hiv

Avatar m tn Did they find any cure or vaccine to prevent hiv?
Avatar m tn Until the time (when medical science comes up with a vaccine), care is the only cure for HIV.
Avatar m tn http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/10/02/hiv-cure-close-after-disease-vanishes-from-blood-of-british-man/ "The new therapy works in two stages. Firstly, a vaccine helps the body recognise the HIV-infected cells so it can clear them out. Secondly, a new drug called Vorinostat activates the dormant T-cells so they can be spotted by the immune system.
Avatar m tn The cure will only come after a Vaccine is made. Personally there is a Vaccine currently in Phase 1 Trails that was recently Approved by the FDA which in a sense is a major step for any Vaccine. This Vaccine uses a Whole HIV Virus instead of little bits of it. There is also a Heavy Duty Vaccine (Genes) in the pipeline as well. We also need to Focus Prevention Methods on the hardest hit the Gay community. We need to have a Aggressive safe sex promotion and Widespread HIV TESTING.

Avatar m tn Guess? Don't believe in anything unless an HIV cure really has been discovered and medically proven by a recognised health body.
Avatar m tn The Top-Ten upcoming new herpes drugs The acyclovir family of herpes antivirals has been around in one form or another for the last 20 years. It's high time some progress was made, especially given that the ASHA says 50% of women in the USA will have genital herpes by 2025. Here is a shortlist of the most likely new treatments to become available soon, in order of how close they are to market, number 1 being the closest to market.
Avatar n tn For now, it may be easier to work on accepting herpes for what it is, rather than focus on a cure or vaccine, which at the very best, is years and years away.
163305 tn?1333668571 11 PM In a poetic turn of virology, the scientist who discovered hepatitis C in 1989 has now also discovered a vaccine that will hopefully cure the now-incurable disease. Not only is it poetic, it's an accomplishment that many thought was impossible. Because hepatitis C is more virulent than HIV, no one was confident a vaccine against all the various strains around the world could be developed.
101028 tn?1419603004 This is sad but I still am hopeful for a cure and a vaccine. I mean, we have bionic eyes now for people who lost their sight. I never thought that would be possible but I was proven wrong. I'm sure there will be a cure for not only HSV 1 and 2 but for other diseases as well.
Avatar f tn The cure which will be able clean HIV from human's body
Avatar m tn s a lil of yellowish in the morning whats that ??is that HIV... is there a cure for HIV or vaccine?? what is there a sign that i had HIV...??
1530342 tn?1405016490 A vaccine is FAR more likely than a cure. For MOST viral infections, there is no cure, and with HIV, a retrovrius, it is unlikely. We still don't have a cure for the common cold, and influenza. A cure would be wonderful, but just think of all the other diseases out there with no cure, only treatments. The thing to be thankful for is how far we've come in the treatment for HIV/AIDS. MANY people are living completely normal life spans...
1364665 tn?1291607092 but in anycase only about 10% adults get cronic hbv and only 5% develop cronic hepatitis the others get only cronic carrier of virus without damage plus there aremany antivirals to stop damage, so no need to worry i suggest to make hbv vaccine anyway since it wouldn t hurt, as to hiv i guess infection is faster so you will know result soon
Avatar m tn doesn't work that way with valtrex/acyclovir/famvir etc. they only act to disrupt the viral replication cycle, they don't prevent infection. unfortunately so far all the herpes vaccines they've researched haven't been effective.
Avatar m tn there are some who dont undersand the way the things were moved and the way they are going on. this vaccine is true enemy of ours from getting cure. the world is waiting to get rid of hep b by more and more vaccination not by treatment.
Avatar m tn He said that in 4 years they MIGHT have a therapeutic vaccine for HIV to be given to infected people. This will NOT prevent infection and will NOT be a cure. We are not even close to anything of that sort.
Avatar f tn But I know viruses are hard to fight. But then again we have polio, the HPV vaccine, a cure for Hep-C. And then even now, as much as COVID is mutating, there will be a vaccine soon.
Avatar f tn s why I will try to urge that vaccine thing and I will also try to test for HPV, but I really wanna believe whatever the result will be the vaccine will protect me and that my immune system will be able to cure the lesion even if it wasn't capable to cure oral and vaginal Candida in one year with treatment!
Avatar m tn They did cure hep c, but hep b is a more advanced form of virus. Hopefully one day a cure will come, but with the vaccine available, and the people under 30 mostly getting at birth, by 30 years or so, hep b will be a non concern for the world. I think currently it’s just a “project” and not a real goal for the pharmaceutical companies.
Avatar m tn t forget about hiv research which is huge if compare to hbv or hcv funds, Solvadi for hcv was first designed to cure hiv but it failed then they've modified it and tried on hcv where it succeed. So cure may came from that direction.
