Sadly, what you wrote above is typical of the knowledge of probably most health care professionals. Even my own nursing education didn't teach me the REAL risks. what did you mean not anymore ? because i did find some info that was like 2010 and said that if you take the treatment right you wont get aids. how far before did you mean ? years ? months ?

A vaccine is FAR more likely than a cure. For MOST viral infections, there is no cure, and with HIV, a retrovrius, it is unlikely. We still don't have a cure for the common cold, and influenza. The average onset of AIDS after exposure to HIV is 10 years. A person infected with HIV who never received any treatment would start getting very, very sick at that time. Without any treatment after 15 years, a person would have died.
