eczema

Avatar n tn Lately I have been getting dry skin, especially around my eyes. It's become inflammed and red underneath my eyebrows, and around to the outsides of my eyes. Whenever I put moisturizer on it, all it does is burn. I've tried multiple moisturizers, and nothing is working. I recently bought new acne medication, do you think I could be allergic to it? Or is it just because I need to drink more water or something like that?
Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms you have mentioned, it seems to be a case of Eczema. It is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites).
Avatar f tn is there any product or treatment that you can recommend to reduce or lighten the "raccoon" appearance or "dark circles" around your eyes that African Americans and people of darker skin often get as they age? My are horrible! No amount of sleep or concealer seem to help. In the last two years it has gotten noticeably worse. Avatar f tn Someone posted a while back about having problems with the skin cracking around their eyes as if their tears were burning the skin - but I can't remember who that was. I'm posting this in case the following information might help that person or others who are having similar issues.
Avatar m tn My face is more tan than red but the redness makes a circular outline around my eyes which makes it look like i've been wearing sunglasses and got burned, but not around my eyes. People are always commenting on it saying things like, "looks like you've been wearing sunglasses" and it's getting very annoying. Is there anything I can do to even it out or get rid of the redness?
Avatar f tn He now has light cirles around his eyes and it looks as if he had on sunglasses. His Doctor suggested that I have him see a pediatric dermatologist. I am worried to death because the cirles have been getting lighter and we are protecting him from the sun. He does not rub them at home, but when I pick him up from school under his eyes sometimes look a little red. I am wondering if he has an allergy, eczema or could the light circles be Vitiligo?
9770403 tn?1408461137 but if the spots are raised at all it could be alittle bit of eczema, my skin got very sensitive to everything around 16 wks or so. try a cool cloth and cucumber over the eyes if thats the case. you'll know its eczema if it doesn't clear up quickly. i chnaged my skin routine for a week and it subsided.
Avatar m tn The stats put around that a large percent of Lyme patients had a tick or bullseye rash are calculated backwards: when tick/rash are the main diagnostic signs of Lyme, then those with tick/rash will be overrepresented in the stats of Those Are Deemed To Really Have Lyme.
Avatar m tn Ive been treated by previous dermatologist for eczema on my face around my eyes back of my ears and even on my body but they could never help with the marks around my mouth. A previous dermatologist gave me bleaching creame and pretty much told me that because my top lip is bigger than my botton lip I may have saliva coming out the sides of my mouth even though it doesnt feel like it causing a reaction. Ive done just about everything and used just about everything.
Avatar n tn I've had severe red eyes for almost 2 years and today was diagnosed with Superior Limbic Keratoconjunctivitis. This was the first time I'd consulted a doctor/opthamologist in that regard. The opthamologist prescribed a course of Maxidex to be taken every 2 hours as well as Patanol, which is to be taken twice a day.
Avatar n tn I don't think so. Dr. O.
Avatar n tn You should use a ocular steroid cream around your eyes. Also, this should be followed by an ophthalmologist. Dr. O.
5519088 tn?1369145879 ve been doing that on and off for a year. Also, in January I started using a retinol (2%). This is likely a major cause of the spots. At the same time I was doing the aloe and retinol, I also started doing some intense workouts where I would sweat a lot. This was when it all started. I haven't touched the retinol or the aloe in over 2 months. I have been slack in my exercise routine, but the spots remain.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, For the entire summer, I've been dealing with escalating skin issues. It started out as itchy, irritated skin on my eyelids. I've been to the dermatologist twice and used Locoid Lipocream once a day. Things got a little better but never went away. Then she gave me Mupirocin to use once a day. Same issue - got more manageable, but never went away. On my own, I've been taking flax oil daily and using pure vitamin E oil on my eyelids and undereye area.
Avatar m tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.
Avatar n tn hi my names Harrison and i have really dry flaky skin but the thing is its only on my face around my eyes, ears, chin, around the mouth and arms and now very recently my neck has started to become dry and itchy and starting to flake up aswell its very irritating.
Avatar m tn My 1.5 year old has mild eczema, with some small patches around the eyes and eyelids. My doctor prescribed Locoid ointment (Hydrocortisone Butyrate 0.1%). I have since learned that there are serious side effects associated with topical steroid use around the eyes and eyelids, including cataracts and glaucoma. Without understanding the risks, I applied the Locoid to my child's eye area and eyelids daily for one week. I stopped immediately upon learning of the danger.
1543395 tn?1293363509 I had it for months and months and it just kept spreading further around my face. A doctor told me to use a strong moisturizer, which I did for weeks, and it didn't help. When I went back again to see my regular doctor, he said to stop the moisturizer right away, it was probably making it worse--and prescibed me an antibiotic, tetracycline i believe, and it went away in less than 3 weeks -- cleared up completely. Four years later, it hasn't come back yet (which is common). Good luck.
Avatar f tn Also, I know this sounds ridiculous, but if it is herpes and I used my beard trimmer to clear the area around it to get a better view of the spot, could I spread it to another part of my body if I used it again a couple minutes later?
Avatar f tn That guide is pretty comprehensive. Take a look. I have this as well. I use a corticosteriod cream for it and there are other creams on the market that your doctor can prescribe. You don't want to overuse corticosteriods though as it can thin the skin so do this with guidance from your doctor and other creams have various things to be aware of in terms of potential side effects. Truthfully, my goal is to prevent the patches. I use an otc ezcema balm made by Aveeno after I shower.
Avatar f tn The best results I have had so far is from the allergy specialist who said it was like eczema on my eyes but this only happens if I rub them then the eczema comes. I have been on every antihistamine tables, 4 different eye drops even eye drops to keep them moisture as I was told I had dry eyes two years ago but the last eye specialist did a test with paper and told me I did not have dry eyes.
Avatar m tn I took an oraquick at home on may 24th 2013 and then got a clear view complete hiv 1/2 in october 2014 at the health center. Both of these tests were negative. I never had sex with these women just oral sex and fingering, i have cuts on my fingers from eczema. Last 4 months i have been getting dizzy spells and now gf has been getting them too for 2 months, could this be some sort of std like hiv? I am really worried.
Avatar m tn I would see an ophthalmologist for a comprehensive exam. It is possible that you have some higher-order aberrations causing the symptoms; these can be measured with a wavefront analyzer.
Avatar m tn Heavy computer use makes this worse, often. First you should have a comprehensive exam by an Eye MD to see if something simple can be done like giving you glasses for night driving. Find one near you at www.aao.org.
Avatar f tn Eucerin and aquaphor helped my eczema. I was prescribed triamcinolone, a yellow antibiotic cream that will help. Get a second opinion from another doc to see if you can use it. Good luck.
Avatar m tn It mostly effects women and appear around the nose, mouth and eyes. Treatment consists of oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. A mild soap or soap substitute, such as Dove or Cetaphil should be used for washing. Scrubbing should be avoided. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn t know if this new stuff is eczema. Now, I have a red rash all over my right hand and around my wrist. The skin there feels kind of scaly (unlike the eczema around my arms), and it gets really itchy. It has extended up and around my middle finger as well, and the elasticity around my knuckle has worsened too. If I pinch the skin on my knuckle, it doesn't go back down all the way like it should. The skin on my neck has gotten bad too.
Avatar f tn I had something very similar about a year and a half ago, including the peeling eczema under my eyes. The eye doc felt it was allergies that turned into a lengthy infection. I got antibiotic steroid eye drops and used them for 10 days. I also was prescribed Pataday once a day before bed, and I use over the counter Alaway once or twice during the day, too. The eczema went away, but bags didn't completely go away but they improved.
