Common Questions and Answers about How does wellbutrin xl work

wellbutrin

I went to get a higher dosage of Wellbutrin XL today and they gave me Budeprion xl 300 mg. They told me they now have the generic form which is cheaper. I was wondering if this will make a difference compared to taking the brand name? Wellbutrin 150 has worked wonders for me and now they give me this budeprion. I just want to know if it's the same thing, more importantly, work the same?
So i went back to mt sr 150 2x a day,but now it seems like my left breast hurts,i dont see how this could be related...and does the xl help the sex drive better than the sr,i hope someone might have some info for me,maybe someone has went thru this.
Just started Wellbutrin XL 150mg a week ago. How long before it works and I also heard you might lose some weight on it how long before that usually happens?
Don't give up or lose faith in modern medicine. Even if wellbutrin doesn't work, inevitably you will find something that does.
What is the actual difference between Wellbutrin XL and Wellbutrin SR. Will both cause the same weight loss.
I have recently been put on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg for two weeks, then it goes to 300mg. I have also given Klonapin .05mg twice a day. I used Wellburtin 150SR to stop smoking, I did not seem to have problems, however in all the research I have read , it says that Wellbrtin should not be given to patients with eating disorders. Can you please explain why, and should I be taken off this medication? Due to the fact that I am bulimic, and have been for quite some time.? Please advise.
Okay, I have been on Wellbutrin 300 xl (generic) for more than a month now. I am still a little jittery in the morning but not as bad. I get headaches every afternoon/evening and so I have to beat them to the punch with an Aleve at about 2:00 and even then I may still get the headache but just not as bad. Constipation has set in, still dealing with the dry mouth, and I have breakthrough panic attacks. I have been trying to self-coach my way through them..
Can Wellbutrin XL cause nightmares? I have noticed since I have been taking it since November 16th that I have nightmares every night.
• Claiming that the time to peak plasma concentration (Tmax) of bupropion hydrochloride after ingesting Budeprion XL is identical to that in Wellbutrin XL, when studies have confirmed that the Tmax for Budeprion XL is less than one-half of that for Wellbutrin XL; • Claiming that Budeprion XL did not carry with it a risk of dose dumping when taken with food, though reports have indicated that food may increase chance for toxicity; • Claiming that human studies were done comparing Budeprion XL t
from taking the Celexa for a weekend here and there, but that didn't really seem to help with the side effects since the drug was still in my body. Celexa definitely does work fast and that is exactly why my doctor put me on that first. It's possible that's why your doctor gave it to you, too. Take care and let us know how you're doing. :-) Hugs!
i was taking 300 of effexor and 1 tablet of wellbutrin xl(can't check the exact dose of wellbutrin now because I'm in a cafe and my meds are at home)
I have been taking Wellbutrin XL 300 mg for 3 weeks at night. Insomina showed up about 2 weeks ago even though I take Klonopin to sleep. I am going to skip tonights dose and take it in the morning instead. I still am very edgy after 3 weeks of taking the medication. Do most people take in the am? My bottle of 150 xl said to take it at bed time which was why I took the 300 at bedtime. Does the edgyness go away? Anyway, I think I'm going to ask to switch to Prozac instead.
Is the weird flu like symptoms, lack of balance, fuzziness (to name a few) being caused by the paxil withdraw, or mixing wellbutrin and 5-htp? ( I already know what 5-htp does, or I would not have been so eager to try it..) NOTHING seems to work anymore, and I am hoping one, or the other or both will fix the issues.. Am I seeing a shrink? not at the moment, but am looking into it (as in for one under my insurance).. The thing is, I take other meds for other issues..
My doctor gave me a perscription for severe depression but he wrote it for Wellbutrin XL 150 mg. The past 3 days I have been on the W XL and my mood has worsened to even worse than it was before taking Wellbutrin. I'm going to try and go back on the SR 100mg now and see if there is a difference.. My question is it possible that once version of the drug makes me more depressed while the other once makes me happier?
After searching the internet and coming up with nothing time and time again about this mix... I am left in a slight dilemma. Firstly,I take Wellbutrin XL 150 mg per day for depression. I find it is working well for me. It does not cause me to be agitated at all. In fact, I feel totally normal on it. It has had the opposite effect on me I find, making me more relaxed or sleepy at times. I take the Wellbutrin XL at 8am everyday. By the time 5pm rolls around, I want to hit the gym.

