I take medicine for heartburn too. And I take a Tylenol if my headaches get to bad.

Had it for months and it only got better now at the end of my pregnancy. You can take any heartburn medicine you can buy in supermarkets, I used gaviscon and it was really good.

I suffered with heartburn almost all my pregnancy...I'm so upset I didn't tell my Dr sooner because I thought he would tell me tums or zantac..but he prescribed a medication named pantoprazole sod 40 mg. Girl every since I started it I have had no heartburn at all, not even that gassy bloated feeling I also had...so talk to your Dr about the medication and see what he says. Best wishes.

which over-the-counter antacid/heartburn medicine worked best for you?? I get it pretty often, and im making chili for dinner so i know im really gunna need something to help with it tonight. :) I'm 28 weeks and never had any issues with acid reflex or heartburn till a few weeks ago and now some night its gets so bad that it keeps me up at night. I REALLY dont want to take any medicine during my pregnancy, but this is something i just cant solve myself. tried everything already.

With my first son I had heartburn bad and throughout the whole pregnancy and he was bald. With my daughter I had no heartburn and she came out with a full head of hair.

My Dr prescribed Zantac 75mg and they did nothing for me. I had to take two. Now he changed the dose to 150mg and they seem to be working most of the time. When they don't, I drink milk and try to sit up. Laying down makes it worst. Hope you feel better!

Im 27 since today and im having alot of heart burn can i drink medicine for that or no?

Peppermint will help. However, the heartburn in pregnancy isn't caused by what we eat. It is caused because the hormones relax the muscle that keeps your stomach acid down. Even with prescription meds, there is no 100% relief. Try propping up and not laying flat.

The first time I had heartburn I took Prilosec. It works wonders! It's a 24 hour medicine. I highly recommend it and it's safe during pregnancy.

I am 19 and have irregular periods. I have many pregnancy symptoms such as tender breasts back pain headaches bloated frequent urination heartburn. I have taken two home tests and they where negative but I was sick and had taken cold medicine not thinking. I don't know what to do. Could the cold medicine have effected the test?

Zantac is a over the counter pregnancy safe medicine that I take for extreme heartburn and it works amazing. It's a tiny little pill that you swallow.

Try eating smaller portions of food, I started getting heartburn with this pregnancy and that's what I've been doing, just eat smaller portions and drink milk!

I feel your pain! During my first trimester I was miserable! The gas was horrid! Thankfully my husband is very supportive and would comfort me and help me find ways to deal with it all. Unfortunately, I found no way to cope. I just had to ride it out. Try an antiacid that doubles as a calcium supplement. That really helped with the heartburn. I'm 24 weeks now and still dealing with gas and heartburn but it is not near as bad as it was. Hang in there mama!

yesterday i had bad diarrhea but it stopped by itself , when i woke up this morning i wokeup with a runny nose and all other symptoms of common cold.. in addition to sever heartburn.. i only took panadol for the cold but it didn't work, i need some cold medication safe during pregnancy as well as something for the heartburn..

I have awful heartburn and acid reflux. I usually take some tums with a little bit of milk and make sure I sit up afterwards. I have severe nausea too and the heartburn always makes me get sick again. It's common in pregnancy... but I know how bad it *****!

Seriously going insane with heartburn and reflux. It never goes away! Tums don't seem to help. Today I didn't eat for like 9 hours, had only water and still...it hung around. What can I do to make it go away or do I just have to live with it?

To say this pregnancy has been easy would be a complete mistake. This is my second pregnancy. My son is now and six and I am pregnant with a girl. Excited but very miserable. I'm on anti nausea medicine (I'm up to taking four dicligest a day) just to keep from vomiting everything or anything I consume. I have indigestion/ heartburn from hell. Nothing helps. I swear I'm getting it just from smelling food. I can't sleep and even if I could the indigestion makes it impossible.

I don't know if you have anything similar in the US but I use a medicine called Gaviscon here, it's a dual medicine that work on your acid reflux and indigestion.

You can eat them but make sure you have some heartburn medicine somewhere close by. You'll probably get horrible heartburn!

Even if I drink water/milk or eat crackers. It just comes out of no where no matter what I do. I can take my medicine and all it does is hurt my stomach and make me nauseous. It feels like its eating me from the inside out sometimes..
