Common Questions and Answers about Diet journal notes

diet

Avatar f tn What you could do is write a journal or a few journals on what you learned and then put a post about the different Topics so women can visit and copy & paste the info
Avatar n tn Adam Drewnowski and Allen S. Levine write in the "Journal of Nutrition" that added sugar and fat make up more than 50 percent of the typical American diet and contributes to the obesity epidemic. Craving sweets after a meal can hamper weight loss efforts. You try to deny the craving, only making it more pronounced. If you indulge the craving, stopping with a small serving may be impossible for you.
10947 tn?1281404252 Hi, We've had a lot of requests from our members for the ability to leave a quick note of support, congrats, a thank you, or even a hug, to other members without having to start a new discussion within the forum. We thought this was another great idea from the MedHelp Community and we're pleased to announce we've just launched Notes. We now have 9 themed notes that you can quickly write to other members, simply by hovering over their name and clicking "Leave a Note".
187316 tn?1386356682 So kinda off topic but I was sitting around thinking today about how Aspen is about to be one and how I have no real record of my pregnancy. Sure I have ultrasound pictures and am working on a baby book but I don't have any kind of pregnancy journal documenting the things I went through while she was in my tummy. Well, then I realized that medhelp is like a giant pregnancy journal!
Avatar f tn If it’s worth memorizing, it’s worth taking notes on it, no matter what “it” is. Scientists agree Short-term memory can only hold seven items at one time. Choose your seven and jot down notes on others. Use association. For new information, ask yourself how the information relates to ideas with which you’re already familiar. Try familiar stimulis such as repeating or grouping like ideas. Remember through teaching. Explain your new memory/idea to someone else in your own words.
Avatar m tn The Note feature on the tracker is for other people to write notes to you. If you want to add information to your tracker, you can use the Journal feature. Please let us know if this doesn't fully answer your question or if you have any other questions.
Avatar n tn There are several websites on which you can keep a food journal or even just start a journal here on MedHelp; I also understand that MedHelp is coming out with a food journal in the near future... Make sure you get plenty of exercise - it will not only help burn calories, but it will help give you more energy. Good luck and keep posting.
250701 tn?1320974765 I would be lost with out my journal. I have learned to enter notes within the mili-second or it is gone for ever. Shot 25 is over the crest. It is all down-hill now. You are an inspiration. Good going!
420469 tn?1217647363 So, I was hoping someone would be able to tell me specifically what should be included in a Symptom Journal. I have an appointment to see the MS Specialist, and although I was keeping track in the summer of my symptoms, I have stopped. I think, in hindsight, I included too many things that weren't worth mentioning, too fleeting, and not persistent.
Avatar f tn Also, I need to start keeping a food journal. I think coffee (which I love!) may be a trigger. Splenda and other various forms of aspartame I think might be causing them as well, but not 100% sure just yet. I know everyone if different, but are there foods/ingredient (like MSG) that are very obvious to avoid? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Yeah, I've tried PM and I've tried boards, she won't talk to me at all. Other people are able to give her notes and stuff. And she put the journal out on the public setting, I've seen other people reply. I just don't know what I did or why I would be blocked. And if she's going to block me I'm not going to talk to her... so I might as well take her off the list. I'm just confused...
Avatar m tn Does anyone know how long you're supposed to wait before bringing back "trigger" foods into your diet. My doctor said I can do it by the end of this month, but I am a bit nervous because I don't know how to go about doing this. I know I'm not supposed to bring them all back at once but do I just eat a trigger food then wait a few days? I don't get it. I am concerned that if I even eat one trigger food, my esophagus will swell up again.
Avatar f tn I am new here and have posted a few private notes, without response. i guess this is noy proper protoco? Is this correct, or people what you to post at site.
Avatar f tn That is a great feature thanks!
199177 tn?1490498534 I would prefer to have a separate journal tied to the tracker. Or somehow tie the two together.

Avatar f tn When I feel down I eat. Then I feel even more down so I eat. Pretty sure a lot of other people have done that before. And I'm trying to lose 10 pounds. Not a whole lot but still I want to lose it. So what else can I do other than eat. What helps keep you off the eating in attempt to feel better. Cuz either I eat or a cut. I want to stay with my diet and still not cut. I don't know any other way. I like biking but I live in a area were often the weather isn't good to go outside.
579258 tn?1250649343 MedHelp has released the NEW FOOD JOURNAL .. and there are several very easy ways to implement it. 1. At the top of each page .. Your MyHome Page, Profile, PHR, and each Community, there is a yellow announcement showing "Try our latest tracker, the new Food Diary!" Click on "Food Diary" and it will take you right there! 2. From your MyHome Page, on the left side you will find "Manage My Health" that looks like a little notebook.
637356 tn?1301924822 This weekend I totally went off the diet and ate everything in sight. I know I shouldn't and I usually do really well on the weekends but this weekend Hubby was down and things were rough between us and me and my sister and like I know I shouldn't I turned to food, mainly chocolate!! It rained all weekend long so I was stuck indoors most of the weekend and depressed because he is working out of state and our marriage is on the rocks majorly!
Avatar m tn i just want to make a quick opinion, oh no, lol. i am finding that im not reading journals on here since these notes started. i don't mind the notes, im just saying with the clutter in our own medhelp pages the journals don't show up the same. i just find most people are very open and tell their stories in their journals more cause they don't show up all over the forum and they are very important here to have. is it me or do you guys find it really cluttered now?
1307298 tn?1305946851 I'm considering going on the Best Bet diet (as described on direct-ms.org). This post isn't meant to start a debate on whether or not the diet is good or effective. Rather, I'd like to hear from those who have tried or are on the diet and any tips they can give or any recipes / resources they found helpful.
401095 tn?1351391770 I went to send lukey a note for her birthday and see all thse notes I did not know I had! Is there like a indicator to let you know you have a note?

973741 tn?1342342773 Hi. The past couple of weeks something is going on with my ability to leave notes for friends. I hit 'leave a note' and it just takes me back to the top of the full profile page. Very strange. They seem to be able to leave me notes but I can't leave them back. Any ideas?