I've noticed that I become furious when I consume saccharin while I'm on Wellbutrin XL. Various other sweeteners give me negative reactions, except for Splenda and cane juice, for some reason. For example, white sugar makes me suicidal (literally.) If your husband eats a lot of sweets or sweeteners, I'd try to switch him to one that doesn't provoke a negative reaction. It may be Splenda that works for him; it may not be.
If Wellbutrin does not help relieve your symptoms, it doesn't mean you will be depressed forever. Trust me, I know how frustrating it is waiting to find the right dose and combination of medications but I can tell you from experience that you will not be miserable or feel like this forever so try not to get discouraged.
How long until you start to loose weight on Wellbutrin? Does that part start right after the 1st 2 weeks? I have been binge eating and cant seem to control my sweet tooth as i used to in the past! I just started Wellbutrin 2 days ago!!! I was on Paxil in the past and gained a total of 20 pounds in just 4 months!
My girlfriend has recently been taken off mirtazapine 45mg and put onto venlalic xl 75mg. This happeneds 2 weeks ago and since then has been a downwards rollecrocater, I cant believe how much this has changed the bubbly girl she was just 2 weeks ago. She cant eat, cant sleep, constantly shaking her legs however much I try masaging her, feels anxious, dry mouth, has even taken 2 overdoses of diazepam (which she has been on a couple of years) and turned very agressive at times.
How does it compare to celexor, effexor, lexapro, zolof, and paxil when it comes to side effects? I've tried all of those and they made me feel horrible like I was on a bad drug or in my case I can compare it to w/d-ing from opiates...
Yesterday morning I popped my first Wellbutrin XL. Wellbutrin for those neuro pharmacologically healthy is an AD (antidepressant). First time with ADs, and as mentioned in a previous thread, it's not so much I feel *depressed* as feeling a lack of motivation to get back to what is left of my former life.
So I'm recently changing from zoloft to wellbutrin. Zoloft makes me too tired. Always fatigued. Dr put me on wellbut XL 300. It's been about a week and I can't sleep a full night! I wake up at 3 or 3:30 and can't go back to sleep. And that's with 1 zanex ! Is it too strong for me? Has anyone else had this issue and will it go away?
If you did have a decrease in cravings and noticed weight loss, do you recall how long after starting WELLBUTRIN XL you experienced this? Was it within the first week or first month, first couple of months? Best of luck to all of you. It is so fantastic to find blogs discussing real and serious issues and questions. Unfortunately, so much of what we report doesn't match what the drug companies release so that we end up knowing more than our doctors and pharmacists.... serious problem!
I feel i will be able to sleep easily without the whole dose and i can also have one xanax with me in case of emergency (you know how quick they work!). To sum it up i am thinking of the following plan for the next months: 1x150mg wellbutrin XR every second day 1/2x0.5 xanax every morning 1/2x0.5 xanax every night My question is, is taking 150mg wellbutrin every second day a good idea if this plan is followed for a larger period of time than some weeks?
After hearing all my info, and doing blood work, the only question the ER Dr asked was about the seroquel--how long I had been taking it--and then gave me some shot and a Rx for Xanax, dropped me off at home the same nite. Needless to say, i have not taken the Xanax but continue with the seroquel. i have yet to get a Dr here, but am trying to remain sane enough to plan some appointments. It has been 3 days and every nite i have several attacks starting in sleep.
I was on that for two months with only modest improvement. I since have seen a new psychiatrist who put me on Wellbutrin Xl 150 for one week and felt ok, then increased to 300mg. He also increased the Buspar to 60mg a day at the same time of adding the Wellbutrin. The first couple of days I felt better but then I went down hill fast at the 300mg level and he reduced it to 150mg. I have this gut feeling that the Buspar and Wellbutrin are fighting each other, multiple reasons to believe this.
//www.bridgestoaccess.com/ I did try the generic version of Wellbutrin XL 300 mg and the formulation didn't work for me at all. But, of course, that won't be true for everyone.
If after a month you haven't noticed the side effects go away then consider stopping it. If it does work, be aware that any increase in the dosage may result in a return of the side effects for a short time. Good luck with this!
