Avatar n tn Dermatologist can treat the symptoms but not always the cause. I would recommend that he see an allergist that specializes in eczema. Eczema frequently has an allergic cause. Treat the underlying allergy and the eczema clears up. I know some people who have had success with Allergra and Zyrtec. My daughter only has eczema in the winter when she is not out side as much. This may also be related to a low vitamin D level. Has anyone checked his vitamin D level?
Avatar n tn I even changed contacts per my eye dr. for dry eyes and that helped for a while, and now I have dry eyes again, with allergies in eyes, burning and itching pollen I know. But question (big One) does anyone have a cure or anyone have a clue of an idea that has hope them with dry eyes, and it is something that you can use in your eyes with your contacts still in. thanks for any info.
Avatar n tn Steroids does create side effects to eyes of steroid sensitive persons. it include cataract, glaucoma, ocular infections, dry eyes etc. If steroid is mandatory for treating your condition then use an ophthalmic steroid ointments which is far pure & sterilized than that used for skin conditions, also don't use it more than 10 - 14 days. I suggest you to see a good ophthalmologist preferably one who specialized on external eye diseases.
Avatar f tn m on week 24 of 48) and, in fact, I have red circles around my eyes that burn, itch and peel and it seems to be from my tears that leak from my eyes at night and I get little cracks at the corner of my eyes that hurt something awful. It seems that no matter what type of lotion or ointment I used it would burn worse, until I tried A&D ointment which seemed to help somewhat.
Avatar f tn Eczema on both lids of both eyes would be unusual. The most common cause would be hypersensitivity reaction of eyelids due to exotoxin production of staphlococcus aureous colonizing your eyelids due to blepharitis. Again that is just the most common cause.
Avatar n tn You could have eczema. Do you have a rash or anything on your legs you could describe? My eczema has been acting up due to dry hot weather. Scratching makes it worse or even if it is a rash or bite it makes those worse too. What does it look like? If it is eczema or a rash you may be allergic to your detergent or something else. Try using fragrance and dye free detergents and other items on your skin. Also, Eucerin , Restoraderm works well to calm down itching.
Avatar n tn hello guys! 2 questions! 1. The other day I got some semen on my hands which have eczema. My eczema do itch and I do scratch them very often. But eczema don't itch all the time. when the semen got on it ,it was not bleeding, it looked like intact skin with very red rash on it. So,my question is, is this kind of no-bleeding eczema showing only severe rashes the same as intact skin?
Avatar n tn For the past couple months I've noticed that my eyelids have been unusually dry and itchy - Now they are constantly peeling (both the upper and lower lid) and still very itchy and super red (it looks like I've been slugged in the eyes). I read online that I should do a warm compress and then scrub the skin with baby wash and then use aveeno, but that hasn't been working at all - I'm so embarrassed by it, I don't like going out..
Avatar n tn try using baby shampoo i was told to was my sons eyes with baby shampoo when he got eczema on his eyes it cleared it up good luck
Avatar f tn swelling under my eyes. I also get dry, rough lips with cracking at the ends of my lips. I am just so frustrated b/c I don't know if it is something I am eating or my makeup. I have tried food allergy tests, detox programs, allergy patch testing. The only thing that has worked to get rid of it is striods which I don't want to always take. Cool compresses work too. Just want to find the root cause of it all. Sound familiar to anyone?
Avatar f tn Many times eczema can be related to some reaction to food- my sister's was caused by an issue with gluten, but it's certainly different for each person. I'd recommend cutting out one type of food at a time- instead of starting with more than one. Keep a log of the things you eat and if you seem to have an inflammation with any of the symptoms. After you have tracked that for a while, you can try eliminating something else if you aren't seeing any improvement.

Avatar f tn Hi everyone, For the entire summer, I've been dealing with escalating skin issues. It started out as itchy, irritated skin on my eyelids. I've been to the dermatologist twice and used Locoid Lipocream once a day. Things got a little better but never went away. Then she gave me Mupirocin to use once a day. Same issue - got more manageable, but never went away. On my own, I've been taking flax oil daily and using pure vitamin E oil on my eyelids and undereye area.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have been having the following symptoms for like two years: numbness in feet, arms, hands, legs, neck and lower face, foot/leg cramps, weakness in my legs and arms, aching leg pain, minor muscle spasms and tingling in my legs and feet. As well as recently I have started getting eczema or some kind of dematritis on my neck, foot, hands and eyelids, dizziness, itching, uncomfortable eyes, back pain, fatigue and feeling like I have bruises on my legs when I haven't hurt them.
Avatar f tn I was using the cream for a patch of eczema by my mouth, so when the rash appeared I thought it was the eczema and continued to apply the cream to the spreading rash. I continued to use the cream daily for 5 months because it was the only thing that kept what I thought to be eczema at bay. After realizing what I was doing to my skin I stopped using the steroid cream and I am not using make up or face wash, just warm water. I was wondering if I can use a moisterizer or not?
