He does very well, but the only thing is at times he would still be wound up because it really does last a full 12 hours. Sometimes I think it lasts longer. Along with Vyvanse, he has to take a sleep aid of Chlonodine. Dont forget when they take Vyvanse it is real important that they get a full eight to ten hours of rest. Vyvance uses an extended release capsule. This makes it last longer by keeping the pill from being digested quickly. So, when you broke it up, you removed the only thing that manages the amount digested at one time. So what you need to do is call 911 and tell them that you have overdosed on x amount of Vyvance . If you are worried about your parents finding out then simply refuse to give your information to the hospital you are taken to.
This **** should be off the market. AND the shrinks should stop being legal drug pushers. I have been in a relationship for 9 years....he faked being ADHD???to get vyvanse from her. How the hell to you do that? And be on Ambian and restoril and Xanax??????? How unethical is that? I went with him to his shrinks office and she took him off the ambian and "dosed" him down on vyvanse...this was last June 2011. He was unwilling to end it entirely by late Nov. I ended it.

I took a 70 mg vyvanse capsule by dissolving the powder in a water bottle and drinking it about 1.5 months ago. I do not have ADHD, I took it to help me prepare for my exams and the SAT. I'm 16 years old. My body weight is 180 pounds and my height is 6 feet. So is it normal for dry mouth to last this long? I'm afraid to go to the doctor because he may report me to the police for the illegal use of an ADHD medicine. Please help.

I actually called Shire this past weekend and made a product complaint. I told the rep that my meds were wearing off after 4-5 hours & asked if it was possible to get my doctor to write for more than 70mg. She said that the doctor can do anything he wants, he can prescribe as much as he feels the patient needs.
(with your doctors approval as the doc does need to know what is going on) so it doesn't last as long.

I have 2 (of 3) daughters diagnosed with ADHD and they are both on Vyvanse, 1st daughter (9 years old) takes 100 mg per day combined with Straterra and the 3rd daughter (6 years old) is on 40 mg per day. The only problem we have had with the Vyvanse is that it does seem to wear off earlier than the 12 hours it is said to last. I have been told that can be due to their high metabolism too. It gets them both through school which is key at this point.
He then prescribed to me the amphetamine, Vyvanse (30mg). I was to take it the very next morning after breakfast.
I have had very few problems with the my other medications, like the antidepressant, Zoloft (50mg), and the antihistamine, Zyrtec (10mg). But I have started to notice some very disturbing and confusing side effects the same day I started taking this.
On Friday, I had taken one pill in the morning and left to go to school (I had taken my other medications the night before).
He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do. Since Ritalin is faster acting I'm hoping that it will kick in first ( is it within 30 minutes?
I couldn't take it anymore. It got to a point where i couldn't ignore it no matter how hard i tried. My eyes were constantly watering. I wanted to burst out & yell ,& cry. I had to tell my dad on numerous occasions to pick me up from school. (at this point i stopped vyvanse & weed completely) Then i decided in mid march that i couldn't remain living my life at that school. I stayed home for the next 2 weeks as my dad was trying to get me transfers to another school.
I went to the ER today to get it checked out and I didn't tell them about the vyvanse. This prescription I got is a couple years old and I had it leftover. It's been a while since I even touched it.
The doctors did an EKG and found it to be normal. They sent me home. I am still having chest pains at the moment and shortness of breath. Health wise, if I don't take anymore, am I still in trouble because of how I'm feeling? Or will this pain go away?
I was just diagnosed with ADHD. How the hell did I make it this far? I'm extremely disorganized, easily distracted, very forgetful, fidgety, and I've never, ever read a book from cover to cover. I never realized the extremely high stress life I lived was a result of all of this. I spent endless nights crying because of procrastination, frustration from once again losing something, and anger from forgetting this. How did I manage to keep my grades up?
You need to understand what ADHD is and how it affects you. In short, you need to become an expert in it. So start reading. I think you will find it interesting. Try to find non-biased material. There are a lot of groups that for religious, cultural, etc. reasons don't believe that this scientifically proven condition exists, and their answers for it could scare you away from what could really help.
You also should check with your college counselors.
I now know that I can use the medications that I need, correctly. I go to therapy, and AA meetings, and take my medication. It does what it is supposed to. It doesn't get me high, I don't take it to get high, or to stay up all night working on a paper. I take it as directed. I understand how tricky it can be. I was addicted to Percocet and pot and alcohol. I abused my medications to get through the day.
But, you can learn a new way to live and manage your life.
For one look it up urself on how long it stays in ur system.
Also maybe they are cooking it in ur apartment that's how it got in ur system and if that's the case all ur belonging and if u have any baby stuff there it is all tainted.
And u are worried about it being in ur system what about ur baby's system. What if ur baby is already addicted to it and is going to have with draws from it when its born.
As for OD, done it plenty, but if I had kept using, it really didn't matter if I lived or not the last years. It won't be easy, but I highly suggest you find new ways to cope with all the things that make you believe drugs are helping. I understand though, I chose to do it the hard and painful way, so I hAve no judgement about your choices. I simply plan on spending the years I half left sober and progressing toward my highest potential. I let drugs decide how good I could be for far too long.
So, you may try to experiment with LESS as well with more - as sometimes more can give you the whammy of Cushing's and it does not take much in some people. Exhaustion, depression are more signs of high cortisol.
Healthy diet, a bit of exercise, fluids, rest, and try to do the best - but not to put yourself in danger -I am just saying sometimes adding is not always the way. I go for salt, vitamins etc. and leave my extra for illness and nausea.
