acne

Avatar f tn Anyways, I went to my doctor multiple times in a desperate attempt to find a pill or medication that could clear my acne, and was even considering Accutane during that bout of acne last year (doc said no because I was on antidepressants at the time). I've tried everything from clindamycin to minocyclin to tretinoin to bactrim (which gave me a rash and high fever, turns out I'm allergic to it) to birth control pills... to no avail.
Avatar m tn I'm 20 years old, i don't have acne problems before this.. but in this year it came to haunt me.. its getting worst at the jawline area and it left many small scars there.. especially on my right side's jawline.. left side's hardly got.. only 1 or 2 that pop out and goes off niicely. What causes the breakouts at the jawline ? And i'm currently using Cetaphil to clean my face every morning n night.. sometimes afternoon as well..
Avatar n tn s cyclic outbreaks, this could be due to hormonal changes in your body. Aside from hormonal changess during mentruation, the following have been found to make acne worse: oil-based makeup, suntan oil and hair products, stress, squeezing or picking at blemishes and hard scrubbing of the skin. It is important to clean your face everyday and avoid harsh chemicals. Over-the-counter acne medications may also help. There are plenty of people with the same situation you are in.
Avatar n tn I have one sex partner. Please help! I am also on birth control Apri and have been having extreme acne under my jawline on my neck (I read this is hormonal). Please give me your input on what you think is wrong.
Avatar f tn I have this red bumps with pus in face neck and jawline and it gets itchy when i put the solution im using now. It started last year september and I have tried different ways to get rid of it until I decided to go to a dermatologist but it didnt worked as well. I never had this much acne, the usual is like a pimple or two that i think its because of my menstruation. I dont think i have hormonal imbalance coz my period is on regular basis.
Avatar m tn Hello, I am 29 yo considering OC to help hormonal imbalance (not so much pregnancy prevention). I have cystic acne along my jawline. I have been using spironolactone 50mg daily about a year. Overall, it's improved about 50%, but will worsen during pre-mentraul flare ups. However, my derm is hesitant about increasing my dose and suggested adding on OC. Any reccomendation on what estrogen/progestin combo to try for acne?
Avatar n tn After three years on it, I began to suffer from bad chin/jawline and back acne, and was menstruating for two weeks at a time. I have now stopped the injection and started on the Qlaira contraceptive/birth control pill, which I know is not especially for improving acne as some are (Yaz, Diane 35), but I want to know how likely this change is to help, as i really am at the end of my tether. I'm about a week into my second pack and so far, nothing has changed - for better or worse.
Avatar f tn Hello, Treatment for such acne like bumps includes topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist. Till then follow the treatment that has been prescribed to you and use Accutane only under medical guidance.
Avatar m tn Hello, Just wanted to preface by saying I have a dermatologist appointment set up... in December. But, I've gotten pretty desperate lately so wanted to see if anyone had any ideas. I'm 24 and have had great skin almost my entire life- however, last November I started getting what I'm calling a "rash" along my jawline. It comes and goes, it's itchy, and there's little bumps. I also will get some bumps on my forehead.
Avatar m tn Your eating habits should not have a direct effect on acne, since acne is caused by bacteria and hormonal fluctuations affect it. Yes, some foods MAY trigger an attack in some people, but I'm yet to see this in my case. Sometimes our skin gets used to certain topical medicines. If that's the case, the doctor will change it for you or combine it with other meds.
Avatar f tn Same here! Also getting a lot of acne around my jawline. Ugh! Is that the "pregnancy glow" everyone talks about?! Lol!
Avatar n tn I'm 26 and tanned a few years in my early twenties. I saw a derm about six months ago, and my skin was fine. Since then, I've developed almost cystic like acne on my right-side jawline, which has since gone down. However, there was a bump I must've picked which left a sore that scabbed over, went away, became irritated and came back, not healing up after what seems like a few months.

Avatar n tn Now I have persistant and large acne on my cheeks and jawline, including cystic acne. The acne is ever present and not just once a month. My current dermo (not the one who proscribed Accutane) tells me that it's hormonal (I believe this) and that I will just have to deal with it for the rest of my life (I don't want to accept this). She does Cortosone injections on occasion for the cysts because I cannot, for the life of me, leave my face alone.
Avatar f tn Within the last couple of months, I have developed this facial rash on my forehead, checks, and along my jawline. It is similar to a breakout, however, the bumps are small and never develop into a whitehead or black head. Basically, these small bumps form under the skin and just stay there. They are the most severe along my jawline. They are not red, irritated, or itchy, however, they make the texture of my skin very rough. If you squeeze them, white junk oozes out.
Avatar f tn I saw this acne bump forming under my skin, right on my jawline and within like the span of two days, the bump was turning blue ish and then the next day it was black. Every now and then, the pimple would pop itself and pus would come out, and it was painful to touch. After two months, I decided to pop it completely as it was too painful and the pus coming out of it was very frequent.
Avatar f tn Hi. Apologies for the extensive response in advance but I feel everything that follows is pertinent. Sounds identical to what I'm suffering with; literally developed relentless cysts on my jawline and chin a few months ago after only having to endure a minor hormonal breakouts beforehand.
Avatar f tn It all started with small pimples on my forehead which went away and then it proceeded with acne on my cheeks and jawline. The acne though is deep inside of my skin. Some pimples did hurt some pimples didn't. I also went to the dermatologist, and she gave me a specific antibiotic: Vibramycin 100 mg : which made me worse. When I say worse I mean it with the whole meaning of the word. My acne wouldn't go away one bit.
10489128 tn?1411674827 and for the last few weeks I have had the worst skin, painful cysts under my jawline and pimples - which is totally out of the ordinary for me! Anyone else suffering the same? Dr said it was normal due to hormones. I want my glow lol!!!

Avatar f tn I am struggling with a severe acne breakout recently. I can not figure out what it is from. It first started at both sides of my jawline, little white bumps under my skin that surfaced as cystic like whitheads. Now I have them ALL over my face. I have been going to a dermatologist for a long time and he told me it was acne and milia. He uses a needle to "zap and burn" them. Which leaves me with dark small spots all over my face like measles or something. They take 7 days to heal.
