Avatar f tn t, appears you have many clear signs of estrogen dominance. I believe estrogen to progesterone should be 2:1 (according to more naturopath MDs) and that is what I strive for, but definitely get many of the symptoms you list above when my estrogen gets too high. Saw 3 traditional OBGYNs + 2 internists who were of no help to me and their primary solution was BCP then finally got relief from a preventative medicine MD.
Avatar m tn m not a doctor and I have no experience with medicine, but from what I have researched online about the hormones that control your menstrual cycle, and from my experience taking birth control, you could be having symptoms of estrogen dominance as withdrawal from taking birth control. It is easy enough from the North American diet for the body to produce more estrogen than it does progesterone. Both of these hormones need to be in your body for you to get your period.
Avatar f tn m reading to balance my sex hormones I can take vitamin d, vitamin b and fish oil. And there is also an estrogen dominance diet that I am trying to do as well. I can't tell what is the best way to cure it? It's been months of having this.
Avatar f tn It sounds like a fungal skin infection, however, other underlying causes should be ruled out also. Vitamin D deficiency, dehydration, estrogen dominance thyroid dysfunction and other imbalances should be considered. If you have estrogen dominance you may benefit more from using a cream with bioidentical progesterone vs low dose BC, if you were taking them for endometriosis. BC could be contributing to thyroid dysfunction. What exactly is your BC med?
Avatar m tn //www.healthline.com/health/low-testosterone/anti-estrogen-diet-men It's all that healthy stuff, not surprising. It's got red grapes on it though which I personally like.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar f tn t heard of a diet to help this but I do know that estrogen dominance can have a role in it. Google estrogen dominance and you will see some things you can do to help reduce that and some may be food related. Good luck with your recovery.
Avatar f tn I found a very informative website that goes indepth on estrogen dominance and how to treat and reduce estrogen dominance. Your myxedema is a sign your cells are not getting enough thyroid hormone. Excerpt from Health911 - Estrogen Dominance..
Avatar n tn I have estrogen dominance as well, and my doc told me that an effect of estrogen dominance is hypothyroidism (or at least symptoms of hypothyroidism). When my levothyroxine made no change, I decided to quit taking it as I started taking progesterone. Now I have almost no hypothyroid issues anymore.
Avatar m tn I've just realized that this could be estrogen dominance. It's quiet possible that this is where I should be looking. What do you think?
1002364 tn?1250107254 Do you have PCOS? Why were you asking? PCOS tends to have estrogen dominance but only cause you may not ovulate then you never get the progesterone you need becasue you did not ovulate. If you have had an US to show and blood work to show you are ovulating it is usually not an issue of estrogen dominance though. Your BBT will show if it is a problem though and if you are Oing or not. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Causes of estrogen dominance include birth control pills, estrogen replacement therapy, stress, poor diet, obesity, xenoestrogens (excess estrogens found in anything from pesticides to plastics). Estrogen dominance can affect conversion of T4 to T3 as well as increase thyroxine binding globulin (if there is too much thyroid binding globulin, thyroid hormone is bound and unable to get into the cells).
Avatar f tn Anyway I have been doing alot of research and stumbled across a condition called Estrogen Dominance which can be caused by the Birth Control Pill and how Estrogen Dominance can affect the thyroid. http://outsmartdisease.com/how-estrogen-dominance-can-ruin-your-thyroid-health/ I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on this? and if anyone has gone through the same thing.
Avatar f tn Sounds like a symptom of too much estrogen to me, in other words, estrogen dominance. You need to get off the synthetic and take a good, bio-identical hormone cream, a compounding pharmacist can make this up for you once the doc prescribes it. You can also use a good, over the counter cream, I am talking about Progesterone by the way, it will help to alleviate the estrogen dominance and get those hormones back in balance.
Avatar f tn There is even something they call estrogen dominance and it is absolutely associated with frequent yeast infections. They may try to stabilize your hormones or get them in a little better balance.
Avatar f tn I also produce too much estrogen. My body regulated on its own. How were you diagnosed and what symptoms are you having?
Avatar n tn I have done some reading on iodine inbalances and estrogen dominance being issues. You might want to do some googling in those areas. With the estrogen dominance they suggest you adjust your diet and habits to eliminate things that cause it (antibiotics in meat, fertilizers on vegetables, chemicals in your home, etc.). Good luck with everything.
Avatar f tn i was also thinking of trying some lugols iodine to see if that helps since she has FBD as well and fibroids..would estrogen dominance have anything to do with her higher levels?
Avatar f tn You may also have estrogen dominance ( causing an imbalance in the estrogen/progesterone ratio and leading to fibrocystic breasts, polycystic ovaries and more). You may need to modify your diet and avoid xeno-estrogens and boost your progesterone levels by taking bio-identical progesterone cream. *Most Hypothyroid & Hashimoto's sufferers have gluten intolerance or Celiac's and may not even know it!
Avatar m tn t it counter the extra oestrogen in my body automatically and remove the effects of oestrogen dominance? Why would I continue to suffer the symptoms of oestrogen dominance? 2 - If I was to take some form of Progesterone (the method is not important for this question), and my progesterone levels are restored, why would my progesterone levels stay restored after I stop taking the progesterone supplement (cream or otherwise)?
Avatar f tn ve read that estrogen dominance can lead to abdominal bloating, excess white discharge, and breast changes as well. I have never had bad PMS symptoms before this. My period has not come yet, I'm not sure when it will, and I started taking birth control pills today. I am not pregnant, and there is no possibility that I could be. What's causing the delay of my period, and is it the excess estrogen causing all of these changes? What can I do?
