Avatar m tn I took a blow to the back of my head 3 days ago, it was pretty hard but I did not lose consciousness or get dizzy. My vision has been fine also. I do have a headache now for three days. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn Only two weeks had passed? Pardon my asking, and if it's too private, feel free to not answer, but does your masturbation technique involve thumping your head against something like a wall? 'cause as you may know, the injured brain that's been bruised by a concussion is Very susceptible to major possibly fatal damage resulting from merely a lesser follow-up thump, within say (guessing) a month. If not, I'd say it's totally o.k.
Avatar f tn Light sensitivity, trouble focusing at near, difficulty concentrating, blurred vision are part of the post concussion syndrome. Not every person has every symptom and not every clears at the same rate. If you need glasses for distance generally you are myopic or nearsighted. That is not due to concussion. You should be seen by an Eye MD ophthalmologist for a medical eye exam.
Avatar n tn Dear knothome, Amblyopia is a disease in which vision is impaired, the retina appears normal and the vision is not corrected by glasses or contact lenses. I would recommend an examination by an eyeMD or if you think may be related to the concussion, I would recommend a neuro-ophthalmologist. Dr. Feldman Sandy T. Feldman, M.D., M.S.
Avatar f tn I noticed i couldn’t hear anything, i could see my roommate talking and i knew i was screaming but i couldn’t hear anything for about 5-7 seconds. And my vision was in black and white for about 2 seconds. My roommate said my eyes went wavy, not rolled to back of my head, and then i fell sideways and hit my head on our dishwasher. Dishwasher has a dent. So, since this incendient weird things have accrued.
Avatar f tn Do you think he had a concussion/minor traumatic brain damage? Can this kind of impact be enough to cause concussion? Thanks for reading!
Avatar m tn t walking straight because I was dizzy. he said he was very sure I had a concussion and so he sent me to the ER for a ct scan. After the ct scan, the NP said although It didn't show a concussion I do have one and it showed sinusitis. Ive had sinusitis a few times before and it's never made me nauseated or that dizzy.

Avatar m tn My daughter has hit her eye and we are worried about a concussion.
Avatar f tn t due to the concussion but something found because of the concussion causing you to get diagnostic testing done. But I would get a 2d opinion unless the near-surgeon and the testing saw something urgent. A lot can be wrong without symptoms.
Avatar n tn Are you having any vision changing, i.e., blurry vision, double vision? Have you taken any medications? If so, you need to stay away from Mortin, Naproxen, Aleve, Advil, ibuprofen. You need to take like Tylenol or acetaminophen. I think you need to go to the ER (they have to provide care no matter then situation).
Avatar m tn Like i said i went to urgent care 8 hours later he checked me out and said mild concussion. I havent been sleeping all that much maybe 5 hours or less at night. But i feel like my vision has changed and now im worried about a Chronic Subdural Hematoma. What are the number one signs for that? Is vision being messed up on of the first signs or is maybe the sleep or even the sines what are signs of chronic hematomo? Im so afraid of dieing in my sleep or going blind.
Avatar m tn Headaches, dizziness, irritability and concentration problems may be observed. Symptoms such as changes in speech, seizure, vomiting, double vision or blurred vision, fever and headache that is getting worse, lasts a long time, or does not get better with over-the-counter pain relievers may warrant immediate follow-up with your doctor. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn BTW, if you have access to see an "Osteopath" doctor, do so ASAP. They can do a number of gentle musculoskeletal techniques like cranial-sacral which restores healthy flow of CSF up/down spine & around brain. Also, it's billed as a dr. appointment & doesn't take away from limited therapy visits allowed.
Avatar m tn One time 1 of my brothers pushed me into the bathtub and I hit my head on the old hard porcelain soap holders ending up with a concussion. The next day while doing the dishes my vision went black and the next thing I remember is my mom dragging me by my feet into the living room. My doctor said the same thing, it was do to the concussion and that I would be fine. I read in one of your post that your daughter was said to have Post-Concussion Syndrome after a head injury.
Avatar m tn I'm currently suffering from post concussion syndrome following a bad MVA last June. As a result of the accident I've experienced blurred/double vision and convergence issues. I recently saw a neurological ophthalmologist who prescribed me lenses with a prism. Should the effects of the prism be felt immediate or does it take time for my eyes to adjust? I've had the glasses for 3 days now and not only have they not helped, but I feel like my vision has worsened.
Avatar m tn Were you diagnosed with a concussion? When you went back to the ER did they do a concussion test?
Avatar n tn Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago. Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. There are chances of getting a stroke. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards !
Avatar n tn http://www.emedicinehealth.com/concussion/page2_em.htm#Concussion%20Symptoms) The symptoms may resolve after some time or may persists. After initial treatment, it is important to go to your follow-up appointments for evaluation and monitoring. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Four days ago I hit the right side of my forehead, frontal lobe on corner of hard wood door. It swelled up immediately and iced it for two or so hours then went to bed. Day three I started bruising around outside of my eye and became tired and confused a little. My dr. Tested me and said it was mild concussion and to take it easy. Does anyone know what signs I can look for if I'm to be getting better. I'm still tired, irritable and restless.
Avatar m tn Since that day I have had a vision/brain problem. The best way I can describe it is that my peripheral vision has gone all fuzzy, I don't feel as 'alive', and I feel somewhat disconnected with the things I am looking at. Its most annoying when I look at a person's face - its like they have an outline around their head, and everything around it are more fuzzy. I started using glasses a month ago and the problem is still there.
Avatar f tn I can only see well, in the direct center of my vision. If things are moving I cannot focus on them. My vision has dark impressions across my field of vision, which change from day to day sometimes even hour to hour. I see sparkles almost constantly. If I focus on any one thing to long I get tunnel vision. At what appear to be random times, my vision completely blanks out on either one or both eyes. Most often the right half of my vision on both eyes goes black.

Avatar f tn You need to go to the hospital Accident and Emergency urgently to get examined for concussion, xrayed to see if you have cracked scull and for any evidence of brain haemorrhage. Having your head banged with such force is very serious and it appears that you have got symptoms of concussion. It is important to get seen to immediately, so as to ensure there is no brain haemorrhage. If your vision starts to get worse, this is a very situation to be in. Please go to the hospital and checked out.
Avatar f tn Symptoms of a concussion include memory loss, headaches or blurry vision, nausea, inability to stand or walk or having coordination and balance problems. There is an entity of post concussive syndrome where there is inability to think and headaches, changes in sleep patterns and personality etc. This needs to be evaluated clinically, CT/MRI scan brain needs to be done to rule out. Take care.
