Flomax renal stone

Common Questions and Answers about Flomax renal stone

flomax

Avatar m tn I remain on Flomax and fluids, while trying to resume normal functioning (not allowing a 3 mm stone to take over…) Two brief questions: 1. Could the stone have passed -- without me “catching” it -- despite the use of a strainer? 2. I am scheduled to give a lecture abroad in mid-April and am told it is OK to go – whether or not the stone is out. Do you approve? Thank you again for your generosity! You are providing an important service for which I am truly grateful.
Avatar f tn I went to hospital took FLOMAX and two days later passed the stone....
Avatar m tn He put me on torodol 3 times a day, 1000 mg tylenol as needed for pain, flomax, and an anti nausea medication. I have been referred to an urologist to have the +4mm stone crushed. he also did repeat bloodwork and urine, it all is still coming back normal. My advice to you Ncypantz is to be your own adovocate and trust your instincts, only you know your body. We do not all present symptoms in the same way.

656452 tn?1332783935 Hi, Is "the most proximal aspect of the left ureter" the Ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) ? I'm asking because my Urologist has spoken to me about my report, etc., and said the stone in my ureter is high up near the kidney. I've heard about a UPJ obstruction before, but forgot to ask him on the phone. Presently, my symptoms are mild (which was not the case over the weekend), so we're waiting 2 weeks to image again.
Avatar m tn Internist prescribed Flomax to help passage of stone by relaxing the muscles of the ureter -- where stone is supposedly currently stuck. Checked urine -- no infection or blood traces. Less abdominal pressure, but still constant urge to urinate -- which is at least partially related to water consumption. Waiting... Happy, healthy birthday!
Avatar f tn Now one week to the day the results have returned,l am pain free but ultrasound shows a non obstructive 8mm stone in my right kidney, slight prominence of the right renal pelvics but no other features of renal tract obstruction..... My Doctor has said we wait till any further pain or discomfort and will then refer me to a Urologist. My question is would l have already passed a stone?
Avatar n tn How big has been the stone when detected? The urination problem is due to the obstruction by the stone. The symptoms correlate well with the stone in the urethra. The stone has to be removed either through flushing, surgery or through lithotripsy based on the size. In the meanwhile continue flomax and consult your physician.
Avatar n tn If your doc prescribed Flomax for the kidney stone, more than likely that is the issue, as it is also prescribed for prostate issues, and is a blocker, like the above poster mentioned. I know this, as I have the same issue... The Internet is a lovely thing...
Avatar f tn Yes, when I have a stone or stones, I'll have a much more frequent urge to urinate than when I don't have a stone. I've also experienced a very slight burning sensation at times with a stone too. Are you on anything like Flomax? I've noticed a more frequent urge since I've been taking Flomax too. Not sure if that's the Flomax, or just my age coming into play.LOL!
187666 tn?1331173345 Hello, Most people with kidney stones will have blood in the urine .The urine may be pink or reddish, or the blood may be visible only with urine dipstick testing or microscopic examination of the urine. In people who do not pass kidney stone lithotripsy is the treatment of choice. It is indicated for stones 1 cm or less in the kidney and upper ureter. Contact your doctor if the haematuria is persisting. Persistent haematuria can lead to weakness, dizziness and hypotension.
Avatar f tn I recently passed a 7.5mm stone(I am a 30 year old male). Three years ago I passed on that was bigger, and at that time it was calcium oxalate. This time it is calcium phosphate. I have been drinking about a half of a glass of lemon juice a day(diluted), and am trying to cut back on my sodium, but want to know what kind of dirt I should follow to prevent more stones. I drink a good amount of water a day already and I am vegetarian(I eat eggs and dairy though).
Avatar n tn i went to doctor he did a scan and said there is a 6.9mm stone (he pointed it in lower abdomen , i think in urinary sack ) he said the tone would pass in a week. and gave me medication -Tamsulosin HCl 0.4mg ,and pain killers . after that day i haven't felt any pain , a mild burning sensation was there yesterday.. but NO serious pain... im wondering now what to do., as i have traveled to another country and visiting a doctor is very expensive here..

Wondering if they will do my csection earlier than planned because of them I feel that I am most likely going to have to stop working now too because im in ao much pain fron it.
Avatar n tn I passed the kidney stone now I started taking Magnesium citrate for kidney stone prevention? and where do I buy 10 mg of pyridoxine (vitamin B6)?
Avatar f tn I have had this current stone since July. The pain and symptoms would come and go to where I could deal with it and continue trying to pass it. In October I finally went to a Urologist and had a CT done because the urinary symptoms had gotten so bad. They said that it was right at the bladder and to take the Flomax and drink up. Over the past few months the urinary symptoms have gotten so awful; almost constant urgency, lots of pressure down there and burning.
Avatar f tn I've been having pain for 2 weeks that's been like my other kidney stones. I've had several surgerys to have them removed in the past so I know what I'm feeling. I went to my urologist today and he told me it's a 2mm stone in my kidney and shouldn't be causing pain. So why am I experiencing pain and was able to know it was a stone? Also I haven't been prescribed anything to help with it except narcotics for the pain. No flomax or anything. I don't know what to do.
472139 tn?1211332563 The resulting obstruction with dilation or stretching of the upper ureter and renal pelvis as well as spasm of muscle, trying to move the stone, can cause severe episodic pain, most commonly felt in the flank, lower abdomen and groin (a condition called renal colic). Renal colic can be associated with nausea and vomiting. Damage to the lining of the urinary tract cancause discoloration of urine.
Avatar m tn The continuing and unchecked deposition of calcium eventually leads to chronic renal insufficiency. Nephrocalcinosis may be complicated by renal stone formation, which adds another element to the causation of renal insufficiency secondary to an obstructive uropathy. The histologic findings include calcium phosphate or calcium oxalate crystal deposits that mainly appear in the renal interstitium, but deposits may also be seen within the renal tubules.
Avatar n tn So I have a 7mm kidney stone that made it about 80% down the ureter before I went to the doctor. The CT scan showed the stone right outside of my bladder, though the pain was just too intense to take at that point. The doctor said 7mm stones usually require help, but this one seemed to be passing on its own. That was 4 days ago. I've been on Flomax since then. I felt some pain around in my groin, but it was more discomfort.
