I dont know... WHen I looked my throat in the morror, I see little red veins has appeared . Doctor checked only my blood pressure which was normal and refused to do further checking of heart , telling that I might be very young to have heart attack.
Avatar n tn A heart attack is an event that destroys heart muscle due to lack of blood/oxygen supply to heart cells. The lack of oxygen causes cell necrosis, but sometimes when treated appropriately within 72 hours the cells may be revived (heart cells were dormant). A heart attack can be without symptoms, or have symptoms chest pain, etc. About 5 years ago my first symptoms of having had a "silent" heart attack were symptoms of congested heart failure.
Avatar m tn I am a 24 year old male and have been experiencing tightness in neck, chest, and sometimes shoulder area. The tightness is not painful like I could have a heart attack but more irritating. I had surgery for a hiatal hernia and had laparoscopic fundoplication done and I also have scoliosis. I've been to a chiropractor for my tightness to see if that would help but it just came right back. Wonder if this could be related to my scoliosis.
Avatar n tn Does this sound like heart attack symptoms? I have been put on a prescription for beta blocker and given nitro spray, had an ecg, chest xray and blood tests but still waiting for results.
955560 tn?1250194545 Hi, some people suffer from heartburn due to anxiety, panic attack or stress. Heartburn is due to gastric acid, this can happen in the breast bone (the bone in the middle both left and right of the rib cage, also know as the esophagus. This can be like burning sensation or pain which feels like near the heart. If this occurs often you may have GERD. If you feel at somepoint when you burp or breath out, you taste and feel acid appear up your throat and mouth.
1069143 tn?1471312610 I have heartburn, gas, and chest pain... I am a little worried, what causes this.
Avatar n tn It could be. I was talking to one of my friends who is only 15. He describes that he gets the exact same thing on occasion. We seem to agree that when we breathe in it hurts so we have to breathe in slightly and breathe out more until the sharp pain subsides, which is usually after about a minute. Honestly, I'm pretty convinced now that it's heartburn since my friend described that he gets it too.
Avatar f tn Yesterday I posted about my heart racing and it being hard to take deep breaths at times. I've talked with several people today and everyone said it is most likely an anxiety/panic attack. My OB referred me to a cardiologist (who should call me tomorrow) so I'll go in to see them just to make sure. A lot of things have been going on. For example- my diet. I haven't been able to eat meat this pregnancy. All of it makes me gag and I can't eat it.
Avatar f tn What is making me nervous is sometimes I will wake up in the middle of the night from feeling the flutter and start to panic which causes my heart to feel like it is racing causing an anxiety attack. My question is am I really waking up from the heartburn or could I be having palpitations or an abnormal heart beat. Can acid cause this feeling? I have been to Dr.s and have had EKG's with everything normal. I am not overweight and exercise daily.
Avatar n tn Try not to eat before you sleep or lie down. Don't get over full. Your stomach is being pushed so high up so the room for food is quite small. I'd say a hot cup of tea ( caffeine free of course) with your meal. But try to drink after you finish eating. Sometimes if you eat and drink the food gets elevated but you don't get full so it causes your stomach to over fill. Go for a walk after you eat to help your food digest a but quicker.
Avatar f tn When I asked how much damage was done to the heart, I was told none. How is this possible without it being a heart attack. I didn't have a clot ,and I had a nstemi attack. T wave abnormaliries on my ECG Thanks for any help.
Avatar f tn Heartburn can cause burning sensation in the epigastrium. In very few cases it can indicate serious causes like a heart attack. It is best to get a clinical examination done. You may need tests like X-ray chest and ECG depending on the clinical findings. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
739294 tn?1235689667 He said that the nerves for your stomach are close to the ones that they work on and in some people it causes heartburn. He gave me something for it and it has helped. The heartburn was gone after about a month. I don't take aspirin by the way. Tomorrow I get the pleasure of having my second Ablation because the first one didn't do the trick. Yipeeeeeeee!
Avatar f tn I am the same way, to the point that the idea of eating is horrifying! sounds so silly but try clementines, i swear by them! have them in my pocket when i'm out of the house and about 12 by my bedside every night! not sure what it is maybe the natural vitamins or the acid that fights it! but they relieve my heart burn!
Avatar f tn These symptoms would be the result of a low cardiac output caused by impaired and damaged heart walls because of the heart attack. I had a silent heart attack about 7 years ago. You shouldn't be overly concerned about the results of an EKG. Thanks for sharing your experience, and if you have any followup questions, you are welcome to ask. Take care.
Avatar n tn Rennies. If its soo bad your doc might prescribe omeprazole. I take them due to a stomach condition, I still get heartburn a bit though.
Avatar n tn ve heard often females (if you are one) can experience a heart attack like heartburn. The may also check for a pinched/aggravated nerve about your shoulder, arm, and finger sensations, though you can have shoulder pain with a heart attack too. Esophageal spasms and chest muscle wall pain are a couple more examples of chest pain causes.

948996 tn?1245949077 Try not to worry as it could have been only a small heart attack with no heart muscle damage. People can have heart attacks with pacemakers. My Mom had several with her pacemaker over 12 year period.
Avatar n tn It is estimated about 26% of the heart disorder population have had a silent heart attack and are unaware. I had had a silent heart attack about 5 years ago, and the first symptom was congested heart failure. Heart cells where ineffective in contracting the ventricle due to a lack of blood supply.
1154065 tn?1262184706 Heartburn and the pain produced by it are different from the chestpain in heart attack, chestpain in heart attack are dull pressured or crushing pain that will left u down on ur knees where as chestpain from heartburn is a feeling of burning sensations and it usually goes away as soon once u take antacid for it.
Avatar f tn I've been having really bad chest pain all night I can't sleep because of it. It's so hard to breath it feels like a stabbing pain I'm 32+3 weeks I've been trying to wait till my doctors office opens but is getting worst I have never in my life had pain like this and it's starting to scare me. Has anyone else experienced pain like this.
Avatar n tn He took Prilosec OTC once a day prior to his heart attack for heartburn/reflux. Since his heart attack and stent, his heartburn/reflux has become much more frequent and severe. His doctor prescribed Protonix 40 mg once a day, but he still has to take antacids throughout the day to try to control it. Has anyone else experienced this and how did you resolve it?
