Avatar f tn My 17 year old son started having spells of getting dizzy and then passing out, when he comes to, he is out of sorts and the last one fell and hurt his back. Also he has a history of nose bleeds, the doctor tells me this is due to allergies. The nose bleeds did stop for awhile and then these spells started and the nose bleeds have started again. I would appreciate any feed back you might have.
Avatar n tn If these false signals conflict with signals from the other balance and positioning centers of the body, vertigo may occur. Common causes of vertigo include: - Inner ear disorders, such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), Ménière's disease, vestibular neuritis, or labyrinthitis. -Injury to the ear or head. -Migraine headaches, which are painful, debilitating headaches that often occur with vertigo, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, noise, and smell.

971577 tn?1304711266 Vertigo is where everything feels as though it is spinning and you feel lightheaded and dizzy. Almost like you are drunk and the room won't stop spinning. I got vertigo from an inner ear infection however migraines can cause vertigo symptoms too. Here is what webmd has to say about vertigo vs syncope. Lightheadedness is a feeling that you are about to faint or "pass out." Although you may feel dizzy, you do not feel as though you or your surroundings are moving.
Avatar f tn I am 53 and in menopause and I have actually fainted now while driving. My heart was racing and I had a hot flash and then I lost consciousness for 3 or 4 seconds. Went off the road, through a fence and into a field. Very luckily, no one was hurt. This happened a year ago. Had tons of tests done on my heart, blood work, etc. Nothing found. Now, a year later, I'm starting to get the dizzy spells again (not vertigo though, I've had that before).
Avatar f tn She has 6 weeks on bed, and can not stand up without fainting. She had been treated in many ways with no results. What can be done in this case? Does exist a new diagnotic method not popular yet in Latin America?
Avatar f tn I take Rebif injections 3 times a week and my question is this does being dizzy and having fainting spells a part of the MS symptoms. In March this year I fainted after getting out of bed in the middle of the night and hit my head and had to go to the emergency room for stitches. They ran blood tests and said that all was in normal range.

Avatar f tn It has been going on for over 1 year. Lately I have been fainting and falling alot (very embarrising since I am in High School). Just recently I have also been getting severe leg and back cramps/spasms. I am having a hard time sleeping at night getting only about 3 to 4 hours of sleep. This has also been going on for over 1 year. I have seen several doctors, who have run MRI's, CAT scans and they all have done blood work. Everything always comes up normal.
Avatar f tn I fainted once while cooking over the stove, it was horrible. I hit my head on the ground and everyone freaked out. But my doctor said it was because I either didn't eat enough that day, I was dehydrated or I was in the heat too long. Once I was in a really hott bathroom and I felt like i was going to faint. If you feel like that you need to immediately sit or lay down, because if you fight it, which is what I did, you'll end up fainting. And that could be fatal to your baby.
549681 tn?1229724499 My daughter struggles with vertigo (nothing to do with thyroid) and I know it is very scary for her. She feels better if she keeps her diet low salt. I hope you find a solution soon.
Avatar n tn Nause, room spinning feelings, vomiting and fainting. I had severe fainting feeling that lasted seconds intermittently over a few months. Now mainly over that. Saw an ENT(ears, nose and throat specialist). Easy cure for me. Also had the same symptoms as yourself after banging my head(unexpectedly). So I too know how your symptoms can be severe. Mine was a positional dizziness. So this situation was one cause. There are others that the specialist should be able to diagnose. Hope this helps.
1293180 tn?1272293255 A problem with a heart valve can cause low blood pressure when standing (thus the dizziness and near fainting) and hypoxia (low oxygenation) when laying flat (could cause the short-of-air feeling, nightmares, fluid in your lungs -shown by coughing)...Have you had any recent psychological traumas like rape, witnessed a violent death, etc.? These can cause panic attacks which cause hyperventilation episodes (which also fit what you describe.
Avatar n tn I did have mild vertigo with bouts of it being bad for over a year and it was determined by an ENT that I had Eustachian Tube Dysfunction. It was closing in on itself a little bit. Do you have ear fullness, ever a ringing in your ear or hear at different tones? I had all that on and off too. BIG pain. The ENT had me do these things called reverse ear pops where you hold your nose and blow. It will pop your ears. (does not hurt).
Avatar m tn t know, but the fluid inside your ears, there are some kind of crystals or something to this effect that can be floating around and can make you have vertigo. Not sure what it's called but perhaps I'd look into it, If brakeing & acceleration makes you pass out, then maybe it's something to do with that, cause that would be sudden motion. I don't know, just a thought.
Avatar m tn i feel more pain at rest and occasionaly during my jogging i feel like fainting or vertigo. i have done even recently a stress test and i was negative. My question is if all these is heart related or not and what can i do to have a straight answer.
