Flexeril patch

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril patch

flexeril

I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.
Fentanyl is itself a very shot acting medication, but in a patch it becomes a different story. Once you take the patch off, the withdrawals come rather quickly, but they do not tend to last for a very long time. It is still a horribly painful experience, but since it is washed out of the body quickly we are taking days, not weeks. There is really no easy way of detoxing from home. I have dealt with hundreds of addicts who have all told me horror stories of doing it by themselves.
I am prescribed quite a few pain meds and benzo's for Chronic pain and anxiety but need advice on getting off Fentanyl Patch ASAP. I am prescribed Fentanyl Patch 100mcg every 36 hrs, Diladid 8mg 2-3 daily, Percocet 7.5 4 daily, Norco 7.5 4 daily, klonopin 1mg 4x daily, Valium 10mg 2-3 daily, Flexeril 10mg 3x daily, Phenergan 25mg 2x daily. I now am down to taking 50mcg Fentanyl every 72 hrs, 1/2 so 4 mg of Diladid if needed 0-2 a day, 1/2 of Percocet so about 3.
3 days after the myelogram, I developed a spinal heachache/CSF leak that was completely relieved by an epidural blood patch on day 5. About a week after the blood patch, I developed a severe throbbing heachache in the left top side of my head, in one spot, much different than a spinal headache as it doesn't go away when I lay down. The doctor put me on oral steroids (Prednisone) for 5 days. The headache lessened on the steroid, if not went away completely at times.
about 3 years ago i was diagnosed with a herniated disk in my neck that caused INSANE pain. for this i was prescribed the 100 patch. the pain was so bad i wore 4 at a time labled 1-2-3-4. i was nodding out and still in very extreme pain. this went on for two more years as i declined neck/back surgery. about 6 months ago my wife came home and found me on the floor unresponsive and not breathing.....OD. very bad. was narcained (sp) back to life by the EMT.
Guess what, just in time to get pregnant again. Went through this pregnancy taking tramadol, neurontin and flexeril. Had the baby, was in pain. But, then it progressively got worse and turned into HORRIBLE RLS. Was calling this Dr. who I had been seeing for a year and he never prescribed me any pain meds. So, he put me on Lyrica. He kept increasing the doses and I began to "balloon". Gaining weight, and I still had the horrible RLS. Finally, the Dr.
Its been almost 1 week and I have not had good results with the patch. I'm supposed to change the patch every 72 hours, however, after about 48, the skin becomes irritated and itches severely. I realize the Fentanyl would take time to build up in my system but after 5 days I have not had any relief. I intend to call my doctor tomorrow but was looking for any feedback or comments.

