in. Can you breathe much better through your nose? Let go and try it again. If this maneuver works for you, you may benefit from using nasal dilator strips at night (one brand is called Breathe-Rite). Sometimes, the adhesives on these devices are not strong enough, or end up irritating the skin.
ONE important thing to remember that I learned, and have never forgotten is that these two effects CANNOT exist without anxiety.....but that anxiety can exist without these sensations. Derealization is basically a change, an alteration in the PERCEPTION or experience of the external world....in other words...everything LOOKS very strange, very "unreal" (movie like, in my experiences). Depersonalization is a subjective experience of unreality of one's self. So the difference is...
The flu has passed epidemic rates in much of the country, and if you don't have a cold, I'm sure you have a friend who has the sniffles, fever, chills, aches and pains of a viral upper respiratory infection. This is different from a bacterial infection such as sinusitis, bronchitis, or pneumonia. A viral infection doesn't improve with antibiotics as these infections do. A virus hijacks your own body's healthy cells and uses it to reproduce and spread.
I would have no hesitation seeing the ENT if I had insurance. But I'm sure the cost of seeing a specialist, plus any tests they might run...well, that can be costly, and I honestly do not have the money. I understand my health is important, but really, what do you do if you can't afford it? I will have insurance next month, which is why I was going to just wait it out until then.
lenrosen- what insurance company do u have? i've battled with mine for years without avail. i'd be willing to pay out of pocket for that insurance if they would cover it. it worked wonders for me also- I so need it back !!!!
process, which means a faster decision. When an application is filed, patients are often asked to testify how much their disease stinks, how they would rather have a drug that has even a small chance at working and preventing further damage, because right now there are no good options. Has your doctor checked your CRP? C-reactive protein is a measure of general inflammation in the body. I would have it monitored. If it starts to rise, steroids might be considered.
Surgery provides immediate relief—significant relief—but it often does not provide a permanent cure. What you will learn in this book is how to clear out the infected schmoo in your sinuses, even more effectively than surgery does, without somebody sticking a machine up your nose. 12. THE COLD The common cold is caused by several different viruses, in fact over a hundred of them. They have names like maxilovirus and rhinovirus.
After taking antibiotics so long for my skin, I did a lot of reading and research. I avoided antibiotics, and always take KYODOPHILUS ( at health stores) to replace the good bacteria that antibiotics destroy. It's natural and prevents the yeast from taking over. Also, one of the main things that destroys yeast is GARLIC. Hard to eat whole cloves, but they sell odorless capsules in health stores. Also something else called Caprylic Acid, in capsules, in health stores.
Hello,no I have not tried it(yet) and do not think it is illegal here(I have to check my schedule 8-list,same as schedule 1 and 2 in USA)actually they stuffed up our regulations here, nobody has noticed yet but hydromorphone(Dilaudid)is not classified or scheduled ,I have just spent a while studying it(see link below),and apparently nobody has any idea how it works or exactly how well it works, much more research needs to be done,on top of that it is undoubtably a Hallucinogen and possible euphori
How do we know when we're allergic to our houses? I live in an old house, and we are trying to get rid of the carpet, but in the process, we're having to do some repairs, as we found some moldy places. All the stirring up the dust is really hard, but I hope it helps. Is there a way to find out if our house is toxic to us? I really feel sorry for Laumandu, but keep on trying. Something odd that happened yesterday. I was just SO dizzy that I could hardly stand it.
I'm glad to hear you have also regained some hearing! How much have you improved? My low frequencies are between 10-50 dB, but my higher frequencies (hearing test 4 weeks ago) were 60s-80s. Word discrimination is 60-70%. I am still noticing some subtle improvements; throughout the day I will notice noises like a bird chirping and realize I couldn't hear them a few weeks ago. I also decided to do a course of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which is controversial.
MY DAUGHTER IS 5 YEARS OLD,HAVING IGE LEVEL 361 LU/ML,OFTEN SUFFERING FROM COUGH & COLD. HOW SOULD SHE GET RID OF THIS RECURRENT SUFFERINGS AND DOES LEVEL OF IGE GO DOWN ONCE THE SAID SUFFERINGS GET SUBSIDED?
This seems so stupid to me that a doctor can NOT figure this out. How does one go from never having this problem one day to this the next? I swear I think we have a sinus blockage somewhere that is causing this, this just isn't right. I have been using the saline rinse a lot, is it just the regular saline rinse in the white bottle with an orange top??
