1) In studies comparing equal doses of Crestor to Lipitor, Crestor has been shown to lower LDL levels ~10% and increase HDL levels 2-4% more than Lipitor. Your triglyerides, total cholesterol, and LDL's are in the optimal range, and your HDL level is in the middle. Based on these numbers, there doesn't seem to be a need to switch to Crestor.
2) There is little evidence on the use of EPA alone.
I took years of fish oil and saw NO changes in an already very good lipid profile until I started PRESCRIPTION fish oil (Lovaza) and then further improvement with Niacin and then Crestor. I am in the prevention mode because of my heart issue.I also had a good lifestyle, non-smoker and after 3 heart caths I have no issues with the large vessels. Think about the benefits.
Pronounced Qs *WITH* inverted Ts is usually a sign of a previous infarct. ST depression points to ischemia. EKGs aren't the final word in diagnosing the issue. It would be cause to order further esclation of tests to confirm, which you had and which did not confirm MI.
The next escalation from here if those test were inconclusive would be angiogram, cardiac CT, and/or a cardiac MRI with 3D turbo/contrast. Your level 2 tests did not indicate a need to escalate.

I have great blood pressure...........usually 110/60 resting and no diabetes. Pulse is around 55 resting.
My father who is 56 has had 2 heart attacks. BUT........he is also a heavy smoker(since 15) and heavt drinker and eats horrible.and has high blood pressure.
I have been doing some studying up and have learned that niacin/vitamin b3 can raise your good numbers by up to 35%. Im going to buy some supplements for him to see if we cant get him off the crestor, right now he is also taking omega 3 fish oil, but that hasnt helped the numbers much. He also takes milkthisel and dandelion which are both great liver cleansers, which I believe have kept his liver in fairly good shape since hes had the disease for so long and hasnt had much trouble.
Since my July 1000 reading, I stopped the statin and niacin for two weeks and was going on a 2 week vacation overseas. I returned on a sunday and had a stiff /sore neck for 2 days prior to coming come and a full body massage hours before leaving, and an uncomfortable 16 hour direct flight home...my cpk on drawing 3 days after my return, was 3888. Aldolase was 26. Only symptoms was the syiff neck...liitle better, but still there. Repeat cpk a day later was 3400. Normal thyroid tests.

t have good effects to prevent heart attacks. Howeverk, Crestor was shown to reduce plaque and had better results in clinical studies. Also, with the Niaspan, it is known to raise HDL level but HDL is not necessarily protective as they thought. But that study may be skewed because it was done on all cardiac patients.You may want to read about Vytorin there was a problem with it and I can't remember all the details.

I had a quadruple bypass in 1998 (never had a heart attack) and had no problems since, keeping BP normal through Diovan and controlling cholesterol through 10 mg Crestor 5 times a week and 1200 mg of Niacin daily.
I'm an active 80 year old, play 18 holes 2-3 times a week and work out at the fitness center for 75 minutes 3 times a week.

There is only one interaction that would be of any concern. Treatment with both simvastatin and niacin may result in muscle pain or tenderness or muscle weakness.

I started on crestor, than realized I am ttc and starting not feeling well and am on my ttw...I test for my pregnancy saturday. I took the crestor for 4 days than stopped and its been a little over a week. Should I restart and then stop if pregnant or not bother because of the possibility of there being a fetus?

The weakness and aching are signs of rhabdomyalgia which is a side affect of statin drugs. You need to see the doctor that prescribed the meds as he/she needs to check you. I don't know about the shortness of breath. It could be a drug reaction too.
Has anyone gotten worsening of their PVC's from taking a statin drug? I seem to be intolerant of these drugs and have tried Crestor, Lipitor and Lescol. My PVC's go absolutely nuts when I take them. I have done my own tests by going off and on them. I consistently get worse when I'm on them. I take C0Q10 and a whole bunch of supplements including magnesium to no avail. Any feedback would be appreciated.
if you can try the slo release formula and make sure you take with food.. I use and research a lot of alternate treatments.. Niacin has the propensity to flare up causing those exacerbated feelings also your scalp may feel like its on fire too.. You should be ok and if it doesn't go away seek medical treatment ..