I seriously want off fentanyl patch and I never quit before. I had a horrid withdrawal cutting back from the 75 to the 50 mcg. It was absolutely agonizing. Yesterday I was down to the 25 mcg and I took it off. I have some withdrawal effects, but nothing like that first drop 75-50mcg. I have leg/arm aches, sunburnt looking body, feeling like I'm on fire, but not NEARLY as severe as before.
I also detoxed from the patch and percs. IMHO, I would have used the Norcos to wean from the patch because the patch is a very strong med and has a longer half life than the Fentanyl. Do you have any Norcos left?
See if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose for sleep. It will make withdrawals easier.  Please don't start taking the Oxys again as it will only throw you back into withdrawals once you stop again, or make you relapse.  Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter.
I have been on opiates since 2003 for Sciatic nerve impingement (Piriformis Syndrom) and RSD/CRPS. I will be ripping off my last 50mcg patch 6-10-2013 . I have 200 Hydrocodone 7.5-500 T's I am hoping to taper off by using the Hydrocodones. I am very afraid. Because I've had 2 very severe heart attacks back to back. C.O.P.D . Peripheral Neuropathy. Also, would Neurontin help withdrawal?
I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS SOME SORT OF PATCH THAT YOUR DOCTOR CAN PRESCRIBE TO HELP YOU WITHDRAW AND GET OFF THE VICODIN. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THAT IS TRUE AND WHAT IT IS. I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING. I TIRED OF FEELING TIRED AND EXAUSTED.
I just took 1 tab of Xanax half hr ago so I have to wait 30 more mins then take toradol w/ flexeril then go bed. During early AM and Afternoon I break Xanax in half - I take half tab of Xanax then 1 hr later I take Toradol w/ Flexeril (take every 8 hrs as directed). Bedtime - 1 tab of Xanax, wait 1 hr, then take Toradol & Flexeril then hop in bed. Ive been doing this and so far it helps. I'm hanging in there and keep fighting.
I went in for head pain, mouth and teeth pain. I have a history of CSF leak- spontaneous. UCLA did a blood patch for the possible reoccurance of a CSF leak but I am still experiencing severe pain in the roof of my mouth behind my teeth and sometimes in my teeth and lips. I am currently taking neurontin, flexeril and mobic for inflammation. Prior to going to UCLA, the local doctors were treating me as if I had a sinus infection.
You did not specify whether you were on oral or patch preparation. Once you take the patch off or stop taking the oral Fentanyl, the withdrawals come rather quickly, but they do not tend to last for a very long time. It is still a horribly painful experience, but since it is washed out of the body quickly we are taking days, not weeks. There is really no easy way of detoxing from home. I have been taking Norco 10s 8 per day, and ativan and lithium and flexeril and trazodone. My new doctor doesn't think I should be on the patch since I am only 39. However, I was in a tragic automobile accident three years ago and almost died. I suffered fractures of T3 4 5, Fratuctres C 7, could have been paralyzed, but lucky. My right ankle was compression break in othere words my foot was hanging by a thread, and most my ribs were broke, liver lasseration, and on and on.
I've had no relief from pt or gabapenten prednisone or flexeril or Toradol injection. My back pain has only gotten worse and my leg pain is a shooting sensation along with burning sensation. It's so unbearable it at times makes me sick and faint. I've gotten no help for pain relief and have been suffering too long. This is my first time on here I hope someone has some new answers for me.
I take Paxil, Lithium, Flexeril, Oxycodone, Prevacid, Xanax. The last visit was Thurs and I took my boyfriend with me because the Dr intimidates me. I said I need to know my options. My pain meds are not working like they use to. I have taking the same dose for year and a half. The Dr in Pa where I moved from wanted to put me on Fentanyl Patches so I would have longer relieve. I said no I didn't want anything stronger. Well now I need something different.
Is there a muscle relaxant patch (I'm thinking like a flexeril patch, etc.) If not, is there a muscle relaxant cream.
When I told the doctor this he asked if I wanted to get well. I am on a10 mcg per hour Butran patch plus taking 5-500 hydrocodone 3 times daily and it is like taking nothing. I have been on many anti- inflamatories. My symptoms are pain in right hip. I can not tell you what triggers the pain except the bridge exercise does. Sometimes it feels like a muscle cramp and it gets worse standing walking or any moving and sometime the pain just hurts.
Is 2 months really that long to be on fentalyn patch 25mg every 3 days and oxycodone 5mg every 4 hours. They had her on Oycotin 30mg every 12 hours in hospital plus 2 other narcotic pain killers and she was able to do rehab but still in pain. They stopped oxycotin and other pain medicines on the 11th day when they discharged her and put her on the 25mg patch and oxycodone 5mg. This is her second wreck in 10 months that wasn't her fault and 1st wreck herniated disc.
There are some precautions you need to follow while using the BuTrans patch. While you cannot cut or divide he patches, any patch that is peeling off the edges can be secured with help of a skin tape. You can wear the patch while swimming. However, direct exposure to sun needs to be avoided. You can do so by wearing the patch in an area that would be covered by the clothes you choose to wear (you may need to make some compromises there).
that doctor perscribed me with flexeril( muscle relaxor ) and a script for physical therapy.. the therapy wasnt an option after about 3 weeks of going twice a week. I would get relief from the (PT) rubbing on my back and a T.E.N.S unit but the relief would only last about an hour... 30 bucks for an hour of relief yea right buddy.
I was on Vicoden for over three years, and now am getting good results with a 25 mcg Duragesic patch (change every three days) and Lyrica, 150 mcg twice daily. This is the most pain free I have been in recent memory. I hope that your regimen helps. This is a wonderful forum, and I am sure that there are many others who are going to share their thoughts. All my best to you, and I hope this works for you.
Without medication, my pain level would be at close to a 9. I'm taking Baclofen, Cymbalta,Topamax, and Fentanyl 150mcg (transdermal patch). I see a Pain Medicine Specialist, and his PA, on a very regular basis and they have improved the quality of my life greatly. It took a long time to figure out what worked best, and even with all that I take, I still am not pain free.
Lidoderm patch Ultram (generic brand tramadol) - causes pain in my stomach, can't take it. Toradol (generic brand Ketorolac) Muscle Relaxer: Flexeril (muscle relaxer) Klonopin - generic brand clonazepam. (anxiety and relaxer as well that helps spasms on my back) Robaxin - generic brand Methocarbamol. (muscle relaxer) Baclofen (muscle relaxer) - But I had severe allergic reaction to this med.