It appears to be a Staphylococcus infection the bacteria of which lives in the nose and there does not appear to be much you can do about it other than crème.
Just can upon this site by accident...but glad I did! I was looking to see how much scented candles can bother an allergic person...I am definately one...allergy shots that started at age 12. I am now 54 and quit them at age 36. I got extremely dizzy Sat night. I lite some candles about 30 minutes before having company and had to take some allergy med to get rid of the dizziness. I know where you are all coming from. I have had all the tests, CT's, MRI's, etc...about 20 years ago.
) So I recommend getting some for those times when you start sneezing and can have some time to mellow out without having to work too much. That's my 2 cents for what its worth, and I'm happy I've discovered something that works for me and will for you too. Just do it in moderation please.
He is refering me to an ENT to further evaluation. Does anyone know how the maxillary cysts are removed? How long is recovery? I have had just about everything done to my nose from just putting my bones in place after the accident to keep them from floating to deviated septum and all that. It seems that maxillary cyst are common however I am concerned about the size of mine and of couse the headaches and vision problems I experience. Any advice is helpfull!
When this happens I feel like I want to release the tension in the jaw joint and can actually 'crack' the joint. This does seem to help for a time. Chewing gum does seem to coax the drainage but I can't overdo it because of the apparent jaw muscle issues. I would like to fix this for good. I find that the daily distraction of my left ear not draining fully (I think) causing a slight fullness and a popping sound when I swallow makes it difficult to focus and is extremely frustrating.
You can't carry on a decent conversation without the annoying COUGH! AND yes, like someone else said here...you cough so much, so hard...and then gag because the "gunk" won't come up. THen you have the oops stories where you are driving or something..forget to cover your face...(gee some times I should just wear a dang mask so I don't have to for-ever - keep my hand over my mouth since I cough constantly...but the little embarrassing episode where it flings out of your lips...
Lauros, I agree about the gun to the head thing too. I am in so much pain, and knowing that there are other does make a huge difference because the doctors amke you feel like you are complaining for the fun of it. I am close to losing my house. I wish I could work at even the smallest job. I was a nurse making a good living 8 months ago, now I am unemployed and in excruciating pain with a sinus and "ear" infection, despite being on IV antibiotics.
Short of moving to a drier climate, what works best for everyone else? I have noticed when the weather changes, my symptoms get worse. How does everyone manage to work, drive and have a normal life?
Hi ive had a blocked right ear for 2 months now have seen the doctor twice he says its fluid and gave me a decongestant well theres no signs of improvement i have to go back he says if its no better and he will get me an appointment with ENT but its driving me mad with worrying whats wrong i havent had a cold or anything it feels blocked and every noise is muffled and echoes through my head and feels like a grinding feeling in my ear and head has anyone else had this and how long does it
PS -- a question -- does anyone know if nodules show up in CT's with or without contrast? The first doc I saw claimed that you don't see noduels on CT's with contrast, but the second guy says you can see them either way.
If I itch too much it becomes wet and begins draining a wet clear fluid. Then at night, whatever side I lay on clogs shut. In the morning there is thick crusty crud that again I try not to pick at. Im obviously in continual circle of symptoms here. Dr's seem to think I cause this problem by itching which causes infection which causes itchiness. HELP please? I am open to homeopathic suggestions as mainstream medicine just seems to temporarily relieve the symptoms and not cure the cause.
Grocery bags or shopping bags always leave a mark that usually lasts the rest of the day. I have learned now how to carry things without touching much, how to dress without looking like I'm wearing a pillow case and who to hand off the bags to. Coping skills are my new best friend. Word to the wise, DO NOT go get your eyebrows waxed (or anywhere else) unless you have a few days to deal with it. Not pretty. Good Luck!
there are many things one can do to lessen allergic reaction within their own home. the 8 hours or so you spend in bed sleeping are especially important. keep room clean, eliminate clutter, enclose mattress and pillows in protective covers (not padded mattress covers, this is simply another place for dust mites to live) preferable the water resistant kind. I found mine at a store that sells foam futons, mattresses, pillows etc. can find them online as well.
Some mentions of possible instances of surgical solutions without loss of sense of smell - but not sure how proven this path is. My case seems to be getting worse - have finished a round of Cipro - but no improvement. Have tried sudafed / Claratin / codeine cough syrup (some relief the following day for a few hours at most).
