Avatar f tn I feel your pain. I just turned 31 in december and I am having the same problem with all over hair growth (seems abnormal). I on the other hand have no idea what the cause or reason for this hair growth all over my body is due to. Most of it is all the fine light colored hair (full face, chest, back, shoulders etc). I had uterine fibroids removed via myomectomy (c section) about a year ago now but about three months after the surgery I went on birth control.
Avatar n tn I am starting to think I may be suffering from a hormone imbalance as my symptoms seem to go when I start my period. I also suffer from inability to sleep, mood swings cyclical depression, facial hair, hot flushes as well as cold and irregular periods, I am now having 2 periods a month, one really light and short and one a week later that is pretty severe....
Avatar f tn m not sure if there is anything medically that can be done to prevent the hair growth, but i would suggest facial waxing. It doesnt hurt and you can usually get a wax for under $15.
Avatar f tn I have seen articles on hormones that will promote facial hair growth. can you inform me on whats available ?
Avatar f tn It's normal for these things to start happening following menopause due to testosterone. You can get help with this, however, by visiting a doctor and being prescribed certain hormones.
Avatar f tn How exactly should hair growth that is very severe under chin area be dealt with ?
1676653 tn?1391039945 My cycles are regular 27 days. I dont understand why I am not getting pregnant. I heard that hormone imbalance can cause you not to get pregnant. Anyone please help.
Avatar n tn Recently had hormone tests and a scan done as I am experiencing alot of facial hair growth. The chin area has thick black hair. Scan showed bilateral pcos. Hormone tests were normal except for DHEA which is elevated.
Avatar m tn i was on metformin 2000mg to restore my period, help slow down the facial hair growth, and to help maintain my weight. It worked. With the metformin, my facial hair did not stop. It slows the rate of new growth so you're stuck with what you have but will grow fewer "new" hairs. My period came back although it wasn't terribly regular. I did see it every one to two months. Without metformin i would get it maybe once in 6months+ and the weight...
Avatar f tn That was 10 years ago. I was 17. I still have the facial hair. I was told that once the hair folical is activated, it does not go away. I would have to get laser hair removal done. I hope that this helps you. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Hi I am a 22 yr male and have been on levothyroxine for about 5-6 years and none of my family has excessive hair growth, so doubt its genetic. I have been having excessive body hair growth and not so much growth in my scalp region. So is excessive body hair a side effect of levothyroxine?
Avatar f tn Just tell me that can a mild hypothyroidism become the reason of excessive, black, long, thick body parts hair and excessive, little long than normal, black facial including chin, neck hair growth?? What is the whole panel to diagnose the excessive hair growth problem??
Avatar n tn That would be my first move. You could have a hormone imbalance that could be causing the hair growth. A lot of women suffer from hair growth. There are many hair removal methods that you can choose from, including waxing, tweezing, shaving or cream hair removal.
Avatar f tn No...his hair growth does not indicate that he is done growing. Men actually continue to gain miniscule amounts of height until well into their twenties; they continue puberty far longer than women do. Most women are through with puberty by about 19 but men continue with the hormone surges and small changes until their mid-twenties. He's just barely a teenager...
Avatar f tn I am an 18 year old asian girl with a fairly good diet- I am 45 kgs and 5 ft 5" tall. I used to have silky straight hair but since 4th grade I've had a bad case of dandruff (my skin is acne prone too). My hair type changed from super silky to voluminous and frizzy ( I have a thick head of hair). I've lived with this for alot of years now and I can control my acne, but recently (almost 2 years ago) my hair started changing in texture.
Avatar n tn 5 years old. He is in Late stage 4 puberty. Getting light facial hair and a little bit of chest hair. He’s 5’2” I’m really hoping there is potential for growth! Thanks!
Avatar n tn ive gone through laser hair removal but hair growth near the chin is still the same...wht should i do consult a gynaec or a dermatologist?
Avatar f tn I am in the UK and approx 18 months ago my dr prescribed a cream for me called Vaniqa. Its supposed to slow/decrease the rate of hair growth. I tried it for 6 months and did notice that the facial hair slowed down............. but to be honest I discontinued use of the cream. I've suffered Hirsutism for over 20 years and while my normal hair colouring if fair this unwelcome excess body hair is very dark.
Avatar m tn birth control pill--in other words, one that contains estrogen. That will help with hair growth. The hair that you have is probably permanent but can be removed with laser or electrolysis. You definitely want to stop it now though! I also think you should call your doctor to be certain that there is no need for hormone testing--I might consider a free testosterone level and a DHEAS Good luck!
Avatar m tn Adolescent and young adult males can reasonably expect that the development of their facial hair will increase over time. Genetics and hormones, however, remain the controlling factors. The timetable varies widely among individuals. Some may develop fully-mature beard growth in the teen years, while others may not do so until their late twenties. Still others may never develop appreciable beard growth. Let us know if you need any other information . Regards.
393685 tn?1425812522 Hi Stella, well maybe I can shed some light on your extra unwanted hair growth or at least give you some info that might help you out. I am a Electrologist (retired) so I know a little about this issue. I'm not sure how old you are but most women do in fact have unwanted hair growth but it isn't something you'll hear them talking about at your local Tupperware party so don't think your alone. If all women live long enough they are destined to get some kind of unwanted hair.
Avatar m tn As regards facial appearance and other secondary characteristics like thick facial hair growth is concerned, in may cases it happens during the age of 20 to 25 years and you need not have to worry about it. Also, the facial and body hair growth can also be influenced by the maternal family side rather than your father's side.Convert your body weight to muscle weight by regular exercise and you will find many of the male characteristics coming faster.
Avatar n tn Unless you suffer from a hormonal imbalance, generally there is no medical treatment available to increase beard growth. If you have any doubts or concerns, you should consult a physician and possibly even an endocrinologist and dermatologist. Adolescent and young adult males can reasonably expect that the development of their facial hair will increase over time. Genetics and hormones, however, remain the controlling factors. The timetable varies widely among individuals.
Avatar n tn Women can have an imbalance of certian hormones, like testosterone, that can cause growth of hair similar to men. Another cause could be a really bad photograph. Good luck to your brother and fiance!
