fainting

Avatar n tn Hi there, I am a 36 year old single woman who has always suffered from severely painful periods that sometimes include fainting. Just yesterday it happened again. This time though, it came suddenly. No pain, no warning. I AM due to get my period but haven't gotten it yet. But, yesterday i had a sudden fainting spell followed by about 20 minutes of torturous pain. I am not on birth control and have not have kids yet... I have made an appt. with both my gyno and doctor. What is up with me?
Avatar n tn And the same thing that changes everything else hormones lol you should probably call your dr just to see what they say.
Avatar m tn Did they check your ferritin (iron stores) and circulating blood iron levels? Did they conduct a tilt table test on you? One thing fatigue can come with is iron deficiency. Please check out the dysautonomia forum, where a number of fainting community members are active. http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn That happen to me a lot. The hormones were missing, I even get sick to my stomach . Something to think about.... at least your not alone...
Avatar n tn for the past year my 18 year old daughter had episodes of fainting, She has seen doctors and had tests done and still no one can tell why she is getting this. is there anything else that u recomend?
364288 tn?1300144506 Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! I just had a quick question for you re: fainting. I've had a few spells on and off nothing to the point where I actually faint but I start feeling like I'm going to pass out. I get sweaty and I feel sick to my stomach. I talked to my Dr. about this and she didn't seem concerned. She said sometimes your blood pressure gets low and it you start feeling that way. Just wondering if anyone has felt like this before? It *****!!
Avatar f tn I keep getting dizzy spells, not really anytime in particular but it feels like a might faint (have never fainted before but I imagine that's what it would feel like before fainting?!) It happened today while in a shopping centre. Then again there after my dinner. Any ideas why?
Avatar f tn Or blood pressure
Avatar f tn If you develop any palpitations, trouble breathing (especially with mild exertion or when lying flat), nagging cough, fainting or near-fainting, crackly sounds when you breathe - get immediately to the ER. Whenever ladies mention a lot of swelling in late pregnancy or within the first few postpartum months, I recommend they get familiar with peripartum cardiomyopathy signs because knowing them can save your life. Hopefully, it's just pregnancy hormones. Be well!
Avatar m tn Forgot to mention that also had an EEG and several ECGs when i was in hospital.
Avatar m tn As long as you do not have any heart disease and cause no other symptoms (eg. fainting) you should be okay. They sure do startle you at first and you think your heart is going to stop, but relax and take a deep breath and continue on. Anxiety tends to increase them and they are hard to forget. Scroll through the forum or search internet for lots more information.
Avatar f tn I am 53 and in menopause and I have actually fainted now while driving. My heart was racing and I had a hot flash and then I lost consciousness for 3 or 4 seconds. Went off the road, through a fence and into a field. Very luckily, no one was hurt. This happened a year ago. Had tons of tests done on my heart, blood work, etc. Nothing found. Now, a year later, I'm starting to get the dizzy spells again (not vertigo though, I've had that before).
938718 tn?1323783514 It could be from hormones or if you aren't getting enough nutrition/hydration it can cause this as well. As AnnieBrooke said, you can't rule out pregnancy either. I got pregnant with my 3rd child when my 2nd was BF'ing and 5 months old.
Avatar n tn He put me on Levothroxine I think this is how you spell it and pig thyroid. 60 mg 2x a day. Well, two years later I was fainting and anxious, grouchy and quite unhappy. I decided to see my regular M.D and she took me off the Pig thyroid but left me on the levothroxine. Now I am feeling better but gaining weight and have really tender breasts. I am wondering is this because she took me off the other drug and this is how my body is reacting or should I see another doctor?
1110676 tn?1265812109 hi, my doc requested a 24 hour urine metanephrine based on my complaints of fainting spells when standing up, persistent migraines (sometimes w/ aura), headaches, hot sensations, fatigue. but i don't have hypertension. the urine test was so expensive, is there another test to also confirm this disease? btw, im diagnosed with hashimoto thyrditis a month ago, doc says the thyroid has nothing to do with the migraines. is it true?
Avatar f tn My daughter is 15 years old. She began fainting about 2 years ago. She is a perfectionist, over achiever and worrier. After MRIs of her brain, CAT scans, EKGs, EEGs, lab work and many 2nd opionions. She has been diagnosed with vasovagal syncope. In January 2008, her cardiologist started her on florinef and also had her increase her salt and water. After that, she went 4 months without an episode. We also started therapy with a psychologist. She had one episode in the spring of 2008.
Avatar f tn s continues to have fainting spells. All blood tests are apparently normal, but last week she had another episode and went to a walk in clinic (her doc is on holidays) and this dr got her in for an emergency MRI for the next morning (which really is unheard of around here, usually you'd wait several weeks/months for an emergency MRI - am in Canada) and he ordered blood tests. Although she sees a doc this week for the MRI results her blood tests showed her B12 was extremely low.
Avatar f tn I am a 32 year old woman who has had sleep issues as long as I can remember. I have apnea, for which I have a CPAP. That being said, I keep experiencing a combination of migraine and what appears to be cataplexy. I will wake up feeling horrible that day, usually I'll experience some migraine aura, and then I'll have the "fainting" as we call it.
Avatar f tn It's very common, not sure the reason, but its probably to due with hormones.
Avatar n tn Family and Heart Specialist will not listen to this, but I KNOW this is the cause.
Avatar f tn So a little juice or sugar water stops the trembling/anxiety/sweating/fainting/weak feeling, and I try to eat something fatty like butter and honey mixed real good in hot water and maybe some protein and that stops the episode. However, my ‘Dr’ said I have anxiety and tried putting me on meds. I got a blood sugar monitor and my blood sugar is in the normal ranges accept when I’m on my period or right before my period and it’s all over the place.
Avatar f tn I have always been prone to fainting due to being anemic so easily.. When I got pregnant it got worse and I fainted more.. I started taking iron capsules and pre natals with iron..
Avatar f tn I had one the other day. Not sure if it will happen again. But i heard once uou faint it will happen again. When i fainted theyncalled 911.
10777943 tn?1412955415 I'm the same, I get terrible fainting spells during pregnancy. I know its not low blood pressure because I've had preeclamplsia through both pregnancies but interestingly my iron levels have been really low particularly this pregnancy. I had an iron infusion last week and haven't fainted since. Maybe get your iron checked?
Avatar f tn I had fainting spells in the shower every time with my first two. I was anemic too. the doctor had me taking iron supplements twice a day and that stopped it.
Avatar f tn I had horrible timing with my fainting spells last pregnancy. I was always really sick with morning sickness and once I passed out while on the stairs and fell down half of them. Woke up at the bottom of the stairs so confused. It's an unfortunate thing but also a bit normal. The amount of blood in your body is increasing and that is usually what causes it. If it happens a lot you should definitely go in and get some blood work done.
