1814992 tn?1316890851 Im not sure if it heart attack or heartburn or something else. I didnt experience any shortness of breath, dizziness , fainting . I even think that it could be nerve demage . I dont know... WHen I looked my throat in the morror, I see little red veins has appeared . Doctor checked only my blood pressure which was normal and refused to do further checking of heart , telling that I might be very young to have heart attack.
Avatar m tn I have had heartburn for as long as I can remember (over5+ years) and took a lot of Ibuprofen and Aspirin for a heart attack scare a few weeks ago. I stopped taking them and currently only take tums when needed. I am currently on an anxiety medication to help calm me down. I feel fatigue most of the time. I have had no blood in my stool (no tarry stools) and have not vomitted blood or anything. I do, however, feel nauseous sometimes.

1534233 tn?1523388856 I have been to the doctor so many times, it always takes a long time to describe the symptoms as its seldom the same doctor, once they have asked the heart related questions and ruled that out they always focus on anxiety or sometimes heartburn. Im seeing a counsellor for anxiety and dont believe I can drink any more gaviscon! I dont think its heartburn. Any ideas anyone?
Avatar f tn Sometimes women can be having a heart attack and perceive it as heartburn- have they ruled out heart problems, such as CHF? Have they checked gallbladder and liver function?
Avatar n tn Does this sound like heart attack symptoms? I have been put on a prescription for beta blocker and given nitro spray, had an ecg, chest xray and blood tests but still waiting for results.
1092880 tn?1273975025 I too feel constant chest pressure/tightness, and an occasional pain in the left side, and sometimes I get electrical shock feels in my chest. When i am standing up, it feels better for me as well. Do you get terrible heartburn? I have had horrible heartburn for the last week or so and a constant feeling like I need to burp. I even get heartburn before I eat, or well after I eat. It seems like no matter what we do in our lives, that we are always thinking about it. I wish I had answers.
Avatar f tn After my first child I began to have extreme chest pain. It felt like a heart attack, faintness, difficulty breathing, it was excruciating. At the time they lasted about 1 1/2 hr, but they were only a couple times a year for about 5 years or so. Over time they began to become more frequent and they would last for periods more along the lines of 12 hours or so, a couple months a year, a couple days a month, and now every time I swallow any type of food or any drink besides water.
1662361 tn?1302762372 my regular dr wants me to get an upper GI which i can not afford because he wants to see where the ulcer is, the hospital just says i have heartburn, I know heartburn and this is not it, this is pain like someone is tearing my stomach a part and its a sharp pain even into my back, everything makes it hurt worse. So does anyone know any ways to make it hurt less? I am trying to get some medical asstance so i can pay for the tests. Any ideas or advice is welcome.
Avatar n tn After rulling out a blood clot or heart attack, they diagnosed it as esophageal spasms and prescribed me a low dose of Xanex to relax the muscle when an attack occurs. The next time it happened, the Xanex helped very quickly. My spasms came in waves with a few minutes rest between the attacks. I would scream and scrunch up grabbing my chest trying to breath. The attacks I had after that day were not as serious. Either that or I cut off a full blown attack with the Xanex.
Avatar m tn Can being really underweight cause CAD , heart attack and other heart problems.
Avatar n tn I have been living with heartburn for a long time now an have seen a doctor about it Im going back to doctor again an hoping to have the scope put down to find out what it is, could it be a ulcer? or something worse thats coursing this for me...
Avatar n tn It could be. I was talking to one of my friends who is only 15. He describes that he gets the exact same thing on occasion. We seem to agree that when we breathe in it hurts so we have to breathe in slightly and breathe out more until the sharp pain subsides, which is usually after about a minute. Honestly, I'm pretty convinced now that it's heartburn since my friend described that he gets it too.
Avatar f tn Hmm I did a pcv yesterday because of the black stool and it came back as 35% for a 20 year old female I think it's OK. The baking soda thing scares me, and I read a lot about nexium it's certainly out of line.
994817 tn?1249738278 I would start to feel like I was going to pass out, chest pain, etc. You actually feel like you are having a heart attack. They put me on Proazc, and I haven't had another panic attack since! As for your stomach, you really need to go to a Gastro Doctor. Are you the nervous type? I ask, because I am, and I've had IBS ever since I was a kid. I get terrible spasms, whenever I get upset. Please, try to find a doctor, to check you out?
728897 tn?1231388093 Also, last weekend, I thought I was having some kind of attack at night, so on Saturday morning I went to the ER, I was afraid maybe was having heart attack. At the ER I had a chest xray done which was fine (thank god!), and an abdominal sonogram. It turned out I have a stomach ulcer. Dr. gave me prescription for antacids and told me to go on diet. Whew!!! That was easy. So this coming Saturday, I have an appointment with the Gastro DR. to fully investigate this.
Avatar n tn Hi Cass167, sorry you are having this problem. Since the over the counter meds are not working you should see a doctor. They may need to do an Upper GI to make sure you don't have an ulcer. Also, The chest pain and back pain needs to be checked too. I don't want you to put off going to the doctor but it does take a month or two for Zantac or Prilosec to heal an ulcer or you may reflux even if you don't feel it. Please get this checked out.
Avatar m tn Can being really underweight cause CAD , heart attack and other heart problems. I am severely underweight due to intestinal ulcer and i have a BMI of only 13 .
Avatar m tn In January of this year (2008) I was having heartburn so bad it made me sick with feeling of muscle cramps on the right side of my chest. My doctor prescribed a 2 week course of Nexium. The heartburn went away for a few days after the 2 weekes but returned. Maalox used to help but after a few days of constant heartburn the doc told me to buy Prilosec which worked well.
Avatar f tn 6 weeks ago I started waking up in the night with what I can only describe as heart burn - severe pain in my chest. I had heartburn during pregnancy and this pain feels nothing like this. Its just an intense pain in my chest it varies from the middle to all over the chest to just one sided, it feels like a cramping or crushing feeling. It starts before I eat and gets worse after wards. I also have pain on and off just under my right rib cage, also lately the smelliest light tan/yellow stools.
Avatar m tn Did the doctor check you to make sure your heart is okay, as in women, a problem with your heart can potentially give the feeling like heartburn? Did the dr. check for h. pylori, the bacteria known to cause ulcer formation? Have they done an upper GI scope on you to try to properly diagnose your condition and not just a CT scan? Not a doctor, but since everything you are eating is giving you heartburn, I think there is a fair possibility you have gastritis going on.
Avatar n tn A heart attack is an event that destroys heart muscle due to lack of blood/oxygen supply to heart cells. The lack of oxygen causes cell necrosis, but sometimes when treated appropriately within 72 hours the cells may be revived (heart cells were dormant). A heart attack can be without symptoms, or have symptoms chest pain, etc. About 5 years ago my first symptoms of having had a "silent" heart attack were symptoms of congested heart failure.
