I am just not sure if these are two separate issues and just coincidentally occur at the same time or if one problem causes the other one to occur. There are no other symptoms besides reflux symptoms (feeling of wanting to vomit, bitter taste in the mouth, worse heartburn when lying down). No bloody stools, no abdominal pain, watery stools (very watery like peeing) up to 3X/day. I would appreciate any advice.
Just wondering if anyone else had experienced gallstones when pregnant. Im 37 weeks and have been experiencing severe pain under my right rib for the last 3 weeks. My OB sent me for an abdominal ultrasound yesterday and has just phoned to say that they found several small stones.
This started about a little over a month ago. I began to lose my appetite and I couldn't eat as much. I had pretty bad heartburn that would burn up to my ear. I've thrown up on two occasions in the morning a very bitter green liquid. The last 2 weeks, the heartburn has mostly gone away and I do have an appetite, but now I have really bad nausea right when I wake up and it lasts the entire day (just not as bad as when I first wake up).
I HAVE GALLSTONES AND HAVE BEEN GETTING HEARTBURN TOO OFTEN. I AM TRYING TO CHANGE MY DIET BUT IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYTHING I EAT STILL GIVES ME PAIN. DOES ANYONE HAVE A LIST OF BASIC FOODS I CAN EAT????
Again i dony say this to scare you but i wish i had known the symptoms of a gallstone are similiar to heartburn and gallstones are more common in pregnant women who have had previous pregnancies as your organs shift to make room for baby.

Pain would be worse after the meal, especially one rich with fats. CT cannot exclude gallstones, since very small gallstones can not be detected. Ultrasound is also not enough.
You can:
1. observe, if symptoms is worse after a fatty meal (this speks for gallstones). If yes...
2. ...then you can have HIDA scan - this is the most accurate test for gallbladder function.
What meds are you taking?
I get really bad heartburn at work.. which is not ideal since I work in surgery and can't leave!.. A wiser and older nurse makes a 7up and salt mixture for me. I drink a cup full and I feel so much better.. Can't hurt to try! Hopefully you find relief...
I have heartburn everyday everytume I eat I feel like I'm drowning and sometimes at night I throw up in my mouth.
Anyone ever had gallstones in pregnancy? What did your doctor do other than change your diet? Did you have to have the surgery after delivery? I'm on a low fat diet and I did an H. Pylori test this week and get an u/s next week for my gallbladder. I've never had problems like this before.

They did an mri and I was told that my appendix is fine but they did find gallstones. Afterwards I stopped being able to go to the bathroom and had not gone #2 since the day before ER 3days prior then my chest started hurting and it felt like heartburn which I figured it was because of the constipation. With the meds from the Dr. I finally went number 2.
Im 33 wks 2 days along. & i dnt feel any symptoms that I should be expecting Right now. At least i dnt think so.
I have swelling in my legs my feet my face And my hands.
I have pregnancy carpal tunnel in both hands.
& pressure on my pelvis bone.

i just went threw a ph test and motlity test. have been waiting for results. i am told that the gall bladder and heartburn are not related. Both symptoms started last year at the same time and have been suffering with stomach pain, nausea so bad i got dehydrated because i could not eat, i feel weak and tired all the time, loose stools that look yellowish in color, and still having heartburn despite the 4 times a day i take omperzole. I have tried changing my diet.
I felt great afterward until early october when I began having burning like pains in my upper abdominal area, hunger pains, heartburn, more fequent bowel movements with excessive gas. I was given prevacid for 4 weeks and been tested for the H. Pylori virus via urea breath test which was negative. My CT scan was normal except for a few small kidney stones and my ultrasound again revealed the same 3-4mm size gallbladder polyps.
Breathing is more difficult when my bowels are full and more so if eating heavy or fatty foods. Some acidic fruits or wine can cause it. I get severe heartburn with some foods.My upper stomach often distends, and the majority of my bulk is around my middle section.I feel most comfortable when my bowels are totally empty. My stools are lighter in colour, often very soft and sometimes watery.
I had an ultrasound today but no gallstones were present which were my initial diagnosis. Does anyone have any suggestions?
my symptoms started slowly over the past couple of years. Sometimes I would get nauseaus for a few days every now and then. When i had my baby over a year ago, after giving birth i had a weird taste in my mouth and i felt sick for days. Every week i would have days where i was bed ridden the nausea was so bad. Then out of the blue i started getting a burning sensation in my throat and a sensation of a lump when swallowing.
I have never felt anything like this...but since yesterday I've had hard gas pains, diarrhea, fullness and bloating. Today the right side of my head is hurting along with tension in my right shoulder along with the other symptoms and I've been up since 1 a.m. due to this. Today I've finally felt the nausea...i had a couple of ritz crackers and felt like I was going to lose it all. I was able to handle the activia yogurt...
