Common Questions and Answers about Eczema under my eyes

eczema

I have noticed that my skin under my eyes are very dry, puffy and red. It tends to get flaky and extremely dry after a few hours and when I don't apply moisturizer to it. I have been trying to treat it by applying lotion and vasaline to my skin several times a day and at night before I go to bed. It seems to be the same everyday. What else can I do to treat it? I have eczema on other parts of my body so I assumed I was dealing with eczema on my eyes and face and accepted that diagnosis for a year, and not one thing helped clear it up (including steroids). Finally after hours and hours of research online I realized it was demodex and actually had to diagnose myself (I scraped my skin and bought a microscope to look at it) because a doctor refused to test me for it. He said there are no known cases of demodex infection in the US.

I have had dark circles under my eyes for about 2 years now and it seems to have started after I began college. So maybe I'm not getting enough sleep due to my schedule and everything. But its summer now and I have been getting plenty of sleep but there has been no change. Maybe there is some other reason that the dark circles are there, not having to do with sleep depression. Any suggestions?
The past year I have been experiencing dry and peeling skin under my eyes. I've been using Eucerin calming cream on it and that seems to keep it under control. But if I stop for a few days, it comes back. It actually started on my eyelids last summer, but now is underneath my eyes more than above. I use Dermitage Skin Renewal and Lifting Cream, and sometimes Lift SP for wrinkles. But, the dryness started months before I started using those.
Hello, These brown patches can be due to seborrheic dermatitis or eczema skin. Seborrheic dermatitis is usually caused by overgrowth of Malassezia furfur. This skin disease commonly affects adolescents and young adults, especially in warm and humid climates and is aggravated by sweating and humidity. Topical antifungals and mild steroids are the usual treatment and combination of the two can be used to treat stubborn patches.

Hello, I have been using the clearasil blackhead control scrub which lists salicylic acid (1%) as its active ingredient and the proactive toner. Now, I developed a rash under my eyes. Even though I stopped using both products, the rash got worse and now my eyelids above and underneath my eyes are swollen. Additionally, my eyes are very red, a little itchy, and there are tiny red bumps. What product do I need to take, in order for this to go away as soon as possible.

A few months ago I also noticed a number of small hard bumps on the back of my neck. I also develop redness next to my eyes at times. I have seen two doctors and both said that it is nothing to worry about, as they were unable to see the rash on my penis. However, the last doctor I saw had me tested for a series of STD's, all of which were negative. He prescribed me the scabies medicine as well as a strong cream for eczema, neither worked.

I have and always have had very dark circles under my eyes.
I have had a painful burning, itchy red, sometimes purple rash about and below my eyes on my skin. My lips are dry especially at the side of the mouth. My latest symptom is little red "bumps" on the way back of my tongue. I can find no information what this could by. Tried creams and hydrocortisone from the pharmacy nothing helps. I've had this for about two months now. I moved 3 months ago from Florida to the Northeast. At first I thought it might be because of this.
You don't get eczema on the eyes but it can effect the eyelids. Ask your dermatologist about the possibility of using eczema medication around the eyes. You can also try a eyelid skin moisturizer like Refresh-PM over the counter, doesn't matter if it gets in the eye. Another possibility is dry eyes. Use the search feature and archives to read about treatment of dry eyes.

The other day I got some semen on my hands which have eczema. My eczema do itch and I do scratch them very often. But eczema don't itch all the time. when the semen got on it ,it was not bleeding, it looked like intact skin with very red rash on it. So,my question is, is this kind of no-bleeding eczema showing only severe rashes the same as intact skin? does it make enhance the risk if i scratch the rashes caused by eczema and they bleed or have tissue fluid coming out? 2.
Hi, My 3 yo daughter has had dry skin and redness around her eyes and on her forehead for a couple of weeks now. It also looks a little bit swollen under her eyes at times. Could this be alleriges? She has had skin allergies but never on her face.
When it's really bad, my eyes also weep yellow as if conjunctivitis but not as sticky and go fluorescent red. Previously, my doctor told me this was because the bits of flaky skin irritated my eyes but I don't seem to get that much skin loss from my eyelids so I'm not so sure. The eczema doesn't actually itch that much which makes me wonder if it is eczema at all! Please help!!
I had a hair cut and the hairdressed told me that I have some eczema on my skin. Today I feel the skin behind my ears very sensitive and dry/ rough. It hurts a bit. It is impossible for me to look at it due to its position but I guess it has to do with the meds Soooo, I have lots of creams for other areas but what to do for the scalp? Is not that I can put Aveeno on it Any ideas, suggestions?
Unfortunately, though, due to slipping down to laying flat in bed, my head filled with fluid and it set off an inflammation and swelling response in my eyes and in my facial skin. So we begin treating again... My products/management methods: --Day-to-day I like Burts Bees products. I love their buttermilk lotion for my body and sometimes on my face. --When my allergy/rosacea eyes flare up, I use NeemAura Concentrated Neem Cream AND 100% Pure Neem oil on my eyelids.
My son is 10months old and has had eczema since he was about 5 months,he has had loads of different creams that work for a short time then it flares up again.I must also state that he has been put on a dairy free gluten free diet which has eased it but hasn't helped greatly. My GP will not prescribe an antihistamine for him as he is under 1yr, is there anything with similar effects to an antihistamine that he can use?
I have these weird half circles under my eyes. I am not sure what they are but I am only 19 years old, so i dont think they are bags. It looks like the skin under my eyes sort of folds or sags and it creates a shadow or something. When I pull the skin tight the circles go away.I am the only person in my family that had this problem so I don't think it is hereditary. It looks awful and when I don't wear makeup people always ask me if I was crying.
