I HAVE NORMAL READINGS OF BLOOD PRESSURE AT HOME WHEN IN A RELAXED FRAME OF MIND BUT i GOT A HIGH READING AT THE DOC. OFFICE A YEAR AGO AND THE NURSE SCARED ME,saying are you feeling okay your reading is high, I totally panicked.

I feel like laughing to know that I'm not alone in this irrational fear. Next time I'm in a dr's office, I'll think of all of you, feeling the same way and take strength from the fact that it's not just me! I'm having a minor outpatient surgery next week and have to see a cardiologist tomorrow because, you guessed it, my heart rate was about 120 while getting my pre-op evaluation.

I realized my BP was directly related to my Anxiety levels and i seem to have developed an irrational fear of Blood Pressure and its complications. I want to rid myself of this fear and Anxiety which i am sure will assist in long term BP management for me. I would appreciate some suggestions on how to do this. Will drugs like Xanax cause long term side effects. Can i do this naturally.

I have this fear of having my blood pressure taken by health professions. When I take it myself at home it's normal. I want to know how I can overcome my fears.

hello, i go to publix every day and check my blood pressure on their vita star blood pressure machine. my first reading is always high like 145/70. but then i take my second and its 130/70. somtimes i come in and its 127/70 or 130/56. i though it was broken so i had some of my friends try it out and their first reading is always high. i dont have inssurance so i cant see a doc. and i have absolutely no money to buy a blood pressure machine for my self. does anyone know whats wrong with me??

i just bought a generic automatic blood pressure machine from wal-greens. I take my blood pressure 3x's a day as directed by my cardiologist. Your BP can definately be elevated by a dr. visit and that is probably why he didn't seem to concerned about it.

Absolutely. I gave myself high blood pressure for the longest time, because I was afraid of the doctor. I had one bad experience with a doctor telling me, "if you don't get your blood pressure down in the next ten mintues, I'm not givng you a birth control prescription". (Still have a deep love for that lady ;-) And for years after that, I had high blood pressure every time I went to any doctor for anything.

If you have no prior history of high blood pressure i would think theres a very good chance as these meds do crazy stuff....... I have read here where those with high BP before tx saw it go down while on treatment...... Good luck going forward.

ve had the irregular HR symbol show up many times on my blood pressure machine - while the machine was beeping perfectly evenly and correlating to an even neck pulse, then I've had it also come up with pvc's as well (feeling them in my chest and hearing the extra beep on the monitor).

Yesterday I had an appointment and my blood pressure was high (143/80) at the beginning of the appointment. I'm a 38 year old female and have always had blood pressure of 117/74 or lower. The odd time it would be 120/80 but this was rare. For the last 4 days i've checked my pressure and it has been on average 129/76 (i check it very regularly at the drug store). I've very concerned that it is this high so quickly. the systolic pressure turned to be that day 18mm hg....then,after puting the machine....i realized the the systolic blood pressure was fluctuating almost from 160mm hg to almost 120 or 130 mm hg in only half an hour,the diastolic blood pressure remained between 80 and 90 mm hg... i usually exercise daily and had no problems,but recently and for about month i stopped exercising...i was under sress cause of my college exams....please any help for a specific reason?

it goes from being too high to being too low.i have medication for high blood pressure and i have to check my blood pressure dailey to see if i need to take the meds or not. the doctor put me on a diet pill for two months, i have lost 25 lbs. while i was on the diet pill i only had to take the blood pressure meds 1 time.now that im off the diet pill, my blood pressure has gone back to being high again. i have had to take my meds everyday.

What are you doing for the high blood pressure? Maybe your blood-pressure medications need adjustment, and/or your diet. You should certainly be able to have normal life activities (including orgasm) even though you have high bp. I'd talk to the doctor.

Went to my maternal fetal medicine doctor today for my every 3 week ultrasound and my blood pressure was 150/100! My blood pressure has always been 120/80 average! I have had a slight headache and fatigue the last couple days. He tells me to go buy a blood pressure machine keep checking and if it gers to 160 call! And gives me a paper about preeclampsia! I leave and feel light headed-like and go buy a digital blood pressure machine check it 2 hours later and it was 107/72.
