How long vyvanse in system

Common Questions and Answers about How long vyvanse in system

vyvanse

Avatar f tn Long story short, 2 people, 2 different ADHD medications. Vyvanse is completely out of system and undetectable in urine in 48-60 hours, Adderall completely out of system in 4-7 days. Personal experience - I take anywhere from 120-200mg of Vyvanse daily. I had negative urinalysis after 48 hours of not taking medication. Hope that helps...
Avatar n tn Vyvanse reaches therapeutic levels in the body in approximately 3.5 hours.
Avatar f tn he faked being ADHD???to get vyvanse from her. How the hell to you do that? And be on Ambian and restoril and Xanax??????? How unethical is that? I went with him to his shrinks office and she took him off the ambian and "dosed" him down on vyvanse...this was last June 2011. He was unwilling to end it entirely by late Nov. I ended it. These shrinks should have their licenses yanked! I was put thru hell for 3 yrs. not knowing about the vyvanse.
Avatar f tn Anyway, without telling me, he quit the Vyvanse cold turkey 15 days ago. He is still going thru withdrawal. Please, can someone help me? How long will this last? After he first quit taking it, he was angry, suicidal, tired, and was having flu-like symptoms every day. Now, he has "episodes" of feeling this way about twice a day, usually in the middle of the day, and then again at night right before he goes to sleep.
Avatar m tn Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.
Avatar f tn I can't keep my mind still long enough to concentrate, everything I do I just feel discontent with. Anyone else feel this? What do you do?
Avatar n tn m hoping that it will kick in first ( is it within 30 minutes?) and then after it kicks in to give Vyvanse. We are hoping that in a few hours when the effect from Ritalin crashes down the Vyvanse will then have peaked and so that he won't suffer from anxiety that's common from Ritalin since Vyvanse gives a euphoric effect. Anybody has tried these drugs in this order?
Avatar f tn I disagree with the analysis above regarding Vyvanse withdrawal. My neuro-psychiatrist indicated that, unlike other ADD medications, my missing 1 day was the cause of Extreme fatigue, depression, irritability along with ADD symptoms. NOT INCLUSIVE EXPLANATION: Vyvanse uses adrenaline/cortisol (fight-flight hormones), stopping is similar to exhaustion following an intense situation and recovery time correlates to how long you've been taking it.
Avatar f tn My son was just recently diagnosed with ADHD and started on Vyvanse. Sometimes he swallows the pills and sometimes he waste them. So I have tried to mixed them with water and it doesn't seem effective. Is there a magic formula. so much med and so much water? Please help me am I missing something?
2031646 tn?1329304409 Our pediatristion put him on 20 mg of Vyvanse. My son has had adhd since birth and I knew it. cuz his dad has it very badly and woulnt take his meds. Since birth, my son has been so difficult.... I cryed EVERDAY! His behavior was so bad, that everwhere I took him people would say you need to get him under control, as soon as he could walk , that is all I have heard. Well the Vyvanse, has saved our lives/ I finally have my son ,and his personaltiy for the first time.
1666464 tn?1303225358 First off I want to say thanks for your input. I really do appreciate it along with the additional information that you forwarded me. I too have thought that something else could possibly be causing my anxiety besides the Vyvanse. I don't know it's really weird but here's how it usually works when I try to go on some sort of ADD/ADHD medication. Also mind you that I've only been prescribed Adderall and Vyvanse so I can only reference the symptoms that I receive from these.
1367899 tn?1278121440 My sister and I started a blog on Adderall to learn more about the medication along with alternative and complementary ADHD treatment options. Any feedback from users of Adderall or Adderall XR would be greatly appreciated. Topics to be added this week on http://Adderall.org How is Adderall XR different from Adderall? Avatar m tn Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick. Is there any solution for people with 2 conditions like this where the medication for one condition diametrically opposes the medication for the second condition ? Would some other blood pressure medication work better than a beta blocker ?
Avatar f tn I'm not sure how long it takes to leave your system - but - I wouldn't worry about your family finding out. The employer has to abide to health privacy laws and they're not allowed to disclose your medications/medical conditions. Usually - it's a 3rd party anyway - and the employer only sees a pass/fail. Talk to the person administering the drug test and first ask about privacy. I wouldn't worry.

Avatar n tn we have tried several meds. currently he is on 50 mg of vyvanse, 40 mg of citalopram and 2mg of abilify a day. his behavior is beyond horrible. should i just take him off meds?
Avatar f tn Hello, yes I have been taking this combination of Vyvanse (70mg per day in the am) and Clonidine (0.2mg in the afternoon and 0.2mg at night). I highly prefer Vyvanse over adderall because I do not suffer from side effects w/Vyvanse as with the adderall. The Vyvanse is much smoother than most all other adhd drugs. I have never experienced shortness of breath while taking Vyvanse, however, I am 25 years old and 180lbs. I am also a Registered Nurse.
1401877 tn?1288107639 t I notice myself getting better later in the day when they wear off? Vyvanse is the only thing that gives me any mental or physical energy :( When I'm out with friends I notice that alcohol actually makes my symptoms much better, I guess it calms my system, but the next day I'm much worse. Same thing if I take *too* much Klonopin. (alcohol is not on my list of meds :) it's just an observation). Do you all have experience or insight on these meds? Thanks!!!
Avatar n tn First, Vyvanse does not stay in your system more then one day. Are you on any other medications that might stay longer? It actually sounds like you are slightly overdosed, not underdosed. Or there is a build up of the other medication that you are on.
Avatar n tn My question is this: Has anyone taken adhd medication such as vyvanse and is in recovery from adrugs and alcohol?
Avatar m tn It may be habit-forming if used for a long period of time. Use Vyvanse only as prescribed. Do not share it with others. Abuse of Vyvanse may cause serious heart problems, blood vessel problems, or sudden death.
3063045 tn?1340654053 Generally speaking you should not change the dose of prescribed medication without checking in with your doctor first. I'm not sure how long you've been on the medication but many require a few weeks for your body to adjust and feel normal again. Another thing you could do is talk to the pharmacist, ask if feeling this tired is considered normal. S/he won't be able to switch your dose or med but they can let you know if you have a problem and need to talk to your doctor ASAP.
Avatar f tn That way he knows exactly how much is in your system and anything else and holds you accountable. Most importantly you took a huge step by getting what was in your head out and talking about it! That is the most important thing in recovery!!! Do not keep things in your head and feed on it and let it eventually talk u into just taking one or a little as we know one is too many and a thousand never enough . I am considering switching to vyvanse or something similar.
Avatar m tn To make a long story short. I haven't taken vyvanse for 3 months but have consistent chest pain which started when taking the drug. my blood pressure did go up when taking the drug so i was put on atenolol. I had since discontinued the drug (about 3 months ago) but the side effects continue . I have 24/7 tight chest. Anyone with similar experience, recommendations, etc?
