Common Questions and Answers about Fainting and tingling

fainting

Avatar n tn I went to the ER again a few days later because I was feeling the same signs of when I fainted, like uncomfortable tingling in my arms and chest area, as well as kind of dizzy, and very panic-like. It turns out, it had nothing to with my heart or blood pressure, I was just really wound up and it really effected me, but I felt like something was physically and medically wrong. It came out of nowhere.
Avatar f tn I feel extremely dizzy and a warm, tingling feeling moves down my face and neck. I feel like I am going to lose conciousness. I struggle not to pass out and my heart beats fast. I usually panic at this point and I feel like my breathing is slowing down. I experienced this today and I was brought to the ER from work. It happened two other times this month. It usually happens in the morning. The only time that I experienced this in the past was in March following an abdominal surgery.
1077135 tn?1267319960 I went paralysed on my left side in September, everything was normal for two days and then my hands and legs started tingling, and my balance was off. I haven't been the same since. Well I thought I was improving then two weeks ago I woke up to having fainting spells. I am also going numb and the tingling is worse than ever. Avatar f tn I periodically check my blood sugar and it is good. I have had cat scans in the past for this and EKGs, and everything seemed fine at the time. I recently had knee surgery and was told that my EKG didn't look good, but was okay enough to do surgery. I live in a rural community and my doctor is at a loss as to why these happen. I have my thyroid check via blood test every year and have had only 1 scan and that was about 15 years ago.
5840725 tn?1376960433 I know everyone has heard not to sleep on your back due to restricted blood flow but I'm 34 weeks and continue to wake up on my back! I prop pillows and they end up on the floor.... I don't have any tingling in my legs like blood flow is low just super sore back(from back sleeping )and hips(from sleeping on my side) ... does this really pose a risk for baby to be on my back... I still feel tons of movement during the day just not as much in the morning..
Avatar n tn Loss of consciousness, twitching of muscles are a common feature of the syncope. The patient gets a feeling of warmth and sweats before fainting. Dizziness may occur. Please go for an MRI of the brain and a tilt stress test or postural stress test to find out the cause. If the jerks or shakiness is excessive, it could be epilepsy. It may be ruled out by the MRI which shows increased electrical activity in the brain in case of seizures.
Avatar f tn My fainting spells are always proceeded by a tingling in my toes and fingers. This tingling turns into a partial numbness and then I get these burning sensations almost like I have a sunburn that works its way up to my face. Then my vision is effected, things don't swirl but sort of rock slightly. Then I get an electric jolt, the blood feels like it is draining from my head and I sit down immediately and knod off.

Avatar m tn 10 days ago I suffered a concussion due to a fall after fainting. We don't know how long I was unconscious (I was alone), but it was no more than 10-15 minutes. I was unable to remember anything regarding the actual injury (i.e. where I hit the back of my head) or my trip to the hospital and the ER until about an hour before I was discharged. I 'lost" about 3 hours in total.
Avatar n tn Drinking water seemed to help rid me of the seemingly pattern of fainting and regaining consciousness and it happened on two nonconsecutive days both the same situation, the element of heat outside being a possible factor, and the lack of any overpowering physical activity.

Avatar n tn s disease), low blood sugar levels, and in some cases, diabetes, may lead to hypotension and hence lightheadedness and an off balance feeling. Certain types of epilepsies and seizures too can cause similar symptoms. If you have an accompanying headache then you must also look at benign intracranial hypertension. Heart problems too should be ruled out in your case. If all other tests are normal, maybe an ECHO should be done to rule out mitral valve prolapse.

It is usually benign, but it can also have an underlying medical condition that needs to be looked at.

18860756 tn?1468945709 A week later when I was back home, I started to feel funny while driving in traffic for an hour - my arms and legs were tingling, I felt weak and light-headed. I thought I was going to faint so I pulled over & called 911. I ended up not actually fainting but I felt all the symptoms of passing out. I went to the doctors and they ruled out a panic attack because I didn't have chest pains. They just thought it was my low blood pressure causing vasovagal syncope (harmless fainting).
