Full fat dairy is considered healthier by many than modified products, while others advocate non- or low-fat. For health purposes, avoiding dairy would be the best thing, as most people don't tolerate it very well but don't always notice that until later in life, but if this is just an occasional treat and you don't notice increased inflammation or mucous then go for it.

We are also the only species that drinks milk past infant stage. My father was fed on goats milk because of this same problem. You may be able to speak to your Dr about receiving donated breast milk from other mothers. They use this especially with premature babies but your son may be a good candidate. Don't drink soy milk as stated above its actually not good for you. If you don't want to drink regular milk try goats milk or almond milk. But unless your lactose intollerent there's no reason for you to be drinking something other than cows milk.
Google the benefits of goats milk compaired to regular milk. I hear what Lazy Moose is saying about mammals not needing milk after they are weened (my daughter's doctor says the same thing), however, this is easier for adults to go without than growing kids! So we don't over do it and use just a small amount each day of the goats milk. I would like to know both of your opinions on the goats milk, if you have any thoughts.

I just got a prescription from the Pediatrician to switch him to Pasterized Goats Milk. Meyenberg Brand goats milk is awesome. I had to do this for my now 6 year old around the same age.......completely and immediately resolved his issues (the same one) also.

Goats milk is really comparable to breastmilk honestly I don't like formula it stinks and makes babies throw up more and stains. Goats milk is natural and a little more expensive if you can find it.
Esbalac is your best choice as it is closest to the mother's milk as far as fat content. I too have fed goats milk with sucess, however, it can lead to loose stools and stools that are not the correct color; if the puppy's stools are a white or greying color, that is not good. Get yourself some Esbalac and you should be okay.

Gluten, peanuts, artificial sweeteners, regular milk (use almond milk) (I have also found a local dairy/farm that carries fresh goats milk and cows milk, so we are giving the goats milk a try which is high in protein and tast great with no hormones or preservatives) and sugar are avoided as much as possible (fungal and blood sugar issues with these). Eat REAL food with high protein as much as possible.
