Common Questions and Answers about Heartburn foods acid reflux

heartburn

Avatar f tn I also had it extremely bad and I thought dairy was supposed to help and as I see it did for some woman but heartburn and acid reflux go hand in hand. Dairy will help with heartburn but make acid reflux worse. I learned after a month or so lol I cut out a good portion of it especially near bedtime. My advise is to look up acid foods and stay clear of them as much as possible. Good luck!!!!

Avatar m tn http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/list?cid=236 I included a link for our Health Pages where u can go to read a list of foods to avoid and lifestyle tips that can help u feel better. Many say apple cider vinegar helps, I am not sure I can bring myself to try that, But drinking a glass of apple cider has helped along with eating a piece of fresh fruit everyday. I am on meds but since drinking the apple cider , I have been able to cut back on my meds.

193988 tn?1215023883 yes, very good question, even though the acid is neutralised, it is still corrosive to the oesaphagus, because the oesaphagus was never designed to tolerate acid, it must stay acid free, now the real problem with acid reflux is the valve or door to the stomach, when its not functioning properly, no matter how well you eat youll always have acid reflux, so to be on the safe side have an endoscopy to really be sure of the underlying acid problem.
Avatar n tn there are many foods and actions that truly affect my acid reflux as well as just the acid content of my stomach.

Avatar f tn If it is to the point of vomiting I would assume its more likely to be acid reflux than just regular heartburn. Most PPIs are safe for pregnancy (Zantac, Prevacid, Prilosec) but be sure to check with your doc to check first. If it is that severe home remedies arent going to do much, but keep in mind with these meds it takes around 1-2 weeks for symptoms to subside, its not an immediate cure.
Avatar n tn Sounds like acid reflux. Avoid spicy foods, and maybe some dairy products. Acid reducers would probably help as well.

Magnesium deficiency causes so many symptoms including acid reflux ironically. Magnesium is essential for proper heart rhythm. Calcium contracts the muscles, magnesium relaxes the muscle. Avatar f tn Does anyone get acid reflux? I get it eating spicy foods n when I eat any types of sauces. What do u do to relieve it? I never had this w my other 3 pregnancys. I also get burps n hiccups a lot after I eat n get full fast. This pregnancy is totally different.
Avatar f tn I have acid reflux and didn't want to take zantac with my first pregnancy so I was using a bottle of tums a day! Tums is great for the calcium but really ***** for persistent heartburn/reflux. Zantac stopped working for me and I've been on prilosec for a while now. Just one a day. Over the counter is more expensive than zantac but works better in my opinion.
Avatar f tn I do know that since I have stopped drinking coffee and avoiding the other foods, I have way less acid reflux.
