What are the odds that I would develop GI cancer at my age, with all of the symptoms I experienced for almost 15 years? I am really scared. I realize that my symptoms are most likely GERD/acid reflux, but it's still distressing to know that GERD could eventually lead to cancer. :( The ER doctors were very efficient in treating me. They prescribed Pepcid AC 40 mg for two weeks to treat my symptoms.

Hi, Most lung cancer would have symptoms referable to the lung before other symptoms arise which would be aches and pains as you have described. Cancer pain is also more severe, and tends to be have a longer duration. If the aches and pains are associated with certain positions and movements, then it may be more arthritis than cancer. The heartburn and nausea are likewise important. Are there variations with the severity as well? Could these be related with your work/ lifestyle?

I was recently diagnosis through blood work with h pylori. My symptoms were gnawing, hunger type pains, constantly growling stomach, and loss of appetite. I was sick for Two weeks before diagnosed . One evening I got horrible heartburn and now again last night after eating a few crackers. I am on my 6 th day of the prev Pac. I have gained most of my appetite back and the growling and gnawing is gone.

Hi. I am concerned about stomach cancer. I have suffered from heartburn/indigestion for some months. I am 42 and female. Is it unusual at my age? I had a ct that found 2 small lung nodules and a sclerotic bone lesion in my spine which is probably a bone island according to ct report. The nodules are beeing followed up but not the lesion. Is mets to bone and lungs a possibility with stomach cancer?

I didnt go on meds because it was found in routine endo and i didnt have symptoms. I get heartburn off and on, but it always goes away. this last time started with a head cold, ear ache.for a few days. then the pain in ear went away. but I was still getting the runny nose and blowing it alot. Now---this may sound crazy,,but after i was blowing my nose the one day I noticed a lump in my throat--it felt like a big burp--bubble deep in throat---I brushed it aside bec ause it went away.

I just wanted to put this out there....if you have constant heartburn after your thyroidectomy, or even if you still have your thyroid, please get it checked out. I finally went in and had an endoscopy because of the heartburn following my thyroid surgery last December. Hi everyone. I quit smoking just over one month ago. I've been wanting to quit for several years now but finally took advantage of a situation I was in and carried on with it. It all started with some sort of stomach virus. Experienced the usual not so fun and pretty gross stuff that go along with any stomach flu. During these couple of days, I couldn't eat and the throught of smoking or drinking coffee totally repulsed me.

For the past 2 years I have had digestive problems- the usual heartburn, diarrhea, abdominal pains, bloating, gas. I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux Disease after visiting my gastroenterologist and having an endoscopy done. Two years later, the problems have persisted and gotten worse, this time with pain in my upper right side and upper back area(gallbladder area). I was diagnosed with having gallstones and had my gallbladder removed a week ago.

This can occur even without symptoms of heartburn. I would recommend empiric treatment with an over-the-counter antacids such as Prilosec or Zantac. If you have not had laryngoscopy by an ENT, this would also be helpful in such an evaluation.

lol it's still VERY early for you!!! maybe you're having symptoms super early, but that's REALLY early for heartburn & stuff.. unless you're eating something to cause it. a lot of women don't get symptoms until 6 weeks or further along.. I'm up once again, 4:30 a.m. with heartburn, insomnia, ugh.. I still feel blessed though!!!

I am a 47 year old woman who has had symptoms for a couple of years (hoarseness, lump in throat, sometimes dry cough, etc.). I know that I have a nodule on my vocal chords as well as 2 nodules (one in each lobe) in my thyroid. The thyroid nodules are approximately 3 mm each. According to the ultrasound reports (I had one recently and also one three years ago), my thyroid gland is not enlarged and the nodules haven't changed significantly.

I am having the same symptoms. Heartburn, back pain, lightheaded and neausea, I also had lots of belching but I do that to try and stop the neausea. I took my blood pressure and it was 146/91 and BPM was 86, my normal is about 110/66 and BPM is about 65 to 70. I had Reflux surgery 15 years ago and have not had heartburn since, until last night. I have had no other symptoms other than the bleeding which I keep reading is not a common symptom of ovarian cancer although I have been constipated somewhat. Heartburn I have and have always had and I have read that if over the counter rolaids work than that is a good sign. When ever I have heartburn and take them it goes away quickly. I have always always had heartburn. Please help me with this I am so scared. How much does a tech really know about what they see?
