Avatar n tn Alternatively, some healthy young people may not have a routine ECG, and LQTS may be suspected because of their family history or because of unexplained fainting episodes. In any family where repeated episodes of fainting or a history of sudden death exists, an investigation of the cause, including LQTS, should be undertaken. Is there a family history? There are treatments for LQTS, including medications such as beta blockers.
Avatar n tn There could be many reasons for unexplained falling from the benign like an inner ear infection to the serious like brain tumors.Unfortunately the only way to know what the cause is, is for the Dr. to run tests and give his medical opinion. The best thing to do is keep the doctor's appointment and be completely honest about all the symptoms even if you think they are unimportant details.
967168 tn?1477584489 I had several tests that showed I had many problems which have gone unexplained and local doctors have not been able to find the answers. Avatar m tn My girlfriend suffers from unexplained drops in blood pressure, sometimes causing her to pass out and even stops her breathing. Tests in hospitals in England have come up with nothing but blaming the drop of blood pressure (sometimes as low as 54/47), but can find no cause for why it drops. They succesfully induced the fainting through tests where she had to step up and down a low platform and running on a treadmill, three times resulting in them having to use crash pads to bring her back.

Avatar f tn Some of us like me have double whammies with NCS/OI [neurocardiogenic syncope and orthostatic intolerance] and heart problems that cause each episode to be worse than normal fainting. The TTT is used to evaluate the cause of unexplained fainting; lightheadedness and dizziness. If you do faint, they raise you down pretty quickly and get your legs up so the blood can flow back to your heart fast. I had mine done at the hospital before my ablation, so others may have had them differently.

Avatar f tn Last week, I had an episode of fainting, I woke up feeling faint then walked few steps before feeling weird and sweating then everything turned black. I couldn't see a single thing, the world was black around me so I started reaching out for a chair I can sit on then the next thing I know, I open my eyes and I'm on the ground. I think this lasted few minutes, I wasn't panicking or anything.
Avatar n tn Now that I have presented with the gastroparesis, he believes that fluctuations in blood sugar may also be contributing to the near fainting episodes and fluctuations in heart and pulse rate. Blood work has not revealed any particularly high or low blood sugars but this would not tell me whether they are fluctuating throughout the day. I noticed duing some research into these problems that the vagus nerve regulates both heart rate and also gastric functions.

Avatar f tn Since talking to a friend of mine, she explained that after her hysterectomy last year she had the exact same symptoms and was even vomiting and fainting. It took her about 5 months for the symptoms to start subsiding. Another friend who has also had a recent hysterectomy is also experiencing the same thing. In 2007, my doctor ordered a CAT scan looking for the explaination to my numbness but discovered I had an enlarged thyroid.
