1273473 tn?1270775840 lately ive been having really bad heartburn, never had it before i started treatment and i havent changed anything im eating or my diet at all really, just wondering if anyone else ever experienced this during treatment, nothing seems to help.
Avatar m tn For a while, I experienced a heartburn/bloating sensation and was diagnosed with gastritis. That has dissipated except for after I have a few drinks, which I subsequently stopped doing. At this point, I feel soreness in my right ribcage, soreness/cramping beneath my ribcage on my far right side (not abdominal), and soreness in my mid-lower right back. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated; thanks.
Avatar m tn I walk daily and eat extremely well (no coffee, tea, alcohol, pop, chocolate, processed foods and any known heart-burn triggers). I sleep with my bed elevated. I don’t lie down within 3 hours after eating. What else could this be? How am I supposed to manage something for which there appears to be no known diagnosis, cause or cure?

362971 tn?1201987034 207 Clearly, for heavy alcohol users, efforts should be undertaken to treat the alcohol abuse and dependence before starting treatment, but treatment is not contraindicated for persons who have an occasional drink of alcohol or who have a history of alcoholism. Although no consensus opinion exists, it seems reasonable to recommend either the complete suspension of alcohol intake while on treatment or to restrict the use of alcohol to an occasional drink during the course of the treatment.
Avatar f tn The heartburn is due to your muscles relaxing. There isn't much you can do except eat smaller more frequent meals and don't lie down after sleeping. Drink some milk when it gets bad. I have 6 weeks left and heartburn just hot me. I asked the midwife for remedies and she said there isn't anything effective. I guess it's just one of those pregnancy things we have to deal with.
Avatar m tn Everytime I go out, about once a month, I have severe epigastri pain after drinking a couple drinks, it lasts for about half an hour and it gets so bad i vomit and have sweats, after the half hour or so I'm fine, what could this be? When I was pregnant with my 3rd child 2 years ago I would have heartburn so bad I would spit up blood, so I don't know if this has anything to do with it, maybe a stomach ulcer or something? Thats the only time it hurst though is when i drink alcohol....
Avatar n tn Hi, This could be an alcohol intolerance. Alcohol can cause effects on the body such as headache, rapid heartbeat, nausea or vomiting, heartburn, abdominal pain, nasal congestion, or warm, red, itchy skin. With intolerance, you are more sensitive to these effects compared to other people. In particular, many people of Asian descent experience an unusual flushing reaction after drinking alcohol. This is due to a genetic disorder in which the body is unable to break down alcohol completely.
Avatar f tn m 18 and of a perfectly healthy weight, but for the past 3 years, ive suffered with severe Acid Reflux. Ive tried and tested many medications to relieve my severe symptoms of heartburn and food entering my esophagus, (with fail) and I have finally been booked in for an endoscopy as my Doctor suggested i may have a hiatus hernia. Although i am releived to be finally on my way to getting to the bottom of my problem, at present im having alot of trouble with my bowels.
Avatar f tn I had a low ejection fraction and was having attacks followed by constant heartburn. Post surgery I still have the constant heartburn. Nothing makes it better. I have tried, dexalant, prilosec, zantac, tagament. I just started yesterday with green stools. No diarrhea but softer bright green stools. The gall bladder attacks have subsided but I feel like I can't eat anything without being in pain from the heartburn. It is severe!

Avatar n tn My husband has heartburn ALL THE TIME. He throws up literally after every meal and sometimes at random times. This did not just start. It's gradually gotten worse in the past few years. It started out just occasional heartburn and throwing up after a spicy meal. Now, it doesn't matter what he eats, it makes him sick. I'm so worried about it but he doesn't have health insurance.
Avatar m tn It is unknown whether consuming less alcohol compromises HCV treatment response (44) . In patients with recent alcohol consumption, there were higher treatment discontinuation rates; however, in those who completed HCV therapy, SVR was similar in drinkers and nondrinkers (45) . Thus, alcohol users should not be excluded from antiviral therapy but treatment adherence should be stressed (9) . RECOMMENDATIONS IN PATIENTS WITH ONGOING ALCOHOL USE 1.
